Love this kinda stuff! Ive wanted to make more boost for awhile and plugging my waste gate tube didn't work so I'll definitely try this! Great idea!!
Wish I had known this before I spent the money on my Banks Big Head Actuator.. I'm running it at 42psi pulling my boost gauge from My Banks Monster Ram and also stock head bolts with no issues..

@jacksonsummers8820 No problems.. Yet, 347 k on the block and head.. New rod and main bearings on the bottom end and not a puff of blowby..Cracked exhaust manifold but I am replacing the stock cast iron with a new 3 piece manifold..

can you put one of those exhaust brakes on 48re truck? i have a bd diesel exhaust brake and its junk cant tell a difference when just have that on or tow haul mode on
On that rubber line you can take a small needle nose vice grips and clamp on it. That’s what we do do the Big Rigs. You should be able to gain 10psi easy. Less work

Interesting! Wonder how my edge tuner would feel about this mod, it freaks out with anything over 35 psi.......
Edge tuners usually fool the ecu to think boost doesn't go over 25psi so it would work well for you. You can just change at what psi it starts freaking out at.
My edge has a back off set at 39
With it off it will hit 44psi
Should I do this on a 99 with a Edge tuner, usually run in setting 2 or 3 rarely
How much power will it make on max boost
How would I do this with a Holset 2 with wastegate silinoid? Just wondering?
What kind of tires would you recommend for my truck? We have snow and ice mixtures around 3 to 4 months of the year where i'm at. Want something with decent tread life. How do yours do?
Very happy with my toyo open country mt's in all conditions. I do have lots of weight though.

A FYI i was running Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ P3 through the winter in Northern Michigan(Upper Peninsula) 06 Mega Cab , They were absolutely Terrible on the Ice, the rubber compound is way too hard, almost no traction. They look cool but definitely not worth the money if you do any winter driving. That being said they probably work great in Georgia / Florida in the clay /sand

Its been like that for years, no issues. Its all in the tuning.
@@Cumminslife Hey man, do you tune EFI live? 14 ram 3500. And would this trick work on my truck, not sure if its a different configuration. Im a few hours north of you got efi installed last year and it surges up hill back and forth, super annoying and it looks like you know your stuff
@@Cumminslifehey ik the videos old but I have a smarty tuner and I’ve got the rail turned all the way up big bang injectors that are slightly bigger and the tune at max it smoked like a train but my waste gate solenoid wire broke and I don’t want to pay 1500 for a solenoid so I blocked the waste gate and now it doesn’t smoke hardly at all do you think I will blow my head or damage the turbo it’s bored to the max and has the max bore head gasket doesn’t seem like I’m harming anything and how can I tell if I’m over spooling the turbo

Why not change spring instead? That way it'll still function. Or add a BOV set for the psi you want to eliminate compressor surge when you snap the throttle shut? Just a thought.
Well you cant replace the spring in the factory wastegate otherwise I would. And I have no problem with compressor surge, adding a bov would just be unnecessary complications.

pinch the wastegate line off. you will never make enough boost with a stock cp3 to hurt it. i have my IP maxed out and rev to 4000 rpm for 2 years plowing and towing heavy on a 400k 07 and not one issue. did the same to my 04 never a problem.
Yeah on stock or mild tunes you will never have any issues but with it turned up I can push stock turbo 60psi+ im sure she dont like that.
mine is maxed out on the tune. like i said i rev it to 4000, injector pump is maxed. otherwise 100% stock. i cant get more unless i add parts now.. trust me i've built some monsters including a 6.7 swap in an 06 mega cab with stroker pump, big turbo and injectors, and a way in the 4 digit 12v pulling truck i know what they can take.
What is maxed out to you? How much rail psi, duration and timing?
rail pressure. once it starts to drop much you need more pump. you can add all the timing you want but without fuel your not doing a lot. just flirting with head gasket issues, especially in a 6.7. we are running in the mid/high 30s with buddys pulling truck but its fire ringed and running a big p pump
So the ECU starts limiting fuel at 35psi of boost. How do you deceive the ECU?
You use a boost fooler or a tune.

👍👍👍over the last month or so , I've blocked off my wastgate.. the most psi I've seen is 37.. now I've got couple upgrades on my truck ..SMARTY S06 POD , FASS 150GPH cp3k (keeps fueling above 3k) 5inxh exhaust , S&B CAI and S&B intake horn .. 03 5.9 2500 305hp AUTO ... maybe I've got a boost leaK ??? im pretty good about keeping everything tight though .... any help would be great .. also thanks for showing us all theses little tricks with our ( early 3rd gens ) trucks 👍👍
Its possible that you have a boost leak but the tune and weight of truck are also major factors. hook up a trailer or increase your injector duration and you will see more boost.

More pressure on your exhaust manifold gaskets! Be prepared to blow them old ones out! Then after replacing them the next weakest parts are stressed like silicone hose boots!, Then old stock Turbo will die faster from More HEAT !. Think of that!
