@ea90744 Souther Calfornia is promoting its Clean Air when they offer CNG fuel at local gas station as well for cars, trucks, and more that run on CNG. No wonder why many of them are there in many fuel station there for publics
Now you know why. So many drivers from LACMTA Div 8 are so sad. Many drivers I know. Love these neoplans. And they would prefer to have the Nabis go. And have a Neoplan any day. I rode on this bus. And many of the sisters. These buses had power. And they kept going. Many drivers called the neoplans old relibles. They rarely broke down. When they was in service.
@ea90744 I wish i knew that they were up for sale. I may have bought one myself. I just wouldn't know how to get it across country being that it's cng and the tanks aren't as big as the roof mounted ones.
There is a number "8" on the lower curbside windshield. That bus use to be from LACMTA Division 8 in the chatsworth area. Division 8 used lots of Neoplans during the late 90s all the way to the end of 2009. That bus was fun to drive indeed. The only thing bad about it was the wheelchair lift, which breaks down often.
@venom2nd - Out of 30 Neoplans that went for auction, this one was in the best mechanical shape. There were 3 other buses that were complete exterior-wise. 4697 ( 1997 Neoplan ) had a few missing engine parts. # 4709 was complete with a few items missing
I drove this while it was in revenue service! I cannot believe you got this..Good luck with this one..The reason I remember this bus is because I broke off the right side mirror on the 150 line at balboa and ventura..
@@thenovaandgilligguy8790 Nope but I rode buses all the time plus I talked to a couple of the mechanics. I moved north in 2008 so I have no idea what they have now.
GeekBoyMN ooooo okay. And now they have , nova hybrids, mci d4500 new flyers and some old style of new flyers but i think those are going off for auntion i dont see alot of the old ones anymore. I actually have some videos on my channel from houston buses if your interested. Cant wait to get back to my hometown which is flordia to record some gilligs and gillig low floors. Houston dosent have any of those. Are you orginally from houston?
@@thenovaandgilligguy8790 Lived there 87-08. Been in the Minneapolis-St Paul area since 2012. Mostly Gillig low floors, New Flyer articulated and a few Novas here.
DAMN that bus runs strong, though I wonder how it would sound with that New Flyer tailpipe though.... And #7414....perfection. Man, I miss those Detroits.
@MrDillonwiegand - slowly but surely, more CNG stations are being built. Theres a nice one they built in Long Beach not too long ago. 24hr accomidates both LNG and CNG
Yup,I even have the running board with the bus number written on it,I will bring it and show you on the trip next week.I was hoping and praying that metro wouldnt retire these so I could drive them one last time..Guess not :( Best buses they ever had besides the rts's..
at 6:46, that'd be my reaction if I owned this bus and I was driv'n it. Euphoria, total euphoria!!! Can't blame you there man. I'd be there too, absolutely.
If only it had a ZF-ECOMAT transmission :( The allison sounds good, but the ZF's enhance an L10 with the shrill noises it makes as the bus speeds up and the little shrill noises it makes in every gear-speed. also, note the Bass noise in the ZF transmission that go higher as the bus speeds up to
Nice! How long was this 1st ever Ex LACMTA bus was acquire after it was withdrawn from service? And speaking of CNG fuel station, are there lots of CNG fuel station down the road which makes people convenient to fill up their cng vehicle (as well as this one)?
5:29 Well DAMN I thought a Metrolink train was going across that crossing, not a Light Rail train. What a horn. Oh yeah, the bus sounds AWESOME...but you went with another one?
@ea90744 Souther Calfornia is promoting its Clean Air when they offer CNG fuel at local gas station as well for cars, trucks, and more that run on CNG. No wonder why many of them are there in many fuel station there for publics
@chrisj164 - im pretty sure if you go to a public auction in NYC u can buy one.since this is in california the rules are different
Now you know why. So many drivers from LACMTA Div 8 are so sad. Many drivers I know. Love these neoplans. And they would prefer to have the Nabis go. And have a Neoplan any day. I rode on this bus. @jiggatone7 - I want one of those Golden Gate Transit flexys so bad
Thank You!
@venom2nd - about 1.00 to 1.75 cheaper than diesel
That thing is fast .
@ea90744 I wish i knew that they were up for sale. I may have bought one myself. I just wouldn't know how to get it across country being that it's cng and the tanks aren't as big as the roof mounted ones.
@jamin108 - it sure is
@topper2142 - no wonder that mirror doesnt work lol
@zztee - lol. thank u
@6V92TA - roughly about $100
@DCAreaTransitFan - thank u
1979 RTD was in service around the year 2010. Why not keep the old rts buses and the nibi buses what a shame.
Stupid question but, are you allowed to test-drive/buy buses in NYC? Just wondering, since you all know so much lol.
@XxInsaneMikexX - My friend Danny in the video also has # 4681.
Okay Eddie I know you traded this one for 4681...so why not a Video of 4681! lol
@jiggatone7 Especially that take off shout from the heavy vibration of the exhaust as the bus accelerates.
@POOH875 - haha i saw yur video
@ea90744 You have to man I love Neoplans to death
@ea90744 You have to man lol I love Neoplans if I had the money I would get one of those buses myself and Drive it all the way Back To Pittsburgh!

