Honestly, for those of us here for the long haul, we aren't just here for the cars. We're here because of what you and your crew have built together. Being creative is one of your best attributes. Watching that creative energy thrive, while you build the dopest home of the century, is going to be awesome for everyone that tunes in. Get er done son!
The Cleetus2 channel definitely has the potential to grow if you put the build on here. It's already established as the off-topic Cleetus content and I'd say 3 channels is too much. Doing the house content on Cleetus2 will give the channel a solid consistent theme with the occasional racecar crossover/announcements. Having everything on the main channel in my viewing experience gives me atrophy, it's too much to take in and that separation of themes is nice. It's the personal side of Cleetus and just like with what Demo Matt did, he did the abandon mansion but it wasn't forever and that turned out okay for him and the fanbase.
We're yall born yesterday? Garrett has been in the industry for over a decade, he knows. He edited 1320 videos and was in the industry before 1320. Heck he's probably real estate agent also in which he sells small portions of land by the race track and his own home. Don't trust content creators. They're not here for you. They're here for corporations. Just enjoy the content and be aware of the scams
Twenty year master electrician here. Before drywall goes up, make sure you plan for possible future upgrades and run a circuit for it. Example would be fish tanks, hot tubs, pool heaters, fireplaces. Etc. If it's a 2 story house it's very hard to fish wires through the first floor. Much cheaper to do it now than later. Love to see your house building content!
If it is two story add a LARGE (or two) raceway from the load center and data center to the second floor attic then you can drop in from the top on the second floor. When houses had chimneys for heat it was a great top to bottom access but now you have to plan ahead.
If you can fit it into your design, either put in a few sub panels to help make future renovations easier by keeping the electrical closer to your usage point, or run conduit from the main panel(s) to a few strategically placed junction boxes to help with not having to tear open intervening spaces for renovations. Something like putting a large junction box behind your refrigerator; you won't need to get into it unless you're renovating, but you could totally tear apart your kitchen in the future and not have to tear out any other rooms/ceilings to route new electrical. Personally, I'd try to do that for a few big areas like your kitchen(s), garage, living room/entertainment center.
@@LoganWillmert I agree. I am a 17yr HVAC and only a hand full of new construction jobs have I seen where people have installed multiple sub panels. I wished it became mandatory in new construction.
First off, McFarland Mansion series will be a hit. You've earned it and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. This series may just blossom into something majestic. Look at how well a house series did for Matt. I say go for it.
I think it's safe to say that MOST people watch the channel because of YOU, the cars, planes, boats, ect. are just a bonus. Your humble and kind attitude is why people love you and will watch what ever content you put out. I met you last year at Clutch kickers at the FF and i was blown away by how humble and kind you were to not only me and my son, but anyone else who approached you and asked for a picture. Can't wait to see the new house content!
Honestly, 95% of the reason I watch your videos is because of you and the boys having a good time, 5% is what you’re actually doing. Absolutely make a house build series and take us along for the journey! You could do a series on doing laundry and I’d still watch it 😂
Definitely do a video series. I wouldn't mind it being on your mail channel. Wouldn't bother me a bit.. Things I learned building my house. 1. You can never have to many closets/storage rooms. 2. Power outlets recessed in the floor. Especially in living areas. The more the better. 3. Good lighting in the bedrooms. Put can lights on a separate switch so you don't always have to have them on. 4. Put outlets on columns on your porches.
I would put the house content on this channel, just like Matt did with "Off The Ranch". For lighting and things like tile etc, reach out to Matt Moreman's team at Obsessed Garage. The group of people they put together for Adam LZ's house remodel are absolutely top notch. They would be able to get you on the right track and connected with the right people. House design and construction is some of the hottest content on RUclips right now. This series will kill it, and I know we are all looking forward to seeing it come together.
The comment I was looking for. Matt would do a great job with this new project while making in-depth videos for the nerd who like that kinda stuff while you can come in and make general update videos for this channel. I’d also say rename this channel to just Garett Mitchell like demo Matt did, seems like the classy move.
Definitely put it on the main channel, might as well make some money off it. After all these years I think it’s safe to say a lot of us are here for all the great content you provide not just racing. Good look Cleet
First off, never feel weird about sharing your success! You are humble and not boastful! Definitely make a series, monetize it to help with the hanger, runway and helipad!
@bagelbandit6076 Demos second (third) channel had a couple million subs. This channel doesn't even have a million. The revenue will be higher on Cleets main channel to help with the build costs.
I am here for it. Matt Carricker was able to put a lot more into his "Abandoned Mansion" by making it a RUclips project. I loved it. I am currently watching Adam LZ's home remodel.
I think we're past just car content, we love seeing you guys do well at anything. We love the plane and helicopter videos - model planes included - and we love the jetboat videos, obviously we LOVE the drag racing and FF events and car builds, pretty sure most of us would be delighted to see an extra video every week with house progress on either of the current two channels - add another playlist and boom. Gold 😊
I think for the main channel do the overarching design and big updates. This channel get into the grit of what's going on, it'll give this channel some room to grow with regular updates with just the housing stuff mostly so people on the main can sub to this channel even more if they want more but also don't get fatigued with double videos from car + house content. Your audience is pretty big, so it gives a lot of us some advice on what to do, learn what you do, and how to do something if that chance arises for themselves. I will say based on my house, you can't go wrong with outlets all over and the ability to have cat7 or higher cable outlets all over too. Yeah you can run wifi but sometimes you need extenders, stuff gets dropped. High quality hard line that will hold you for years to be able to plug into anywhere in your house can save some stress. Lighting too, some of those new bulbs like the Phillips Hue you can control with your phone or Alexa for the "cool" rooms. They're expensive but for what I use them they are worth. I changed out my ceiling fans to ones that don't have cords coming down and are controlled with remotes have been a nice change. Lay in bed and turn the fan higher/off without getting up, just don't lose the remote lmao. Depending on how wild you go, you can have morning routines that the curtains open at certain time with lights slowly coming on all kinds of shit with smart house these days
Main channel we all watch for you. The cars, trucks, planes, and helis are the bonus we get for watching. Build it for Dale brother. Your personality is what makes the content great. Along with your crew. You have assembled great group of people around you.
