it was nice seeing everyone team up to beat him.

I love how Splatoon went from “we have to stop an octopus stealing our electricity” to “we have to stop genocide” lol
Depressed homicidal bear tries to destroy world. Random 14 year old child and a Dj octopus take him down and send him into vacuum of space
@@Chaos_Fantasmic or in better words, a minor, an octopus DJ and some Celebrities save the world from becoming furries.
im so sorry to say but the first two splatoon games were consistent with your 1st and 2nd prompt
"the octopus is stealing our electricity"
"the octopus is stealing our electricity again"
"a speaker box is threatening our existence with an extinction event"
"a bear is threatening our existence with an extinction event and the return of mammila"
Genocide twice
The fact that Mr. Grizz spent 12,000 years fully conscious with nobody’s company but his own is so sad. Loneliness and the sorrow of discovering that all mammals have perished corrupted him so much he tried to bring them back, even if it meant committing genocide. But in the end, he accepted that the era of mammals is over and accepted his fate.
I guess he try to gone full Tartar, is because he suffer the similar thing as Tartar. Loneliness really can corrupts the minds isn’t it ?
And now, I wonder if the next final boss is gonna be birds, insects or other creatures.
The funny thing is that, in the end he was wrong. He isn't the only mammal left. If only he had encountered the Judds, he might not have turned out this way.
@@LordSiravant Judd and Lil Judd are now the only true mammals in the world. I’m hoping that Judd will be alright because rumor has it, Lil Judd resents him
Well dang when you put it like that I do feel bad for him. I hope maybe he'll meet Judd and see he's not the last mammal
@@BergmitetheBlueandPointy0712
Tartar wasn't corrupted by loneliness, but by bad morals. He was evil to the core. There's a reason he's shown dying while Grizz is "merely" exiled in Space.
Grizz was a way more sneaky opponent, but with the limited ressources he had it was partially sensible and it is even implied he was manipulated by the Goo during the boss fight.
Tartar's only instruction was to find the successor of humanity, and pass it knowledge. Being in the unexpected case of finding two dominent species, he decided to wait to determine which one was worthy (Strike one : he could've given knowledge to BOTH)
Then he decided that constant fighting and discriminating people over minor cosmetic differences was unworthy of humanity's knowledge (Strike two : maybe he should've read an history book?)
And, as a result, the OBVIOUSLY sensible solution was to create a new race to replace the other two ones.
Tartar genuinely wanted to bring destruction to fulfill his moral viewpoint about what deserves to live.
Put blundly, Tartar saw himself as a God of pure moral who would never stop.
Grizz, on the other hand, saw something opposite to the "natural order" *that we witnessed*. He was gifted with knowledge in a cryo sleep accident, and contrary to Tartar he has a limited life.
Distraught to discover he is the only survivor of his entire specie and animal group, destiny gave him access to the remnants of humanity. From there the power of fixing what he considered a problem was given to him by the cristals, that had imprinted the desires of humanity, including the desire of expanding the territory.
Grizz wanted to recreate life that was lost, and to manage it (maybe affected by the Goo's desire of expansion?) had to target the entire Earth.
Put blundly, Grizz saw himself as a tool, Humanity's last chance to undo their errors. He was misaimed sure, but he had a genuine intent.
We fought an octopus, a singer, a telephone, and now a teddy bear. God I love splatoon
Next, maybe insects, and then humans.
Earthbound ass bosses
Goofy ahh bosses 💀
Hahahahaha lol

Loosing to mr grizz is honestly one of the freakiest things in the series
right like oh my god
Yeah both him and commander Tartar
I feel like it's much creepier with Mr Grizz than with TarTar. Something about seeing the whole planet get absorbed by the fuzz unsettles me, as well as just hearing Mr Grizz laugh during the process
Feddy Faber
@@benjithehedgeling the realisation that that musical sting is his laugh, and he’s been maniacally laughing SINCE THE SECOND GAME was one of those mini-mind-blown moments for me.
Everything was happening too fast during this finale... I was speechless when I beat the final boss. I still can't get over the fact Grizz was a freaking steroid infused, teleporting, talking, half-goo, immortal, REAL bear. Then again, I was so satisfied when Octavio finally joined the good side and made up with Cuttlefish :)
Perhaps the next Splatoon villains could be other new sea creatures, then birds, insects, and lastly survived or/and mutated humans.
Edit: For the non human animals for the new villains, I personally recommend python, tiger, elephant, polar bear, vulture, eagle, komodo dragon, spider and rhinoceros beetle.
@@BergmitetheBlueandPointy0712
"and lastly survived or/and mutated humans"
According to the logs, humans had a very narrow chance of surviving, and the remaining survivors on Earth wiped themselves out in Alterna when the rocket damaged the cavern.
However... the logs don't say that Polaris was the only spaceship, and DJ Octavio has access to casual space travel...
@@BergmitetheBlueandPointy0712 I'd say insects would be the best choice, or reptiles, or something original
Don't forget that Craig and Octavio were old friends before the war. From everything Octavio has seen through the series, he has witnessed and felt how he and his Octoling brethren reacted to the Calamari Inkantation(an ancient magical song, most likely written by their gods), how hundreds if not thousands or more of his kind were awakened from the oppressive Octarian society, many of them fleeing to Inkopolis and other Inkling areas for refuge and safety. How it happened again in Splatoon 2, how many of his kind were taken by Tartar and grounded to goo and reforged. He has seen how his Octoling kind welcomed back and integrated to Inkling society, as many were over 100 years ago. Not to say that all Octolings and Inklings are friendly(we don't know much about the entire world, could even be enemy Inklings out there). But he knows his kind are once again friends and allies of the Inklings for the most part. I think he knows there ARE worse enemies out there than the rival Inklings(who are the first born)
@@normanred9212 I personally recommend the Komodo Dragon.

