In my opinion I think that little judd may have taken over the company somehow, but I don’t necessarily think that means he’s evil though it’s still possible. There’s plenty of official cannon sources in and out of the games themselves talking about how salmonids and inkling society have an ongoing back and forth conflict. Salmonids invade inkling society and destroy and kill, and inklings invade salmonid territory and do the same. We can even see this in game now with the new mode where you fight salmonids in the regular maps. There’s also the fact that power eggs are a power source, grizz only needed the golden eggs for the ooze so it very well may be that he sold the power eggs for all the company equipment, advertising, and stuff like that. For all we know golden eggs are just a much stronger power source and could be very profitable even if morally questionable. I think lil judd definitely has some strong connection to grizz co but I don’t necessarily think he’s evil, I also think that having the dlc’s campaign villain just be grizzco again would be a bit underwhelming

in the official art of splatoon 2, it says that lil judd is waiting for his chance to backstab judd, because he is mad that his entire purpose was for quote: to keep judd from getting lonely". AND in sunken scroll 23 of splatoon 3 it describes lil judd's preparations for a future assassination attempt on judd. i think lil judd is posing as mr grizz to get golden eggs and power eggs to power some device hes using for what he's doing. AND mr grizz seems nicer and more soft in his broadcast toward the crew. like after defeating cohozuna, he says things like "whoa, didn't expect an extra wave." or if you lose he says "at least you tried, but you still got a LOT of golden eggs!" so maybe DLC or splatoon 4 we will have to stop lil judd's plan and save judd.

The lil Judd theory's interesting and probably true. But here's the thing.. Mr. Grizz (Or at least his voice) is much more kind/Lil Judd-like to you in Splatoon 3, even if you don't finish the story mode. Does this mean that Lil Judd has/had connections with Mr. Grizz before the events of Splatoon 3 story mode?
It would make sense, since Mr. Grizz probably would have been most delighted when he met another mammal on Earth. Perhaps Lil Judd was his backup? Lil Judd might also be using the eggs for another purpose, perhaps trying to backstab Judd? If that were the case, I'd like to imagine Mr. Grizz wouldn't necessarily be upset about it, as he comes to accept the fact that the Earth is different at the end of hero mode. And, I mean, since he doesn't have a need for Grizzco anymore, of course he would hand it to someone he trusted, like.. A fellow mammal.

In one of the Japanese Splatoon 2 interviews, the splatoon team explained that what you hear from Mr. Grizz's radio is text to speech, not a voice. They also throw in the idea that you don't know who or if anyone is even on the other side, how it could be automated (or a robot since it's TTS but I don't think that applies since we know who he is now).
They also explain that Grizzco uses the power eggs to provide power to the world and other corporations (in addition to his own use for the golden eggs) so it makes sense that it would still be around if he disappears. Salmonoids only trade with Octarians and even then, they don't trade their golden eggs so salmon run is the only way for inklings to get this source of power. He was the CEO but he likely had other Corporate employees working under him (even if they didn't know about his plan). I wouldn't be surprised if one of them included a certain fish eating mammal named lil Judd.

And i think mr. grizz gives lil gudge orders or tips to run the company from space. Why, Money? Responsibility as a big provider of jobs and energy? Or does he plan another invasion?

  • @Z-Vee

Few other things of note. In an interview from Splatoon 2, it was stated that the messages might just be pre-recorded. Perhaps Mr. Grizz had Grizz Co. fully automated so he could spend all his time developing Fuzzy Ooze.
Additionally, Lil' Judd uses a Salmon Run themed card sleeve and uses near exclusively Salmon Run and Salmonid cards in Table Turf Battle.

Grizzco also pays really well for the most part. There's a high chance of getting over 35k cash in just a few runs. So if the Squidbeak Splatoon were to shut it down immediately, it would cause a lot of ripples in the economy. We know from story mode too that there are a large amount of needy people in Splatsville that Deep Cut would feel the need to do something about it. And taking away a job provider in town without a proper plan to transfer employment could put a lot of people in a bad position, and Callie Marie and 3 would know better than to do that.
I'm probably overthinking it, of course.

woah this certainly is quite interesting. this whole time i imagined it as all being prerecorded messages run by the staff/marigold, and since they never met grizz in person they would probably also not have realised anything has changed, especially more likely with the multiple grizzco branches in various location.

Mr. Grizz still speaking was explained in an interview with one of the Splatoon 2 directors. Those are likely prerecorded messages. And Salmon Run is a large scale business. Eggs are another source of energy and Grizzco probably provides them for other companies like weapon brands which provide Grizzco with weapons in return. Grizzco is probably just such a large and important company for the cities that they overlook the shady side for a stable provider of energy.
But someone else took the boss position after Story probably (Lil' Judd).

The scroll I talk about is scroll 17.

Man, probably the fastest Nintendo IPs to establish a complicated timeline. The first game already started it, but after only 8 years, one of the most complex timelines of Nintendo was created. Xenoblade being the only other contender, but it took 8 years to get Xenoblade 2 to establish that timeline connection. But then again, that 8 years gave birth to the origins of everything in the Xenoblade multiverse, so I’d say it probably beats Splatoon.

Xenoblade only pays homage to Xenosaga. They added Kos-Mos as a reference, and they had to get rights from Bandai Namco to even put her in the game. Also, Xenoblade is entirely owned by Nintendo since they bought out Monolith back in 2007.

So hear out, a vid I watched yesterday on Salmonid lore kind of explains why we still do salmon run and I got preface this vid was made a year ago in January. In this vid it said that the Salmonid had a spartan like culture that believe in the circle of life way more then a sentient race should their whole goal is to be eaten and that they don't like their golden eggs stolen. Also neither side is entirely innocent as apparently Inklings and possibly other creature eat Salmon (shown in the mall stage apparently) and Big Run is a thing where the Salmonid attack inkopolis
Side note: Once upon a time while trying to figure out what this large scale dlc for Splatoon 3 would be, one of these ideas was a dlc campaign thing known as "The lair of the bear" where Pearl and Marina were investigating Grizzco on why Big Run happens

I have a couple things to say
1 - pretty sure all of mr grizz's lines are prerecorded, I may be wrong so please correct me if so
    2 - about lil judd
He looks fuzzier than in splatoon 2 and is know that there's a rivalry between him and judd
He did in fact take over grizzco, comproved by tableturf battle
Here lil judd uses all salmon run mobs and even the grizzco card sleeves
Another thing related to tableturf, lil judd's speech is rather... villan-ish
"This isn't just a game, no place for the weak" so on
We may interpretate his lines in multiple ways but it does sound like he cafes about the bigger picture, someone shall reign supreme
3 - extra theory, the clones
I think (again not sure sorry, please double check) that lil judd is judd's clone
+ the last tableturf opponent is a clone jelly
So what's up with these clones? Who is creating them and what purpose do they serve?
We could indeed still have another mamlian problem (or something else) with the dlc if someone or something holds this power
    Idk
Lil judd just seems very suspicious and I tried to phrase it the best I could