You started the main channel around racing, but since then you’ve added boating, flying, rc cars etc, and they have all done good and everyone has enjoyed it. It’s a big life moment to do this and I believe it belongs on the main channel because as a fan I’m excited to see how far you’ve come and things you are doing, that’s why it’s enjoyable to watch!
I love how Matt (demo ranch) has his formatted, the main channel stays true to the original content and the second channel for all the other stuff, house build, side projects, more aviation, maybe you go to demos range days etc… Don’t feel weird, you earned it and it’s Awesome you are bringing your ppl along for the journey…
I think you keep it on the main channel. Your channel has really turned into more of a lifestyle/business channel than just a racing channel. The base of the content is racing/car building, but the heart of the channel is the relationships and daily life between everyone involved with the shop and track. I always hope to see more track upgrade/construction videos as well.
A lot of people won't like that. Off The Ranch / Matt Carriker is a great example. Tons of people were upset when he finished the abandoned mansion and started posting about cars. Cleestus McFarland needs to stay a car channel.
@@HandTightGarage Your point has been proven invalid with this channel. Went from car only to now it is car, track, side by side, shop pranks, etc. This is more of a motorsports lifestyle channel than anything else. Look at some of his most popular videos, like installing track lights or taking a jet boat up white water.
100% smash the main channel with all the build content!!! I don't know a car guy who doesn't love a custom home build especially when there's a healthy budget involved !!!! Can't wait to come along for the journey
Brother, it's all about the energy from you and the crew. Post it all! Never would I imagine enjoyment from watching a Live Floor Scrubber video but yet I watched it for hours. Your content is pure entertainment. All of us are along for your journey!
Some of my favorite things in the design for building my house: Think through where you want to be able to turn on different sets of lights throughout the house. For example, our main Hallway lights can be turned on/off from right outside the Master, the kitchen, entry from the garage, and front door. We put in a whole house speaker system with separate sound control sections and wired the alexa into it. The music throughout the house is extremely nice. If you're going to be in a secluded area, I suggest having one of the switches for each section of flood lights in your Master. That way if there's a weird noise outside, you can light up the world without having to go to the front/back doors. This paired with the hallways lights outside our room makes it to where I can light up pretty much the whole house very quickly if I want to. Get bright Floodlights. Ours are 10000 lumen with three sections per light. My outdoor projects/get togethers can continue into the night very easily.
Same, but on the main channel would mean less content for us. Put it on this 2nd channel and he keeps pumping out the same amount of content on the main plus the extra house build content here. Win win 👌😉
Main channel for sure, we all enjoy watching the path you've gone throughout the years. This is huge and we are all honored to watch it grow step by step, can't wait to see what you have planned. It'll hit crazy views no doubt about that.
Prioritize insulation not just for the cost savings aspect for heating/air conditioning; prioritize it for the comfort you'll gain. There's a point where more/better insulation isn't always going to help save money, but if you can overbuild slightly, you can avoid the problem where one room is too hot and one is always too humid, etc. Also look into over-spec'ing the HRV/ERV system to again help with comfort. I don't know what the code minimum is for new-build in Florida, but if you can even out heating in the kitchen while cooking, and high humidity in bathrooms, it will just help your entire house feel more comfortable.
Definitely a series on 2nd channel. I’ve built 2 custom homes for myself as a builder. Best advice: don’t make sacrifices build the dream you have the resources and you’re incredibly talented as a businessman, creator and drive/ pilot. You save me cubicle dollars by building the stuff I don’t have the resources and time to build. Keep up the incredible content!
As a person from the original Cletus days I think everyone would all agree to put it on the main Channel , the majority of us have watched you grow that channel from virtually nothing , like the exhaust whistles on your Corvette we were all along for the ride , so I say build it on the main Channel and congratulations Garrett you earned it ! it's okay to have fancy shit, speaking for myself I personally like to see someone succeed when they work their ass off. You earned it and I will be along for the ride no matter where you put it. Congratulations to you and your wife on this major life accomplishment .
Something I've learned through renovating my first home Tip #1 : I think you should add access ports to every major in wall fixture/pipe. It isn't terribly unaesthetic and if you ever want to replace a shower set up, or check a spigot leak after a freeze etc. All you have to do is pop open an access port, over cutting into dry wall, replacing dry wall and repainting. It adds such a peace of mind to quickly pop open a port after a freeze as well as a great way to check the condition of your studs. The extra minor cost could save you thousands down the line. Tip #2 : Go in before drywall is up and take pictures of the bare walls. This will be insanely handy down the line to be able to look at a picture and know where everything is. Tip #3 : I don't know how bad foundation shifts are in Florida, but it never hurts to go a little overboard with foundation...it is in fact, the foundation of your whole investment.
This channel is the best spot for this type of content. Matt did the mansion and it was cool to watch that series. Building a house goes really fast once plans are set, comparatively. There is a lot of thought and prep going into the plans. Tons more coordination between contractors and their schedules, if you decide to use them more than doing it yourself solely. It is going to suck up a lot of time. You are going to have to find out your end date and work towards that. There are quite a few channels that do this type of content. The best ones are where everything is documented in video. Keep in mind you don't have to put vids out in real time with the build. I've seen the stress that creates. Your ability to create interesting content will carry the entire project. Good luck!!!
It goes fast unless you have to go and almost completely tear the house down and rebuild it. lol. Jk on Matt. It was an amazing journey on the project. And now here we go again on the desperado ranch and resort. 😅
Also, for Matt’s channel off the ranch now named Matt Carriker. I only watched that channel. I didn’t even know he had the gun channel till years later. Don’t ask me how I don’t know how I missed that.