The real villain was Capitalism all along!
I literally thought exactly that. He is a metaphor for capitalism and the fuzz is greed, eventually destroying our world unless we stop the system. But maybe im looking too much into it
@Alejandro Lam capitalism is the past, just as feudalism was before it, and chattel slavery was before that
No, it was Senator Armstrong wearing a bear suit this whole time.
this story mode is so fucking good you fight a capitalist ceo and team up with a bunch of anarchists to do it
He's not doing any of this for money though, it's for the preservation of his kind.
You also have to appreciate the design between Hugefry and Mr. Grizz. Hugefry is actually radiating light while Mr. Grizz is utter darkness.
Now isn’t that poetic!

I like how the music gets more and more chaotic as you get further up the rocket
anarchy with harmony
Also the singing sounds more and more like a human voice the further it goes. And humans were mamals
i heard its based on how mr grizz slowly lost his sanity. Before all this human extinction shit humans put some mammals on a space rocket and most of them died while mr was still alive next to corpses. something like that, its not accurate
I like the detail of the rocket countdown being in ENGLISH
Yeah I noticed too
Tbh that went over my head when I first heard it but now it’s such a cool detail
You can also hear calls over the loudspeaker in the hub world that are spoken in english. They're really hard to hear clearly, but via the in-game files you can hear them clearly
@@thecaptain0003 that’s such a cool detail. The amount of stuff they put into a sub mode of the game is incredible
Is it because it’s a rocket from the humans that are extinct?
The fact the fight music is just the Salmon Run theme but presented in a more... Happier tune is something
Also the Curling bomb is your best friend for the first rotation.
I never thought about using the curling bomb! I'll give it a try when I get the chance!
I wish I would’ve known that yesterday.
Exactly my thought. Helped SO MUCH
Man, this was perhaps THE BEST FINAL BOSS in the series. The fact that DJ Octavio joined in to help was even better. I feel like Mr. Grizz was possibly taking notes from Commander Tartar. And thought he, Mr.Grizz, could do it better.
This boss was amazing, but nothing beats the Octavio showdown in the first game. Maaan.
I like how even after being defeated, Mr Grizz remains calm. I like those sorts of antagonists.
This is the one and only time we hear actual English in the entire series.
Well actually octo expansion had backwards English in the blender scene
Not really hearing, but there's a sign in Ruins of Ark Polaris that say "Warning Active Bear Area" in English
@@Nahobinoah I think the salmon run victory theme has some reversed english too
“Salmon run is such a fun mode!”
“What did it cost?”
“everything…”
Worth it tho
"Our species"
Fun fact: After you beat Mr Grizz, the statue in Grizzco changes to a salmon eating a bear
And it also Implies that Little Judd took over because he now has a headpiece during battles after Story Mode!
Mr. Grizz being revealed as a bigass bear was so cool and also completely terrifying.
His line of "I think you've earned yourself a break. Now come here so I CAN BREAK YOU." is both badass and terrifying
His theme being so calm yet hectic is fitting towards his character. Completely focused and calm, even when he has to accept that the time of mammals is long past.
if we all thought this fight was hell,
just wait for the Secret Kettle level.
iv been stuck in the octoling fight for like 2 days vro 😭😭😭
It has been almost a YEAR since I got this game and After Alterna is STILL ruining my life.
I noticed that in splatoon 2, an island of pieces of spaceship in salmon run, and now 5 years later, here’s the space ship all together
Now y'all can't even lie- this was better than the final boss for Octo expansion
It was awesome but I would be surprised if most people didn’t agree that OE’s final boss is still the best to date
I think commander tartar was a better villain. His motive of 'killing everyone' made sense because he was insane. But Mr Grizz? He managed to infiltrate inkling society where he couldve done some damage and make the return of the mammalians story extra juicy. Instead he just became another generic world ending villain who spews themed one liners. Its a shame really because he was my favourite character in 2
@@Christian-jc6gf he never really wanted to end the world just turn everything into mammals
@@Christian-jc6gf you really didnt understood his character then, he wasnt going to end the world, but make the mammals come back with the ooze he created.
