      no its not, because people just keep wanting you to work on more stuff for free. If I work on it, you're GONNA pay, then they will quit bothering you. 30 yrs. of fixing will prove it.

    Well, anytime we turn something key-like to start or engage a mechanical device to be started, "on" is normally to the right, and "off" is usually to the left.

    Nice work to fix the problem. It was quite obvious once the belly pan came off. You've probably already had time to digest their on/off switch. Agreed - the diagram they used is quite confusing. But the lock means closed which means on, and the unlock means open which means off. Again, maybe not the best choice of images. The bottom right icon shows an engine turning with the piston going up and down. I feel your pain - very frustrating!

    This is a good video to watch if you want to learn from someone else's mistakes. He should have cleaned things better, oil and greased things as he went along.
    That being said, he did get the job done, and I did learn something.

    • @MowersNBlowers
      @MowersNBlowers  2 года назад

      The machine isn’t that old…greasing and cleaning wasn’t necessary and not too hard to simply the take the cover off and spray some lube if you needed to. I’ve got other videos that show lubing and cleaning on machines that actually did need it.

      @@MowersNBlowers My reply to Henry's reply: Five minutes time and $1.00 worth of grease and oil could save YOU problems in the future. You have given this snowblower back to Dawn and her husband Who, ( evidently ), do not know anything about fixing stuff. They could not even take the cover off the see the obvious problem.
      Who do YOU thing is going to be working on this machine in the future. ( hint - YOU HENRY, ) I am not saying you did a bad job, just thinking a squirt of oil here, and a dab of grease there, could help keep it out of your garage in the future, that's all.
      Learning from other peoples mistakes is MUCH better than learning from MY mistakes. Keep up the good work.

  • @norge696

    orientation of the friction disc doesn't matter. it's literally a circle. 🤪
    I replaced a fraction disc on a 2005 craftsman. I had to line it up with the sprocket, shift yolk along with 4 washers and bearings. the washers kept falling off. With lots of kussing and 10 minutes later I finally got it.

    Disappointing seeing a 5-year-old snowblower that might get used 3-4 times/year on Long Island (avg. annual snowfall 32.5 ") deteriorate like that. Then again, there's also visible rust on the engine, etc., so could be the neighbor simply doesn't take care of it.

    To remove the friction disc, you only have to remove the left side ball bearing, slide the chain sprocket to the right a little, so that you can lift the axle out of the chain and right ball bearing. It was the chain and chain sprocket that prevented you from pulling the axle out. The chain sprocket was tight fitting, so I didn't want to come out.