Don’t feel weird about us seeing you build your dream home!! We are here for it!! You deserve it! Construction is a slow process so I’d do like 2 a month on the 2 channel then like a quarterly update on the main! If you don’t want to saturate it even tho I would 100% still watch the hell out of it. I’m renovating my first home right now so I like see home building tips.
Some design ideas: Your building on sand so the foundation must be planed and engineered accordingly. All power, phone, cable, internet, etc underground and enters in the interior of the house. Electrical panel/breaker box inside the house. Install backup power (generator/ solar) now while building instead of doing it later. Speaking of solar, there’s tons of sun in Fl and you’d be remiss if you didn’t capitalize on at least solar hot water. Reenforced door jambs to prevent door kick ins. Insulate the hell out of all outer walls and ceiling. Insulate interior rooms where needed for sound. (movie room, office studio, etc) Tech shield with an air gap on rafters. Pressure test the house. Oversize the heating and cooling Consider a safe room, or two. All gearheads need a mud room with a bathroom. We come in the house dirty and need a place to clean up so we don’t track dirt, oil, and grease throughout the house. Run wiring for things like in wall speakers during the framing stage, even if you don’t install them right away. That way when you do get ready the wiring is already there. Saves a ton of headache if you make a map. I’ll add more later. Sounds like an awesome addition that you could add to the channel, if you kept it interesting and fun.
I'd say do detailed videos on the second channel so those who care can see it... and do updates on the main channel cause most of the folks building cars will like to see a house build. A build is a build!
This is a good idea. Upload update vids on the main channel and upload detailed vids to the 2 channel. Just have the links to the full house project on the main channel vids. This could work too.
Totally agreed. The main channel's all about the horse torques, but everyone also cares about the cool builds and jet washing the bleachers. Main channel for the main bits, but we'll also be devoted to more content on the 2nd. Miss the build updates for the FF, so would love to see this.
Good idea. I think your long time followers will love updates and if they want more will go to the other channel. However new subscribers interested in the build may not care about the car content at all and leave annoying comments asking about the house lol
Bro, as a custom home builder I am STOKED to see this kind of content! I think having a separate channel where you post a majority of the build content would be good, but sprinkle in a few clips here and there on the main channel to direct potential traffic over to the build channel. I’m stoked to see the plans and nerd out on this build!!
Like Colin Furze's new underground Driveway project, run some longer more detailed videos on a Second channel and release more of the bigger updates on the Main
Mate the Cleet channel is about you as a person and your journey, it’s not just about cars. It is so much more, it’s the crew, the track, it’s your aviation journey. Don’t hold back on putting the house content on the main channel mate, everyone will LOVE seeing more of your journey!
Gerrett, Just look what Demo Matt did with his channels. He started with with Demolition Ranch & Off the Ranch and then as things grew and he got that giant property he turned the second channel into one about him and his projects beyond doing his firearms channel. I've enjoyed the transition that his second channel took and would have to agree with the above about the second channel following you and your life beyond "racecar Cleetus". Good luck and I hope it goes smoothly.
To me - main channel is the vibe. I like the idea of behind the scenes on the secondary channel but main, and a single channel, is the vibe. And other automotive focus channels have done similar and branched out content. Per OP - this channel has always been more than just cars.
I recently built a somewhat larger home of 6K sq ft. Spend your money where you hate spending it. Good windows and doors, not vinyl junk. Spray foam insulation. Double or triple the outlets they put in a garage. I did a 400 amp service in the house, but knowing you will likely do outbuildings, put in the biggest service you can possibly do. I have a large property and ran extra conduit if internet ever takes a big leap and I need to run new lines. I also ran extra water lines if I ever want to do irrigation on the large lot. I also ran utilities to separate parts of the property for outbuildings. Last year I trenched 900' of conduit to run electrical for security, wifi, and outlets for a holiday lights display. Basically its much cheaper to throw pipe in a hole that is already dug than to dig it all back up and do it again. conduit and pvc pipe is cheap. Excavators and labor is not. Good luck.
Set it up for a ats and stand by generator even if you never get the actual generator installed, itll be much cheaper to be put in along with the electrical and would increase the value of the house 10 fold. Also imop wood siding is best besides the upkeep with paint and rot etc. Goodluck man houses definitely are a gnarly project
Cleeter, I wasn"t that into drag racing until I started watching your channel, soon to realise it wasn't just the drag racing I was interested in, it was your personalitly and how you presented the content and how you interact with others. It's just a bonus that you also love aviation and anything with an engine, which is what I'm into, and so are thousands of your viewers. The series defineley belongs on your main channel. Peace from Australia 🇦🇺
Man, don't worry about any potential haters. Don't skimp on your dream home for you and your family because of fear of what "we" might think. We live through you, go all out dude!
Personally, I think Derek/VGG does this really well, by keeping the main channel to cars and doing house stuff on the second channel. Also, it would be a pretty stellar opportunity to grow this channel even further, and engage a new audience that watches youtube for house stuff and maybe won't be interested in the cars. Your main fan base will watch it regardless of where it is.
I would say separate channel. Not only would it keep is separate, might increase revenues as well. I have built several houses for myself. I have no clue what your plans are, and I know in Florida regulations are different (Due to termites and other bugs). But what I have learned is 9' ceiling on 1st floor is minimum (and when they do this stretch the window height), Hot and Cold water spigots on rear and front of house (For filling buckets etc), Power outlets in overhang of house (for easy plug in of C-mas lights and cameras) and Undercabinet lighting for all rooms with cabinets that can be motion activated (Pantry, Bathroom, Kitchen, Mud Room). There are tons of more things which have been mentioned on here already. Finally, always as much storage as possible, you never have to many places to store stuff.