And to be honest, its a more reasonable and logical plan than commander tartar, even if i really liked it.
His plan isn't to end the world, it's to bring back the mammals. The end of the world is just a side effect.
I love that Big Man pulls out a space helmet out of nowhere. He's prepared for anything.
24:26 Well, you can actually see that IS Mr. Grizz floating around out there. I was trying to find a good shot of his face; now I have it.
I love the sounds that small fry does when he ascends.
it gives me pure serotonin and in dangerous amounts.
I hope grizz will be okay, I know he’s evil but I genuinely liked him as a character and really enjoyed salmon run. I hope something happens in the future that has him come back and hopefully be good again or something, if not then oh well it’s alright. I just really liked him as a character
Besides that THIS WAS AN INCREDIBLE ENDING AND STORYMODE OCTAVIO LETS GOOOOOOOOO
The thing is he’s literally just floating through space curled up
I'd do anything for this sweet little meow meow
Eh he's fine. You see him literally rolling in space now. As for what's planned for him next... Who can say.
I think it’d be funny if he just hangs out with Lil Judd in front of the Salmon Run station in the main plaza, just two murderous mammals chillin and plotting their evil schemes
Saaaame, I am profreshional in Splatoon 2 cuz I Played salmon run too many times, and seeing Grizzco acting like a selfish but some times cool boss made me really like him.
At Splatoon 3's hero Mode, goddamit, I SCREAMED when I heard his voice and recognized it, like "OMFG ITS GRIZZCO??? ITS GRIZZCO ITS GRIZZTODHOSNDKENR", and I was super excited to see REAL Grizzco for the first time, and it didnt disapointed.
Agent 3: Fighting a huge deadly bear that’s about to destroy the world
The music: Hehe happy jingle!
If it helps you feel better, just listen to It Has To Be This Way.
lmao
something else that's got me like damn is that in a way, all of the big villains (excluding Octavio) that have done incredibly dangerous things and nearly wiped out the world are a result of humanity's actions.
Commander Tartar and his Blender and Blender Deathray: A human trying to preserve their knowledge for a future species, ends up killing over 10000 sentient creatures and using their remains to create a zombified army
Grizz; Humans try to preserve some animal life and end up having one survive for 12000 years while concious and lonely, driving it to commit genocide to try and recreate the world it once knew
Even the octolings and inklings and their giant turfwar can be linked to humans, being that they were driven to seek the surface because of their origins (the crystals in alterna which were filled with hopes and feelings of humans to go to the surface) so the octarians would want to try to go to the surface, and fight to do so
tl;dr
humans are the cause of all conflict in splatoon
I had always assumed that Mr. Grizz was running a shady operation. I never would had expected him to be something sinister. By the way check out the statue at Grizzco after completing story mode.
Also, other things that change after hero mode allude to lil Judd taking over from Mr Grizz. Odd how you still hear Mr Grizz though. Callie flat out asked who's leading Salmon Run now.
@@unevennoble9363it is a radio. Maybe Mr Grizz had some lines pre-recorded which is simply being played by the new operator
Somehow the concept of a final boss in Splatoon being an evil capitalist bear kinda makes sense...

Quick question, what is stopping Octavio from taking over after Agent 3 dies? I mean, Agent 3 was hopping into the cockpit to steer the machine, and in a cutscene, you can see that Octavio is in the cockpit. So, nothing should be stopping Octavio from taking over the controls.
(Also, another question, how do the enemies damage you while you are in the hatch when the enemies are outside the hatch?)
i have the same question abt the enemies damage while in hatch 😭 like how did that even happen. i kid u not the amount of times i screamed “how does that work??!?!” when an enemy pops up mid shooting a fuzzball

Bruh Mr Grizz treating the end of the world like it’s a average work day for him until he gets “FIRED” if you know what I mean
Grizzco fears the salmonid army. After you beat story mode, you can see the Grizzco radio has changed from a bear eating a salmon, to a salmon eating the bear.
Gotta love the Salmon Run lobby music being remixed into some sort of boss theme during the rocket section. I thought that was really creative!
