    Most were saying that Carolina had one of the best blue lines in the playoffs… they lost because they got terrible goaltending at crucial times and had an abysmal power play.

      Agree! Cane's special teams didn't live up to their potential and Freddie had flashes of greatness but Igor was Igor. One great team lost to another great team, as a Rangers fan I was not optimistic about this matchup but at the end of the day it was a really entertaining series - great hockey! Now I start worrying about Florida, ugh.

      everyone is focused on Andersen, but lets be truthful here: When Canes needed a goal to stick a dagger in the Rangers, their finishers and scorers failed to put the puck in the net. How many scoring chances they had where they hit iron, missed the net, or mishandled the puck? When the Rangers needed a goal, their Scorers and finishers got it. Andersen kept you in games, and to blame him for the Canes lack of getting that 4th goal is not on him.

      @@robertperrotto870 here’s the thing, I’m not thrilled with all the post dingers or mishandled pucks off our sticks in the HD areas. That happens and you account for that happening during a course of a game. What’s a little more hard to forgive is those soft goals that get given up. I’m not talking about for lack of defensive effort. I’m talking about the one like Kreider put in off of Freddie’s skate as he was slow covering up the puck. Those type of goals just can’t happen especially in a series that was basically a goal difference each game that’s all

    • @robertperrotto870
      @robertperrotto870 12 дней назад

      @@Dorsey_corner If you watch the replay, Andersens glove hand hit the inside of the post as he was going to cover it up, which caused a slight delay. Things like that happen, just like hitting iron or missing the net. Blaming him for that is like Blaming Martinook and Aho for hitting the crossbar and missing the net on a breakaway.

    • @Dorsey_corner
      @Dorsey_corner 11 дней назад

      @@robertperrotto870 I promise I’m not solely blaming him for another early playoff exit. I am holding him accountable for letting in soft goals ( that one) among a few others over the course of the past few playoff runs. Yeah goals happen but some goals shouldn’t even be given the chance. We “ Carolina” barring any defensive collapse, have a tendency to allow “ soft or weak goals” so Freddie is included in that. i feel it’s time we start looking at upgrading our goaltending along with our lack of crunch time scoring. That has been the difference in each one of our bow outs the past few years. Since we just resigned all of our coaches it’s time to look at the players. cause the current iteration of the team has only worked for as long as it’s regular season play.

    Hugest of L’s for that “Korpisalo and Merzlikins jail” comment.
    Those two are a meme now and the Leafs should have beaten them but both were genuinely good back then and they didn’t have reputations for being holograms like they are today. They were the reason the Jackets were even competitive that year. They were good enough that they don’t warrant a “jail jail jail” comment. Cmon Steve.

    Chris Kreider is part of a dying breed of power forward. He's actually adjusted his game to hit people less. Because contact is not allowed. When we say a guy hasn't won a Cup....teams win cups. And great players don't always win cups
    FYI important note about Kreider....he made his debut as an NHL player in the playoffs. And scored 5 goals

    Brind'Amour may end up in Seattle with Ron Francis after Dave Hakstol was let go. I think there it isn't a coincidence that in the same week that Brind'Amour's contract proposal was taken off the table that Hakstol was let go. Francis was the one who hired Brind'Amour in Carolina and I think a deal is already in place.

    "ThErE's GoOd gOaLiEs iN tHe pLaYoFfS, gUyS"
    No, there are a _few_ *great* goalies in the playoffs, and we seem to run into the best of them every year. Of the eight teams in the second round, maybe three had elite goalies (Shesterkin, Bobrovsky, Oettinger). The Avs and Canes had goalies that were good but not great, Canucks have a 3rd-stringer who's admitedly playing his ass off, neither Oilers goalie looks that good at the moment, and Swayman was very good but I don't put him in the same category as the other "elite" 3. Canes have basically faced Vezina finalists and future Hall of Famers every year.
    Not to mention the last two teams that eliminated us happened to be coached by the two guys that coached RBA to his two Cup Finals appearances in a Hurricanes sweater.

    Carolina had no business losing to the Rangers. Anderson and kochetcov had a combined 0.878 save percentage. Anderson had two games in the playoffs at a 0.82 save percentage.... 2 games in the series they had an 18% chance of the puck going in per shot. I don't think it's Carolinas fault. I think Anderson needs to block 5 to 8 more shots a game.
