If you have it as an option, just chose WASAPI as sound device, it is usually preinstalled and allows for quite good latency aswell.

I noticed latency when playing drums on my mpk mini2. I downloaded Asio4all, set it to 128 (my sweet spot) and problem fixed. Thanks a lot!!
This has fixed no end of problems for me. Had a ton of latency so recording was a pain and even playback so nearly gave up on reaper on my PC to go back to pro tools. Fixed in one go so i can finally use it. Thank you

I've gone from a Line 6 (it's paased on) TonePort to an M-Audio Fast Track & the latency was driving me nuts- even tips on cockos's official forum did not work so thanks for this tutorial ! I've subscribed & added TFR to my faves - many thanks!

Your interface may not be a low latency interface.
If you have a "Mix" knob that says something like DAW and input.. you use that to mix your Mic and your playback.

Hi I’m having an issue when I render files, I have ASIO, a focusrite 2i2, and things sound great in my DAW, but when I render it into a wav file it sounds quiet and loses low end, ive seen this a lot on RUclips but no actual solution, just people saying that ASIO provides the better sound quality while IN the DAW, no explanations on how to achieve the same sound when rendered.

Input:
"Not connected 1"
and "Not connected 2"
Same for Output.

I have an MPK mini 2 and running it on Reaper, my problem is that i cant get my MPK to show up as an option for the Asio Driver... the only selection that im able to pick is ASIO4ALLv2. does anyone have any experience?

Probably because the MPK isn't an audio device but a MIDI device...
you don't need it too. i have MPK mini mkII as well and it works fine without showing up on ASIO
I have a problem im trying to use reaper on a mac every time i try to hear why i recorded it wont play the sound through head phones nor through the computer pls help

I was using Boss me 25 as usb interface for a month smoothly but after that problem started. Usb cable i changed twice now but most time the tone studio cant recognise midi device hence not connect and i use reaper,there also after sometime the guitar connection fails. Earlier I was using Windows 10 but someday back rebooted to windows 8 but still the same problem persists. Can you pls help me???? Is my usb interface in the processor having fault?? Am getting frustrated everyday for last three weeks as am trying to resort this and play music but cannot.
I want to get a Digidesign MBox 2 USB recording interface cause my mobile pre crapped out on me. Do you have any clue if it will be compatible with reapers?

So I'm on the road working and the only thing I could bring is my computer, guitar, and Rocksmith cable. Well I'm having horrible issues with this god awful feedback sound. Iv tried everything but no solutions. Does anybody know how to fix this?
I'm using a Zoom G5, attempting to record my guitar. For some reason there is no playback, all of my tracks inputs change to the zoom, and the output doesnt go to my speakers. Just attempting to fic my latency.. somehow it's impossible.

So you didn't say something for the sound.I put the buffer to 2048 samples but i have no Sound i put a latency faders to 512 in & out but still no sound.Do you know why??

i there, i got a problem with my reaper,,i didn't change nothing, with setup, and when i open reaper, i got the sound that stops and he came's like a pulse,,not continous,even the backtrack stop when i press play,, ,can anybody tell me how to solve this?,,yesterday was running fine,,, ;(

the asio just distorts the audio for me, no matter what settings I use.
Using asio on my computer causes it to crash every time, even when the driver is installed. Is this a problem with my sound card? Is there a different sound driver I can try?

Keese PBKMusic On every track in the mixer there is a red circle that looks similar to a record button. This is the ARM track button. You can turn recording on/off for each individual track by clicking it. Hope this helps!
Hey I need some help every time I press the recording button on reaper it pops up recording error can't write recording file does the directory exist can you please help me I've looked all over for a awnser on how to fix it but I can't find any thing
I had this problem. I created a new directory and copied the files to it. I reopened it and it worked. You can google other answers but they did not make sense to me. So I put it in another directory and it worked.
