Another thing I like about that final shot is that Cait's study has always had flowers in it, but before they were shoved away into a dark corner of the room, and in the epilogue they've been moved to sit right in the sunlight coming through the window and look much healthier and more colorful
Oh finally somebody noticed the parallelism. That was happened with me when i rewatched Arcane over and over again, and when i finished the last episode the next day i started the first episode and then i noticed that there is same melody so i went to digging deeper. The same song hummed by Powder in the beginning and by Vi in the end. And how this song turns into such heartbreaking melody. And how all of this started with Vi sees the enforcer and hates them and ended with Vi with enforcer who she loves. Such a beautiful path from hate to love, like the topic of the whole show. And you know there is line in this song: "Come across the river and find the world below". So caitvi coded, the show pay so much attention to them
There's also Arcane characters first lines and end scenes. Vi say "almost there", as she heads into Piltover to a Kiramman building where Caitlyn on the other side of the door. And at the end, Vi's there.
I think I thought about this season all wrong. I thought since season one was about Jinx’s trauma that season two would be about Vi’s trauma - thematically completing the yin and yang symbolism. But what if we had framed the story wrong? What if season one was about Jinx’s trauma and season two was about Vi’s faith? Not about Vi being able to heal all her trauma yet, but about her realizing her faith in people can get through to them. And they might pull through for her. I still think this idea could’ve been clearer in the writing, but if that’s what they meant, then that changes my whole perspective of their direction with Vi’s arc.
“Are you still in this fight, Violet?” is an ambiguous question and can mean many things: does Vi still have the will to fight for herself, Caitlyn/their relationship, their causes, their future, prioritising healing and trying not to fall into destructive ways like in 1:00 you mentioned. I really hope we get to see them again in the future 🤞🏽🥺 I really love the parallel of the first episode of s1 where Powder sees Vi crying, gets really sad and comforts Vi, and the finale she gives her a pleading smile and protecting/saving Vi. Despite their strained relationship, their love for each other never went away 🥹😭💖 I hope they get to reunite and get a proper (verbal) closing 🤞🏽. And Vi humming the bridge is a bittersweet moment; reminiscing Jinx, Vander and family, grieving but also honouring their memories to keep them alive by singing and sharing it with Cait (when Cait lightheartedly asks “is that singing?”) 🥺
That question seems to have many interpretations, maybe Cait asking Vi if she's ready/willing to overcome her grief/trauma/sadness, or establishing a somewhat stable future with Cait, even trying to be of help the Piltover/Zaun conflict, you name it. The way their relationship is written is like a magnet, keeps you thinking about them, so just wishing we see them on another show or movie or whatever.
@@AndresSztaba definitely!! And I like the point you made that they’re like magnet, they stick together, attract one another and cooperate. And same, really hope to see them in the future.
@@sabrina1646 I was referring to them as magnetic in a sense that their story, their character development has that ability to keep me (and so many others) almost constantly theorizing, analysing about how their story was written and all of that lmao. But yeah, now that you mention it I think you're right, is like they attract one another in so many ways. Easily one of the best fictional pairs I've seen (or read, books still exist haha), it obsessed me in a similar way that Tolkien's work did, and that means a whole lot...
@@AndresSztaba ah ahah i re-read your comment again! yeah the way they’re written really captivated me, and I haven’t been this attached to a a piece of fiction + fictional characters & ships in a while, Arcane has resonated with me so much.
@ hahaha well, I'm terrible to explain myself, so there's that, but I think your point makes sense anyway. Even being a former League player, I never thought that a series/pair of characters based on the game would take such a hold on me, I'm not that type of guy, but here I am, almost obsessed lmao.
Another great video. I like looking at the side by side comparison of the start and end of the show with the color red meaning danger, with the green walls representing safety. Throughout Violet's Journey, she matured and changed while still keeping the good qualities that make her who she is. I also see Violet in a new fight similar to Vander's, protect, and maintain peace together with Caitlyn.
I’m curious to see what Powders decision to leave Violet behind was ultimately influenced by. Was it her wish for Violet to find peace and a loving home together with Caitlyn or her wish to start a new life. Just like the last refrain of the song „Wasteland“ indicates … „don‘t let me go“ (not included in the TV Show, only on Soundtrack). What do I mean with „her decision“? Her Shimmer reflexes saved her but she still chose to leave Violet and Piltover/Zhaun. Clearly to break the cycle but was her main motivation Violets happiness or did she find something in herself that wants to know „what could be“? Thanks for your essays!
I think through Ekko she finally accepts her mistakes and comes to terms with who she is, but decides to leave behind Zaun and Vi to "start something new" where she has no bad memories. Leaving behind her home to find something new is the best way for her to move on and separate herself from her old self. It sucks, because Vi finally accepted her, sins and all. But so much trauma from her past haunted her in Zaun I don't think it's the place for her to truly heal. The beautiful thing is she seems to have moved on from her attachment issues since she is going(seemingly alone) to a new place.
To me it is a bit of both, wanting to erase herself from her surroundings, her old life, and all of that. And then is how she started to see herself in Vi's life, as a sort of obstacle, and hew own way of taking care of her older sister, to get out the way, and letting her have a life with Cait, so the way I see it is a sort of combination of things...
That was unexpected video today. Low-key, I need you to make a meme/satire video on Tobias character analysis and what he's been doing sitting awkwardly in the mansion, you could use stick figures to animate your own head canon lmao 🤣
Great analysis as always Ola🥰 3:16 Speaking of next to someone she loves. Ola, I just heard from my sister, perhaps the biggest fan in the series for Xfiles, close second to you and me of course😉 She's saying that they are going for a few more rounds of X-Files🤩🥰 So happy!
Thank you Tex 💜 oh really?! I saw something, but assumed it'd be a fake, wow, I need to check that. To be honest I still haven't seen the very last episode they did in that newest season, I have to catch up with it. I wonder if they'd try some new approach to make the show more times-adjusted.

Vi is my favorite character and reminds me a lot of myself a lot of parallels
Same same same

Love every essay you do. This show is something you have to rewatch many times and everytime you'll find many more details. Thanks for this, always.
you're doing god's work ma'am never stop 🙏

@ Very true. Realizing Vi couldn't give up on Jinx and she was a burden to her, even though Vi loved Jinx more than anyone.

@StopMeOh oh? Oh no dont say that, I will double check it as well to see if its fake😟
The Arcane writers were cruel to Violet. They could have avoided all these tears
Vi is the character that shows that your circunstances doesn't made you, your choices do. At least she found a home and safety.
Exactly ❤❤🩹
Interesting symbolism.
This show removed my soul from my body and left it naked and exsposed and i really dont like that.
1st ❤ 🌹
