    I've just begun learning about value investing, and I've found that many good stocks are undervalued despite their intrinsic value. If you had $200,000 to create a strong investment portfolio, which stocks would you choose for better returns?

    • @Nernst96
      @Nernst96 5 дней назад +1

      I think a good investment portfolio should have three basic things: ETFs for diversification, dividend stocks for cash flow, and leading tech stocks. With your budget, it's a good idea to talk to a fiduciary financial advisor for expert advice.

      I agree with you. As an early investor in NVDA, AVGO, ANSS, and LRCX, my financial advisor's advice was incredibly helpful. Over the past 7 years, she has helped me find stocks that did 10x multiple times. With her help, I've grown my portfolio to over a million dollars.

By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. Hey buddy! Don't be seduced by large dividends. Concentrate on total return. There is no sense in collecting large dividends if your overall investment is going down however I’d say SPYI, JEPQ, QQI and IWMI. But do your research.
      Personally I put down 1.3m$ on few ETFs, still diversifying. It was this time last year I made a huge break through with 200k. Handed it to a firm here in Texas, I get weekly pay out which I put back on long term ETF's. IWM will probably crush it this quarter

I would have made a lot more if I just held the stocks, but I am up over 34% in 3 months so I'm not complaining. I am experimenting with multi-leg options and LEAPS as well. What? That’s a great time to get a covered call. You’ll get more premium for strikes that the stock would have to work harder to reach. The stock would naturally come down and you’d be able to close and secure your premium sooner.

    I've been writing covered calls like you on my stocks for many years, and I agree completely that it's almost a fail-safe way if not a totally safe way of have the income flow. My big questions is, do you think that the presidential outcome in November will have any effect on the stock market in any way. Would one party be more favorable than the other. I'm strongly leaning in favor of Trump because of his history, and I'm very afraid of Kamala Harris' proposal to tax UNREALIZED capital gains. That could have a detrimental effect on our gains. What you do say, Henry?

    • @randydiver3076

      Yes! Basically stock goes up with Trump and down with Harris. I was living in Mexico for 9 years. Mexico elected a communist president so I got the heck out of there and back to the USA. The taxing of unrealized gains is bad! Very bad! So I voted for Trump. If you have nothing then getting taxed on unrealized gains means nothing. But if you have worked your behind off to grow that unrealized gain then it’s PURE THEFT! I mean if your unrealized gain goes down are they going to pay back the tax? I think not. So very happy Trump won!

    I love your content but I had a question. I understand if you don’t want to sell the stock, you can BTC and then make another contract and then STO another contract. Where I’m confused is if you use the “roll” function, do you not buy back the contract first or does the exchange automatically deduct that amount from your cash position? Thank you in advance.

    • @sauerbone5208
      @sauerbone5208 Месяц назад +1

      If you use the "roll" function, the BTC and STO transactions happen simultaneously. So the premium from the new STO offsets the loss from the BTC. This may still result in your cash position shrinking if the difference between the BTC and the STO is not a positive number, but it is better than having your shares called away if you absolutely do not want them to be. I am dealing with that now with Nvidia which just went up like 14% in the last five days. I had strikes at 133 & 134 with an expiration in late Oct and Nov 1. The stock was at 122 when I sold those and there was a lot of prior resistance at 130.. I had to roll those out to 145 and 149 with expiration dates in November just to offset the problem. Now I have to manage those strike prices. Nvidia can explode out of nowhere.

    Selling a call on a deep pull back odds are that stock will rebound and the call will be profitable to the buyer of the call. This is not the way to sell covered calls. The goal is to keep premium and keep shares. Sell covered calls at high where supply is heavy confirmed with order flow. Sell call for 100 bucks stock pulls back call goes worthless win win

    Hi Henry, thanks for the course. At 43 min, you mentioned about your aapl option being at a lost even it was out of money. Does that mean the options's price, after you sold it, is being traded in the secondary market and that means market risk (on the price of the option) is a relevant factor to consider? Thanks a lot.

    Which stocks don’t go down?

    • @randydiver3076
      @randydiver3076 7 дней назад

      All stocks will go down. How much and for how long differs by stock. For example YTD TSLA has gone from 248 to 144 then up to 350. Year before last TSLA kept going up then down more then up a little then down more. I sold lots of TSLA covered calls totaling about 400k that year in premiums. Yes I got called out a couple times. Now this year is different. TSLA is going to be on a up trend so I will not do covered calls on TSLA. Instead I’ve bought TSLL the 2x TSLA ETF and some LEAPS on TSLA.

    what do you thing about this ? I have 100% of my account, which is $10,000. I will use 50% of the account ($5,000) to buy XYZ stock at the market price, let’s say at a strike of $23. This means I will own 100 shares of XYZ stock. With the remaining 50% of the account ($5,000), I will sell a put option at a $20 strike price. If the stock drops below $20, I will be able to buy more shares of XYZ at a lower price, which will average down my entry price. Plus, I’ll collect the premium for writing the put option.
    Additionally, I’ll sell a call option at a $26 strike price. If the price stays below $26, I will collect the premium from the call option. If the stock rises above $26, I will be forced to sell 50% of my shares (100 shares) at the $26 price, which will give me a profit because I originally bought them at $23. Plus, I’ll collect the premium for writing the call option.
    If the stock price stays between $20 and $26, I’ll be able to collect premium from both the put and the call options, making this a "win-win" strategy.

    Henry, how can I have you look over my portfolio and give me some recommendations?

  • @nokialover31
    @nokialover31 10 дней назад +3

    I tried this but it doesnt work because when the stock price goes down (it doesnt have to crash, just going down 2-5%) you dont find any calls at a strike price high enough for you to eventually sell the stock in gain, or better you can find it but it would pay very very low. And Apple can easily go down 2-5% and then just stay there for months and you would be stuck. Sorry, no free lunch!

    • @randydiver3076
      @randydiver3076 7 дней назад +3

      ? What you described is how a covered call works. Either one of 3 things happen. 1) The price goes up and you get called out, meaning your 100 shares are sold at your strike price. 2) The price goes down and you buy they covered call back at a discount netting the difference as a profit and you keep you shares. 3) The option never meets or exceeds the strike price before it expires worthless and you keep your shares and all of your premium. Stocks that are surging up do not sell a covered call, just enjoy the growth. However when they slow down or go sideways it is a good time to sell covered calls. Hope that helps ya ❤

    • @robertvandeveer1846
      @robertvandeveer1846 4 дня назад

      @randydiver3076 this also why it is key to diversify the stocks you options trade. Unless there's a major macro downturn 2-3 of your stocks should be moving sideways or gradually moving up.