I've been hooked on watching obsessed garages build on Adam lzs house. I'm surprised others haven't mentioned it more. If you want the best of the best, Matt at obsessed garage is the man. From faucets to lighting, to tile, to kitchen sinks and appliances. It's all amazing shit
OG makes so much content I can’t even keep up at all 😂🤷🏻♂️ but Matt could really help Cleet with so many aspects of the build. He’s one guy you could count on making a house feel like you spent your money appropriately and it’s all stuff you’d see, feel, use, every single day. From home office, to garage, hangar, everything you mentioned, even custom home audio systems. Cleetus NEEDS Matt for this. If I were spending (likely 7 figures) on a house, I’d have to consult Matt
If Matt at OG isnt somewhat involved, I'd be impressed. Doesnt sound like he wants to take on another build like the LZ house again, but he can definitely give cleet the hook up on a bunch of cool scheet
Get all the essentials for backup. Generators, battery, solor, water filtration, water catchment, pellet or wood stove if needed, most importantly build a greenhouse connected to home. Much much more lol
Put it on the main channel Garrett! Don’t be ashamed to show off your hard work. You deserve it buddy! I think I speak for most of us in saying we will watch anything you post! Best content creator out there!
I think you over estimate the patients of the viewers on the main channel.. he should use this project to grow this channel... Main channel is pretty full right now....
First of all, you have worked so hard to make the brand and build your business. You deserve a nice place to relax and raise your family. I personally don’t feel that you should feel bad about that. I think it would be good for the algorithm if you posted them on the main channel, but some new viewers might be confused. People who’ve been with the channel will probably follow to wherever you go and be hyped to see it on the main or the secondary
As someone who is here for the car content… but has also watched endless timelapse videos of lawn care at the FF - 😂 - I think it’s safe to say that wherever you put the content, we will watch it. I’d actually vote for it being on the main channel - because why not - it’s following you and your endeavors across the spectrum. Jet boats, sand rails, snow rails, rc planes, real planes, hovercrafts, racetrack renovations… why not add home construction to the mix! I’m excited to see what you build!
Make sure you do variable speed HVAC with all hard pipe duct work and r8 insulation this will help humidity control… other off topic tips…. Granite throughout , 12ft ceilings, his and her sink, large pantry, gas appliances, tankless water heaters, wrap around gutters, laundry room with tons of cabinet space, generac generator, built in home vacuum ports in rooms, laundry shoot, garbage disposal,UV lights , 5” media air filters, spray foam insulation(if done properly) , can lighting, motion sensor&door switch activated lighting, just a few lol…..
-Before drywall goes up run speaker wire in the living room for surround sound. - Kitchen island - Offset studs- better insulation and reduce noise/vibration - pot fillers - gas stove - 1 huge garage door instead of 2 or more - shower steamers - outdoor kitchen
2nd the speaker cable recommendation. And please for the love of all things holy, don't do a surround sound setup entirely in the ceiling! Their are amazing in wall options out there. Also have Ethernet/Internet cables pulled throughout the house! That way you can use wireless access points and provide solid coverage for the whole house! Or have wired internet in an office.
@@Jacobtheunwise I can very much tell you that they still do. If someone is wanting to put together a decent system, they will upgrade from wireless systems and use speaker wires.
@@littlewicky1 unless you're spending 20000+ they are all wireless and even when they are wired most people convert them to wireless. There's no point putting a bunch of wires through your house for a sound system that will be obsolete in 10 years...
It's totally understandable to feel awkward and weird about building your own place. I'm a builder in Minneapolis and felt super embarrassed when I started to build my own place. All the guys that work for me are my best friends. But in the end they all wanted the best for me, just like we all want the best for you! Plus you have the excuse that it's got to be nice to make good content! Dont' keep us out of this, we'll love watching the build!
Don't get caught using proprietary home automation unless the installation allows for swapping it out with standard devices/fixtures in the future. Things like whole home audio that work with a single integrated controller and remote interface panels make it difficult to upgrade or change later. If you want something like that, run speaker wires out to all of the locations from a central point and place all of the automation in a rack. You can do anything from Best Buy audio receivers to the highest end distributed audio or anything in between. The same goes for lighting and outlet automation; don't install central control where all of the switches are in a cabinet; use regular wiring methods to normal boxes on the wall. You can put in fancy switches if you want, but those could always be swapped back to standard wall switches later or any other new technology down the road.
First and foremost, CONGRATS Garrett, you've earned it!!! Second, get with Matt Risinger of the the Build Show and collaborate with him as well. He specializes in high end high performance homes. You need your home to perform as well as your race cars, a collab with him would be epic!!! Third, as a construction guy who loves race cars and airplanes, keep it on the main channel and do a build series.
This right here. ^^^^ I couldn't agree more. I love watching the content you guys provide and as a home owner I love watching Matt and using his ideas for my remodel.
I couldn’t agree more that you’d want Matt on your project because he has a wealth of knowledge & experience on how to make a house perform at its best but damn I find him so boring to watch & listen to. Not sure what it is, maybe it’s the editing style. But I can’t do it, which is unfortunate because I renovate homes for a living & mostly consume reno/car content on YT. Similar situation to Adam LZ & obsessed garage. I wanna see the progress but can’t handle the poorly edited lacklustre videos
Definitely do a huge series on it! Get with Matt at obsessed garage!!! The things he’s doing to Adam lz’s home are legit! I’ve watched everyone of the episodes on it
Sounds like an opportunity for an “off the Ranch” style channel like Matt. Look at the success Matt has had with his other channel, and his really took off with the Abandoned Mansion series. Cleetus I would start a channel for all your non race car stuff like this, track improvements travel. I’d be certain all of us would subscribe to it and the main channel can still be what we all have come to love.
Yeah, I think this is the way to go. Purely from a RUclips engagement point of view. If you have viewers that aren't interested in the house building/non racecar content and they choose to not click those videos on their home feed the algorithm will stop suggesting videos from the channel, even if that content is back in line with the typical race car stuff. I've had it happen to me with channels that have varied content where I started wondering why they aren't uploading anymore when really, it was just the RUclips algo thinking I wasn't interested in that channel anymore just because I didn't have interest in a few videos from a series significantly different from the "typical" content.
