I'm 45 and been drawing since I was 12 and Jazza still draws better than me. I practice so if I keep practicing, I might be as good as Jazza at 55 maybe? 😁

I also just realized the only way I can redraw my old art is art from when I was 5..... but that's still only 6 years ago and my current artwork's not nearly changed as much as it could've in 20 years.

As a socially awkward high school artist, I feel exactly what you described about designing characters that are cool because you weren't cool yourself. Hearing you talk about your teenage years gives me hope for my future, and I really appreciate it, even if you don't know it.
If you wanted to, I'm sure you can learn. The biggest thing, which even young Jazza had done, was putting time into it and having fun growing. Everyone can learn art IF they actually want to.

When you're a kid with delusions of artistic grandeur, you practice these things. I decided I was going to be a famous author in like first grade and intentionally designed a cool signature by the time I was 11 or 12

Im 18 now, and i got into art about a year and a half ago. I'm sad that I didn't get into way sooner so I can grow and have the memories to look back on like here

We're the same age and we share a love of art, but on the other hand I couldn't follow the same path, my childhood and adolescence were pretty fucked up. Nowadays I can still sketch things that most people think is cool, but I still haven't reached the professional level I always wanted. Congratulations on your work, your art inspires me.

I can definitely imagine Alex being this character who acts really cool all the time and always tries to do dumb stunts to get the attention of people and become popular, and he hangs out with a few unpopular people who he is "too cool for". As an artist growing up I can understand and feel every detail of what you have just said. Especially about the ending line work to define a characters perspective. I am 30 and still learning and amaze how much my art work has changed over the years.

I just noticed this but Jazza doesn't really do video series or the same themed videos since the RUclipsr Hero/Villains series. I feel like sometimes he might run out of ideas but if you have an established series going it gives stability for the creator and smth viewers can expect - like a 'draw your kid's art' series is a perfect example, it's 'sustainable content'
I was only a few months old when you drew some of those pieces. I was also addicted to drawing when I was 6, and kept drawing all the way up to today. Now I own my dream tablet, drawing pieces, and having fun doing it while still learning new things. Don't give up on what you want to achieve, with enough work and push, you'll get there, just takes a lot of time and patience 👍
Cool. I pulled out some of my old sketchbooks 3 years after I had done them, and I colored all of the pictures. It came out cool. Now I love going through all my old drawings. You are so cool.

I love stuff like this. I've always been the type to say 'I wish I could draw' without putting in the work, but recently I switched off that mentality and started drawing every day. It's amazing how much you can improve with practice. My 12 year old drawings are straight up horrifying to look at, but I've thought about the idea of redrawing a few of them anyway. The contrast is always so fascinating.
Most of my time at school I was the shy arty kid who never talked to anyone (never mind being bullied about it), and the person I am now can only feel despair over looking at my old art. I think maybe in seeing more videos like this one I can learn how to actually like my old art again enough to actually redraw some as well.

The trick is to try to color less within the lines and then focuse on the edges in the end
I have the problem where I'm so used to drawing without any lineart I automatically stop functioning when I try and colour in lineart
