+Stavros Antoniou Happy Easter.Please continue posting traditional Cypriot recipes.My grandmother was from cyprus, unfortunately I havent lived with her for a sufficient period of time , so i could'nt learn her recipes.But from what i remember, she used to add mehleb and misteka to doughs specially what we call maamoul in Palestine which are filled butter cookies.Thanks for the beautiful channel.

Hello Stavros and bravo for this sharing. This cypriot easter bread is so YUMMY. I am eaten. I think that this is introduced in Cyprus by the Venicians in the Medieval period of Cyprus. Since then the Cypriots used their own ingredients and the Cheese Flaone became the flaouna. I think, I am not mistaken. It is wonderful so much love and history. I do know for a fact that so many different civilizations passed through over the centuries; Including Phoenicians, Assyrians, Egyptians, Persians, Romans, the Crusaders, Venetians, Ottomans, and the British. But the Mycenaeans Achaeans brought their civilization in Cyprus, establishing the first Greek roots three thousand years ago, during the Bronze Age. A lot of information to take in! Likewise Mr. Stavros and keep up the good work!! Your recipe is truly great. I used halloumi, kefalotyri, hard kefalotyri and a bit of cheddar I had in the fridge. I was able to get a very nice filling after letting it sit for just 6 hours. Next time with a little more patience and better planning I'll let it sit overnight. This was my first attempt and I thoroughly credit your video for what I, and I think you, would consider a very successful execution. Για σου κυριε Σταυρο, αυτος ειναι ο τεταρτος χρονος που φτιαχνω φλαουνες με την δικη σου συνταγη, και ειναι τοσο ωραιες. Η ζυμη και η γεμιση ειναι τελεια. Το μονο διαφορετικο που κανω ειναι να προσθεσω μισο φλυτζανι αλευρι, λιγη βανιλλια και λιγη κανελλα στην γεμιση. Σε ευχαριστω πολυ που με εμαθες να καμνω φλαουνες.

The Greek Orthodox Easter is not until the first of may, the same as the Russian orthodox Church. But you know my dear friend Olja, a lot of people they actually bake them all the year round. Hello Stavros and bravo for this sharing. This cypriot easter bread is so YUMMY. I am eaten. I think that this is introduced in Cyprus by the Venicians in the Medieval period of Cyprus. Since then the Cypriots used their own ingredients and the Cheese Flaone became the flaouna. I think, I am not mistaken. It is wonderful so much love and history. Keep, your wonderful family traditions.

I have to admit, I did not know the Flaouna was introduced by the Venetians and am pleased you have passed it on to me. I do know for a fact that so many different civilizations passed through over the centuries; Including Phoenicians, Assyrians, Egyptians, Persians, Romans, the Crusaders, Venetians, Ottomans, and the British. But the Mycenaeans Achaeans brought their civilization in Cyprus, establishing the first Greek roots three thousand years ago, during the Bronze Age. A lot of information to take in!

Likewise Mr. Stavros and keep up the good work!! Your recipe is truly great. I used halloumi, kefalotyri, hard kefalotyri and a bit of cheddar I had in the fridge. I was able to get a very nice filling after letting it sit for just 6 hours. Next time with a little more patience and better planning I'll let it sit overnight. This was my first attempt and I thoroughly credit your video for what I, and I think you, would consider a very successful execution.

The Greek Orthodox Easter is not until the first of may, the same as the Russian orthodox Church. But you know my dear friend Olja, a lot of people they actually bake them all the year round.