How well did the Freedom Factory content do for you? Based on the views from those videos you can determine what direction to go in. You know the vast majority of us fans are going to love what you put out!! Congrats on building your dream home!
First of all- Congrats on the new house and coming out in the green on your current house. Second, DO NOT apologize or feel like you shouldn't "show off" what you're building. You and your family know how hard you've worked for it, it's earned, and it should be an inspiration to others. There will ALWAYS be haters we all know that, but you worked for it, so you deserve it. Show it off. Lastly, DEFINITELY document it, as far as doing a separate channel...I'm not sure I'd watch on either channel, but some others might complain it's "dilluting", if the majority DON'T watch the videos is it going to have that big of an effect on your channel/income? Looking forward to seeing the build. Ideas are endless.
DEFINITELY wanna see this on the main channel, as most of us watch you for YOU!!! The impact you put on us viewers strives us to be better!!! GO CLEET!!!
House build and shop build series are always my favorite to watch. It would be great to get some ideas along the way with things too. I think this channel or a Cleeter Construction channel would be the best. Keep the main channel for the racing/freedom factory. Best advice I can give for now it take lots of pictures of the walls right before drywall so you know where electrical, plumbing, heating, solid blocking for hanging items, etc are located. Also definitely run ethernet and speaker wires everywhere throughout the walls.
Put the house build on this channel like Matt did on his second channel, build this channel and keep it as an alternate to racing content. I absolutely love building/renovation content like Matt's mansion/resort and stuff like Brad the builder does with new construction. Looking forward to watching this build!
I live in a fairly humid climate like you. Air condition the garage. Also the master bedroom should have a dedicated AC system. Warming drawer in the kitchen (for food) and the master bath (towels). Don’t mess up and make your wife’s closet too small.
From a revenue perspective you’re going to get so much more exposure in the main channel, put it there. Don’t feel bad about your position in life, you worked hard to get where you are, you’ve put a ton of effort into quality content, enjoy it
One suggestion for the actual house though is to wire it ahead of time for all LED lighting. We have been installing those types of lights recently and in some areas we want the ability to use dimmer switches. Depending on the lights and the fixtures and stuff to have it look 'clean' we need to run new wiring. For our particular fixtures we need 4 strand wires, not two strand wire that's already there. Definitely worth the investment to use LED lighting.
It’s definitely something I’d like to see and would watch where ever it is, it’d make great content, but your home is a very intimate place and it’s understandable (and not a terrible idea) to keep that part of your life private. As fans we want to see as much as we can get but at some of us fail to remember that you’re a normal person just like us and you do need your own space away from the camera not only for you but your family as well. I’m not discouraging it, you just gotta do what’s best for you and your family over us fans. That said if you were going to do it a new channel maybe the Garrett Mitchell or Mitchell Family channel would be best or put it on this one. It give you a chance to show us Garrett over “Cleetus” if that makes sense. 🤷♂️
I would keep them separate and keep the house it's own channel, most definitely. I'm a Commercial General Building contractor myself. You should check out more than one contractor and more than one architect for a design that he could help you build to your specifications/needs. Sometimes this takes years to even design and complete with many changes along the way so a contractor must be negotiable and there will be a lot of time and material added to any kind of project such as this that is not contracted in stone. Meaning lots of additions and start and decide to go another way so tear it down and do overs. So unless you put the blueprints as a must build your building is going to be a happenstance and pure luck if it is going to stay on target price or with over runs that are going to keep you paying for this to come years down the road. Good luck and I suggest reading some books on building your own home. That will take you through all to look for and how to keep the construction on track wit6hout delays and over runs or changes and add-ons.
+1 On the main channel, that's all about you and your crew. What we love is your sincere reactions about everything you're accomplishing. We've grown with you, the cars, Children's, FF, Aviation, Helis, Boats, RC, teams and Company's. That's all about you and your Family! Enjoy it! Don't overthink it. Love from Brazil 🇧🇷
Couldn't agree more with this, you have a ton of subscribers that will be notified on the main channel instead of starting from scratch, check the analytics and make a call later if need be! Thanks for sharing!
i remember i found out about cleet when he was renovating the FF never gave a bug about oval racing or drag racing but loved what he was doing and stayed ever since i get that racing/dragging is what made him big but all the other stuff is what makes him great. so forsure main channel.
I'd do it on this channel .. house builds have brought huge amounts of views and subs for stradman, demo ranch, goonzsquad etc. Also we love your humility.. it's totally ok to show your housebuild off and having us involved in it makes it even cooler. Love seeing channels grow who've put in the work.. can't wait to see what you build. I just hope you bought enough land to keep housing developments from popping up on your property boundaries.
I think you do need three channels. This one for announcements/discussion, the main for motorised content, and a new channel for the construction series. Also can't hurt covering bases because who knows what youtube might be like in 10-20yrs. I'd definitely watch the construction channel. I like Goonzquad and Vice Grip building content. You could also have Freedom Factory maintenance and repair on it too.
Bud,.we all know you're a solid, down to Earth guy. You have a huge following, have done wonders for the sport of auto racing, and cars in general. On top of that, you have a knack for business, and generating revenue. Plus, you have a beautiful wife, a son, and soon a daughter. What man doesn't want to enrich the lives of his family and loved ones ? A house isnt just a place you go to and have dinner at. It's where memories are made. Its the location for your lifes line of events.
