Having went to this HCS event and pretty much all events since year one, i would say this was one of the most passionate events I’ve experienced. You may not think of the Brit’s when you think of Halo, but just cause you’re not aware of them doesn’t mean that them and the entirety of Europe fan base doesn’t exist. Which is honestly what we need for Halo to keep growing, in today’s esports world we need to be supportive of expanding beyond NA.
Also it was held in a massive sports stadium, which I give, does look small to the viewer. Its does have that hotel conference vibe from that perspective. But being there, felt way different than typical convention halls. You were able to watch some games and then head outside near the pitch pretty easily which was a unique experience and felt like a cool mix of esports and traditional sports.
What I think this event did pretty well given the circumstance of its venue was realize how much we miss the passionate of the main stage when the players were directly across from each other. We see this at feature streams at typical convention halls, but not on main stage with direct camera views, which lead to some pretty fun clips.
Do I wish they had a more fluid venue where the feature and main area were connected, yeah. Would I say this was a disappointment and poor atmosphere, absolutely not.

I mean if you had attended the event you would have realised they doubled the capacity due to demand which resulted in compressing the seating and setups to accommodate more people. Having actually attended the event it was excellent. Yeah the room wasn't great due to the compromises made but the atmosphere and passion was unrivalled compared to American events.

Yeah having also attended the event, at no point did I not have a good time. The passion and the atmosphere was absolutely insane. The seating setup, while clearly cheaper than US Majors felt really personal, being right next to the main stage where the pros were playing. And the 360 seating was a really cool touch to add to the experience.
I genuinely don’t think they thought it would sell nearly as well as it did, having the tickets sold out instantly and then again once they rigged it to fit more seats.
I reckon they’ll put more into it next year now that they know we will show up. But who knows, the atmosphere might degrade if they go bigger and you can’t sit/stand next to main stage

I really hope so. I want halo esports to succeed from all fronts.

It really was unrivaled and like Tashi said, London sold 30-40% more tickets than Arlington. Flashy venue don't make the event, games and crowd does. A lot of the pros said they haven't experienced such hype atmosphere ever in the US. Stellur being the only one who had something "negative" to say, which was basically that the crowd was so hyped that he had difficulties to get in a "bubble" that he apparently needs to be able to perform the best he can. The crowd was too hyped for him, which is pretty funny.😂 Also, huge bonuses, you could watch the players from all angles. Usually people are able to stare at the back of their monitors or see only one of the players from each team from the side, both extremely lame options tbh. 360° stage was honestly fire.

Pros said UK fans were nutty (had more passion was implied). And I saw at least 2 pros say they enjoyed the venue (Bubu and Bound post series win interviews).

@@SpamStufflol Yet you made this video blasting HCS and the EU community when you clearly did not have all the information about the event. IDK, that comment seems really disingenuous with how you spoke in the video

I've been to 4 hcs events including the kickoff in Raleigh, and man the decline of each event venue every season is depressing

That event was held at a middle school library. Truly despicable

The London main stage made me cringe. Looks like an event from 2013-2014.
FaZe not celebrating AT ALL after winning a Major Tournament was an insult.

Yeah I think Faze not celebrating was a statement… like as if they purposefully talked about not celebrating if they won this

I'll be at world champs this year in Seattle. Here's hoping the stage looks like the previous champs stages and not like London. This might be the last HCS event for a while until a new game

I don't follow e-sports at all, as I honestly can't stand them. I play Halo (as well as most other games that I enjoy) for the storyline/lore, and overall I've been mostly happy with Infinite. But damn, this looks sad.

Halo Esports has always felt absolutely irrelevant, only time where it seemed somewhat present was halo 5, because of the armors and maps carrying over into multiplayer.
At least they don't full time balance the game around hcs players like they do in fucking r6 siege

you are not wrong the only thing is, it actually isn't a big franchise anymore. Almost everyone quit that I knew from H5 and the "older generation" of Halo players is just too old.

Yeah because infinite is, still, shit. Halo 5 was good, just had a shit campaign story, halo 4 was aight but people disliked the new style but infinite is just garbage all round.

As a brit who used to be into halo esports since 2, it dropped off big time. All passion went when reach was finished. Sad to say I'm glad I didn't bother to travel down there.
