Excellent tutorial but why not just copy the cable from the source and and make it a non-main function? Also, wouldn't you achive the same thing with connection points?

Basically you're right. But depending on your message management setting your solution will create fault messages because you have two connection points on one connection. If you don't use this message it's fine