I think this would fit fine on the second channel. I think I speak for most when I say that if you post it, we will watch it! And as a plumber I might have a suggestion or two for you. Avoid Grohe and HansGrohe, as well as Rohl when considering your shower valves. They're finicky and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The two brands that treat my customers the best are Moen and Kohler and it seems they have something to please just about anyone. Not to mention that Kohler has some really sick computerized shower valves that let you do just about anything you want with your master shower. When it comes to plumbing sure it's nice to have a really fancy looking finished product, but you don't have to pay for a "specialty" brand just to get it. Not to mention that those "specialty" brands are garbage. Also, pex is just fine, it won't make your water smell like it did way back when, and it will help to speed things along a little bit. Though that's not to take away from copper with its natural disinfecting properties though, mostly a personal choice nowadays. Baseboard and radiant heating are more efficient and better for your family in the long run over forced hot air, though in FL most likely your ducts will carry AC for the most part. And ,unless you're the one in a thousand, a reverse osmosis system for your domestic water typically is not worth the investment. Most customers who opt to have one installed stop using it because they can't stand the taste, maybe see if someone you know has one and try the water. Good luck on the build brother, I've got more to talk about but don't want to bore you.
U do not speak for most of us especially after reading some comments. Most of us want it to happen on the main channel. Whatever has the most revenue potential we seem to love
@@kurtasee2314 What he said was "I think I speak for most when I say that if you post it, we will watch it!" I haven't seen any posts saying that someone didn't want to see it, so it does seem like he's speaking everyone's mind. @Plombo_5 an RO system needs to be re-mineralized before you consume it, or yes, it will not taste right. Our bodies are designed to prefer more alkaline water because we need those minerals for our bodies to perform basic functions, and if you remove the vast majority through RO, the water will actually start to act as a solvent and start stripping minerals from your cells. Basically what I'm saying is, I agree with you, but not for the same reasons you stated. As long as your ground water is safe, and you're not concerned with having super consistent water parameters (they will swing with seasons, storms and through other natural processes), I wouldn't worry about RO either.
drop ceiling in the basement for future access for plumbing, electrical, leaks, etc open chase to attic for same reasons large attic entrance for storage, make sure they do plywood and keep ductwork out of the way think about EVERYTHING before you start
Personally I feel a house build series on this channel would be the best choice. This channel seems under utilized and your main channel is already pretty full with all the other actives you guys are up to. Also you will likely add plenty new subs over here to build this channel. However I would suggest you look into cloning Cleetus, if you're planning to do all the editing yourself.
I would definitely put it on the main channel. As a series obviously I’ll think you’ll be awesome. I would love it. I know everybody else would love it. Specially you’re so good at editing your videos. I’m sure I’ll be amazing as it is.
My one tip...Heated floors in the bathrooms are an absolute game changer!! Also an offroad go-kart and track for Rip when he's old enough. My favorite childhood memories with my dad are in that go-kart
Your still in early stages but I would recommend Geothermal for your heating and cooling. Its very efficient and a great system. Also consider looking into air quality as with a young family it is very important. Might be a good idea to look into preventing radon. Its an odorless radioactive gas naturally released from the earth. Many people overlook it but it is very important. As a family man myself, I always think its worth the extra pennies to keep our families safe and minimize risks.
I support putting the house YT series on this channel, makes sense and keeps it simple for you. It is Cleetus2 after all, I believe 2nd channels shouldn't have a genre. Towards the house project, for first time home builders if you could add as much legal/technical info as you can (within your reason ofc) it'd be sweet, nitty gritty is interesting and cool to learn about. Excited for you dude!! It's gonna be a wicked project.
Can’t wait for this! I would do it on this channel in order to not dilute the racing on the main channel. Also, you’re not flexing on us with fancy things and it never comes off that way. Most of us can’t afford a racetrack, airplane, jet boats, etc. You earned all of these things and I’m just glad you let us follow along.
***I can very highly recommend Klipsch Pro Theater line of speakers for the 50 (or more) person amphitheater you need your house🤘 They can do the whole house with everything you will need and it'll be as automated as you want it. They are great people to work with and they make the most sensitive, best sounding speakers ever. LOVE the channels and watching you do crazy stuff on other channels as well! YEE HAW***
100% we are all loving seeing you and the team grow. Not once does it come across as flexing, we all with you on the journey. Defo do a separate channel for the house build.
You hustled and earned the money, no need to feel weird about sharing it. I've been watching Mike Patey's incredible house/pool build..and I'll certainly be watching yours!
Hey Cleet, just a random stranger’s perspective but I wouldn’t mind seeing the house content on the second channel. You already use this channel for more personal videos and updates sometimes and some people might not like the main channel flooded if they are watching for “car content”. I would love to see this house build no matter where it’s uploaded though! Best of luck to you and your family!
Put it on the main channel. Its always fun watching what you do whether its lighting at the FF, drag and drives or building a house. Saves us all subscripting to another channel.
Put it on the main channel, It seems like we all enjoy the projects that you get started in, every project you’ve ever shown has been incredibly interesting and captivating. And also you will need to have more RC planes with jet engines strapped to it.
Dude were all here to support you. This is without a doubt channel content buddy. Also the whole team should be apart of this!🎉🎉 Congratulations on the new home build!
I think it would be a great idea to do it on the main channel. Not only does it reach more people, and stay more accessible to the broader audience, but that means more revenue for you to continue funding the house and even better content for all of us.
Cleet, your hard work has paid off and is affording you the opportunity to build a new home. You deserve this and I'm thrilled to see the project, as construction is huge passion of mine. Bring the content, whichever channel you think it fits best in. I'm here to see YOUR content, not only the car stuff!