@seClip9 - it can be fueled anywhere that has a high pressure Fuel nozzle. The nozzle is usually black in color
@ea90744 Do some local fuel station have those fuel up their CNG vehicle?
@MetroLinerXLZ - prolly sound the same...but yeah this Neoplan has all kinds of personality
I drove this while it was in revenue service! I cannot believe you got this..Good luck with this one..The reason I remember this bus is because I broke off the right side mirror on the 150 line at balboa and ventura..
You had to wipe the seat after driving this one. Do you still have the RTS? Also, how does it cost to fuel this bus?
@ea90744 Since there are many CNG fuel station there due to high popularity there in Souther California, can it be fuel up there?
Man! Driving that looks like fun!
I love the sound that nabi howling
Anjuar Underwood it's a neoplan.
All the Neoplans in Houston and Dallas back in the late 80's into the 90's had those 2-stroke Detroits that took all day to get moving.
GeekBoyMN oooo mann really?? Im in houston right now but i think the buses suck. Was you a driver back than??

4:14 That fan clutch did it for me!!!!
@TheTransitMan123 - mmhmm lol.
@1MTSRider
Awesome!!! I used to live in LA and I loved when the new bus came, when it was new.
DAMN that bus runs strong, though I wonder how it would sound with that New Flyer tailpipe though....
And #7414....perfection. Man, I miss those Detroits.
@WMATAvids - yes these buses have the "kneel" feature. The wheelchair lift
@MrDillonwiegand - slowly but surely, more CNG stations are being built. Theres a nice one they built in Long Beach not too long ago. 24hr accomidates both LNG and CNG
@1MTSRider - if u ever get to Downtown LA, stand along Broadway... they sound awesome between the buildings.
Does this bus lower? And have a wheelchair lift?
i'm sorry, i meant to say how much does it cost to fuel this bus?
@seClip9 - yes they do. theres about 200 CNG Fueling stations in California...more or less.
@ea90744 U drive a bus so smoothly and make it look easy. YOU TURN A 40FT BUS WITH ONE ARRM! thats amazing!
Eddie bro bro
@WMATAvids - kneel and w/c lift works
Hey does this backfire?
I remember when these was brand new, I love that! This is the of LACMTA Line 210 from 1997 to 2006.
Damn that blue line operator was on that horn all the way through the the crossing
@1MTSRider - what was amazing about this bus, it just has so much power. I will miss these buses, and the L10G
how
much did that cost you
speechless.....im trying to go on this trip though....ESPECIALLY if this is on it!
at 4:10 OMG love it, love the sound. Best sound on a bus, L10G, period!
@23AClark - sounds like those 200 series CNG Orion Vs that Long Island Bus used to have
I remember working with these buses back in 2003 at division 8 in Chatsworth when I was a service attendant for metro
OMG That's the Neoplan I took to the La Brea Tar pits in my 2nd grade field trip in 1997. ^^ And she DID and continues to have alot of power.
Nice Eddie Nice!!!! Get a Flxible now! LOL I love them LA Neoplans! They sound hot!!!!!!
Do you still have this bus ?
@venom2nd - I still have the RTS and havent forgotten about it. In fact, I just topped off the fuel tank a few days ago.
@markdm4805 - I totally agree with you. these LA Neoplans are pretty darn good
@6V92TA - anywhere that has a high-fill cng fuel nozzle.
@jfrog1983 - When the engine fan kicks in, there is No loss of power.
Looks like I need not save too much money, already got a place to store it, and if CNG is cheaper than diesel then there's a perfect bus for me!
Yup,I even have the running board with the bus number written on it,I will bring it and show you on the trip next week.I was hoping and praying that metro wouldnt retire these so I could drive them one last time..Guess not :( Best buses they ever had besides the rts's..
@PATJonesy - I made one yesterday afternoon. it will be posted up either tomorrow or monday.
@topper2142 - lol. i cant believe u drove this bus in service. You shall check it out next weekend. It may be out on the trip.
@jfrog1983 - I fuel up my Neoplan at any fuel station that sells CNG and have a 3000-3500PSI rating.
Nice one brother
@PATJonesy - I will make a video of 4681 maybe today or later on tonight when some of us local busfans hang out.
Nice bus this bus is fast and rides good
at 6:46, that'd be my reaction if I owned this bus and I was driv'n it. Euphoria, total euphoria!!! Can't blame you there man. I'd be there too, absolutely.
@mmZo6 - next weekend !!!
They sure do.
to make it back to pittsburgh u really need to find a CNG Fuel facility that has high pressure fueling...which I really need to make a video of too.
So how many of these do they have for sale over there? I would so buy one and drive it all the way back to Pittsburgh in a heartbeat!
If only it had a ZF-ECOMAT transmission :( The allison sounds good, but the ZF's enhance an L10 with the shrill noises it makes as the bus speeds up and the little shrill noises it makes in every gear-speed. also, note the Bass noise in the ZF transmission that go higher as the bus speeds up to
I love that engine. I'm moving to LA sometime in the future, where are you guys.
whoever u gave the camera to should sit in the back so we can hear the turbo power even better! :)
Nice! How long was this 1st ever Ex LACMTA bus was acquire after it was withdrawn from service? And speaking of CNG fuel station, are there lots of CNG fuel station down the road which makes people convenient to fill up their cng vehicle (as well as this one)?

I approve of this shit!!! Nice video Eddie! Very nice!!!
I would also like to know about CNG fuel cost and where to fuel up. Also, is there a noticable loss of power whenever the engine fan kicks on?
Damn you Eddie, Damn you!!!! lol this thing sound good mmm!!!
Ooo shit! Cant wait to ride it!
God damn Eddie!! YES!!! I love the L10G!!
I like this kinda bus but he should have tilted the steering wheel back i dont even drive like that
Dude wtf, tilt the steeringwheel! :O
Where do you fill up since in CNG?
@jrosscsu06 - I hope you can make it on the trip next saturday. Email me and let me know where you'll be coming from.