Main channel my guy. Don’t let up on the race car content and slide the house build vids in when you’re waiting on parts or progress to be made on the cars. It’ll allow you to put out more vids with larger chunks of progress on both the cars and the house but at a faster pace for us cause you gotta know how sad we get when we go couple days without our Cleetus fix. Congrats on the opportunity to build it how you want it, it makes it that much more enjoyable when you’re at the house and have the memories of what went into your masterpiece and appreciate the work you put in for sure
Your channel goes well beyond drag racing. I discovered it because I love drag racing but your story, the guys, your family, etc. is something many of us have become enamored with. You're a good guy doing good fun stuff that is fun to feel like, in a small way, we’re part of. So, I think the new house content will be cool. That said, please don't lose the racing and FF focus. That's what brought 577,000 of us together. Best of luck with your new place! Paul
The spot you’ve got is unreal! Can’t imagine what the new property will withhold. 🎉❤ here for the adventure - second channel like Matt did with the abandoned mansion
I vote for a new channel, you don’t want to mess around with your big channel and the Cleetus2 channel is overrun content from your main channel. If you start a new channel this project will give it a huge boost and of course you can trade stuff on your big channel. It could also be a place for more aviation content as well. You could always ask Mike Patey and see how his building content is doing on his aviation channel. I’m looking forward to seeing it either way! I’m an aviation guy that is building his own house right now about halfway through the build. So I’ll be tuning in for sure!
100% do a series. Whether on the main channel or not doesn’t matter to us. Your people are gonna watch wherever you post it. Also congratulations! This is an exciting step for a family and super stoked we all get to tag along on the build!
Blast the main channel, people follow you now because you're Garrett Mitchell. We like the cars, the boats, the planes, the helis, and we'll stay for the house content. Keep the content coming brother. I don't think you'll lose anyone worth keeping by posting the home on the main channel and you'll get more revenue from the main channel views imo
Hi Garrett, I would like to add some advice.. there is a GC named Matt Risinger, i dont know him. He has a system that pressurizes a new build home and releases a mist of very stong silicone. This airborne mist travels thru the Whole build, on the inside, in the air, trying to get out. As the Silicone mist travel thru holes and cracks it seals them. You could never find a leak before without smoke. The Pressures start at somewhere like 6-7 lbs and end around 20-25 lbs. The mist seals All holes and Cracks in a 1 Step process. I do not know the $$ , but as a builder, handy right hand man to a GC. I know the value of a Efficient home. Good Tmes ! Bro. Hiya Mattie and Rip..
Upload the house build series on the main channel as a playlist. Everything has evolved so much already, freedom factory, aircraft projects, boats it's all great to watch!! Definitely have to say smart home or some automation is pretty important these days and for sure bathrooms and kitchen number one rooms to get right. Good luck Cleet can't wait to see
Every viewer is here to cheer you on no matter how nice or over the top your house is! We have seen your hard work, and we appreciate the immense amount of hard work you have done to support the automotive industry, racing industry, and media industry. You've challenged politicians, local government, massive corporations and companies, and you are still getting better! We all love to see the fruits of the risks and efforts you undertook to get here. Go nuts with it!
Honestly, for those of us here for the long haul, we aren't just here for the cars. We're here because of what you and your crew have built together. Being creative is one of your best attributes. Watching that creative energy thrive, while you build the dopest home of the century, is going to be awesome for everyone that tunes in. Get er done son!
this the truth , i like seeing him do everything it's all cool and funny as hell
Cletus’s mpk ppv needs you and your ppv team…..!!!
Yeah I like this idea!
AGREED!!
This.
This is the way
agree
DEFINITELY do a RUclips series. Make some revenue on it to help fund the home.
Amen to that brother
HELL YEA BROTHER!!!! Series Series Series, I’d love to watch that and like @JosephNnbs said make some extra money brother!!!!
while it could make good content, i don’t think he needs the money
We're yall born yesterday? Garrett has been in the industry for over a decade, he knows. He edited 1320 videos and was in the industry before 1320.
Heck he's probably real estate agent also in which he sells small portions of land by the race track and his own home.
Don't trust content creators. They're not here for you. They're here for corporations. Just enjoy the content and be aware of the scams
@@justabrokeredneck we know Cleet don’t need the money, but def would make good content
Also / fish cat5E er'wherr

Broo, McFarland Mansion. Start posting this name on more comments.
Id say on 2nd channel. Just like matt from Demolition Ranch did
Yes! Whatever brings the most cheddar! Make a channel of Sam offering rides to people in his Supra, but he drives off every time they say, ok!?!
I should say, I’m a construction guy, I’d really enjoy the building and planning content. But I love it all!
McFarland Mansion for the win
I think it's safe to say that MOST people watch the channel because of YOU, the cars, planes, boats, ect. are just a bonus. Your humble and kind attitude is why people love you and will watch what ever content you put out. I met you last year at Clutch kickers at the FF and i was blown away by how humble and kind you were to not only me and my son, but anyone else who approached you and asked for a picture. Can't wait to see the new house content!
Big facts!
This
Main channel
Perfectly said!
True
Honestly, 95% of the reason I watch your videos is because of you and the boys having a good time, 5% is what you’re actually doing.
Absolutely make a house build series and take us along for the journey! You could do a series on doing laundry and I’d still watch it 😂
I fully second this
THIS!!! I thought about it for a few minutes and came to this conclusion too. Im here to watch you guys have fun doing whatever you're doing.
Agreed
we need the cleeter laundry vid
@@itsyaboikirbo Word Up!
This series will kill it, and I know we are all looking forward to seeing it come together.
cleetusmcfarland_off_the_track
Yeah Matt from @ObsessedGarage really knows his stuff, the LZ house will be amazing when it's done, would love to see him colab woth Cleet.
The comment I was looking for. Matt would do a great job with this new project while making in-depth videos for the nerd who like that kinda stuff while you can come in and make general update videos for this channel.
I’d also say rename this channel to just Garett Mitchell like demo Matt did, seems like the classy move.
Agreed, Matt is the man and he's close to you.
I loved when Matt did the abandoned mansion build! I would LOVE to see how you would build your own house! This is going to be sick!
That also was on his second (or third) channel.
Exactly!^^
Yeah but matt never put anything other than guns on the main. cleet already has everything pretty much on the main.@@bagelbandit6076
Matt also used his family vlog channel..
Would you Be ready for a family vlog channel??
You worked your ass off to get to this point. Show it off. I cant wait to see how it turns out. Congrats 🎉
I love how Matt (demo ranch) has his formatted, the main channel stays true to the original content and the second channel for all the other stuff, house build, side projects, more aviation, maybe you go to demos range days etc…
Don’t feel weird, you earned it and it’s Awesome you are bringing your ppl along for the journey…
I'd rather the house build be a series on Cleetus's main channel like the racetrack build was.
I agree. Loved the track upgrade videos from back in the day
Well said
A lot of people won't like that. Off The Ranch / Matt Carriker is a great example. Tons of people were upset when he finished the abandoned mansion and started posting about cars. Cleestus McFarland needs to stay a car channel.
@@HandTightGarageokay and? There two separate audiences.
That was a great livestream!
Some of my favorite things in the design for building my house:
Think through where you want to be able to turn on different sets of lights throughout the house.
This series is definitely worthy of the Main channel, IMO. Came for the cars, stayed for the crew (Cleetus, JSJ, Sam, George, Zac, etc) Love it all!!
Same, but on the main channel would mean less content for us. Put it on this 2nd channel and he keeps pumping out the same amount of content on the main plus the extra house build content here. Win win 👌😉
@@NowinLao Yeah the same as Demolitionranch Matt did with the abandoned mansion on his 2nd channel
Something I've learned through renovating my first home
Tip #1 : I think you should add access ports to every major in wall fixture/pipe.
Some design ideas:
Your building on sand so the foundation must be planed and engineered accordingly.
(movie room, office studio, etc)
Tech shield with an air gap on rafters.
Pressure test the house.
Oversize the heating and cooling
Consider a safe room, or two.
"A build is a build!" No truer words have ever been spoken.

@@metalmattmandudeExactly like that 😂👏🏼
Long videos separate channel
Major updates on main
This would be sick. I’d love to see a series for the house ON THE MAIN CHANNEL! Farm the content for it and for memories to look back on later.
Mate the Cleet channel is about you as a person and your journey, it’s not just about cars. It is so much more, it’s the crew, the track, it’s your aviation journey. Don’t hold back on putting the house content on the main channel mate, everyone will LOVE seeing more of your journey!
10000000000 million percent% agree..well said mate.
Hell Yeh Brother !!!
Good luck.
All the freedom factory renovation videos did well on the main channel so I can’t imagine the house build series would do badly.
Yessir 🤝 literally doesn’t matter what cleetus is doing when he posts I’m excited, I just enjoy watching him an the guys
Agree totally
Get the likes up on this comment people!!
We live vicariously through you brother, house, race cars, race track, airplanes, etc.. Bring on the content!
This brings with it a new problem.
Garretts Media machine will HAVE to grow. Probably bringing on another Editor at minimum
-Before drywall goes up run speaker wire in the living room for surround sound.
- Kitchen island
- Offset studs- better insulation and reduce noise/vibration
- pot fillers
- gas stove
- 1 huge garage door instead of 2 or more
- shower steamers
- outdoor kitchen
2nd the speaker cable recommendation. And please for the love of all things holy, don't do a surround sound setup entirely in the ceiling! Their are amazing in wall options out there.
Also have Ethernet/Internet cables pulled throughout the house!
That way you can use wireless access points and provide solid coverage for the whole house! Or have wired internet in an office.
this needs mode upvotes, also ethernet network cabling through out to connect devices.
Surround sound systems haven't used wires for 10 years they're all wireless
I couldn't agree more.
Conduit everywhere so you can always run what you need later. Also look into getting a 3D scan of all the mechanicals before putting up drywall.
“Off the track” perhaps🤨🤣
Exactly what I thought
Yeah, I think this is the way to go. Purely from a RUclips engagement point of view. If you have viewers that aren't interested in the house building/non racecar content and they choose to not click those videos on their home feed the algorithm will stop suggesting videos from the channel, even if that content is back in line with the typical race car stuff. I've had it happen to me with channels that have varied content where I started wondering why they aren't uploading anymore when really, it was just the RUclips algo thinking I wasn't interested in that channel anymore just because I didn't have interest in a few videos from a series significantly different from the "typical" content.
100% agree
Yes I think an "Off The Track" channel would be perfect
How well did the Freedom Factory content do for you? Based on the views from those videos you can determine what direction to go in. You know the vast majority of us fans are going to love what you put out!! Congrats on building your dream home!
Add lots of extra conduit in the walls for future upgrades before finishing walls, it will make your life easier in the future!
Do not feel weird... You already took inspiration from Matt with the abandoned mansion, keep going. We want to see it all brother.
Thanks for sharing!
i remember i found out about cleet when he was renovating the FF never gave a bug about oval racing or drag racing but loved what he was doing and stayed ever since
i get that racing/dragging is what made him big but all the other stuff is what makes him great.
so forsure main channel.
@@kurtasee2314yes, main channel
Glad you understood what I was getting at. And you're spot on about the RO@@dlaw1954
drop ceiling in the basement for future access for plumbing, electrical, leaks, etc
open chase to attic for same reasons
large attic entrance for storage, make sure they do plywood and keep ductwork out of the way
think about EVERYTHING before you start
I’m down with the heated floors but he lives below the frost line. Definitely need an above ground bunker for hurricanes.
He lives in Florida.
Feel the same way! I think most of us watching have the dream of doing exactly what Mr Cleet is doing!
Also the whole team should be apart of this!🎉🎉
Congratulations on the new home build!
🎉❤ here for the adventure
- second channel like Matt did with the abandoned mansion
I vote for a new channel, you don’t want to mess around with your big channel and the Cleetus2 channel is overrun content from your main channel. If you start a new channel this project will give it a huge boost and of course you can trade stuff on your big channel. It could also be a place for more aviation content as well. You could always ask Mike Patey and see how his building content is doing on his aviation channel. I’m looking forward to seeing it either way! I’m an aviation guy that is building his own house right now about halfway through the build. So I’ll be tuning in for sure!
Construction work and progress comes with a good amount of learning stuff, and im down to strengthen the old braineruski. Im down wherever you put it!
