for those who dont know, that little girl who plays max aka aryana engineer is hearing impaired in real life meaning she can not fully hear with the cochlear implant off. when she puts it on its like she can hear the whole world around her but she cant hear people talk (sorry thats the best way of explaining it you have to make a research if you want to know more) anyway she is able to read lips and has an interpretor telling her what to do behind the cameras in sign language. during the making of this film she did not understand what was going on and thought it was all a game but then her interpretor told her that they are making a movie and that she had to act. she has a bother who is not deaf and so is her father, but her mother is deaf mute meaning she cant hear anything at all. she is actually a very talented little girl thats why they took her to play this role so she gets a million thumbs up from me.

She can speak now but as a kid she never spoke, she needed lots of speech therapy but right now as a 17 year old she can speak and her cochlear implant improved her hearing and her ability to speak.

Before Esther shown her true color, she and Max were truly the most adorable sibling with Max trying to protect her sister during the dinner scene, and Esther playing with her in the snow, also Max is shown to be really excited to have a sister and instantly took a liking to Esther even though they just met

The clothes, hair and accent is what makes Esther so adorable in this film

While I already knew from the trailer Esther was going to be bad news, this scene with her meeting Max still made me happy. I actually got also got sad right here since I enjoyed these two meeting and I didn’t want to hate her for whatever was going to happen. But of course, knowing about who Esther really is, I’m glad what happened to her in the end of the film.

- He is a freeking preteen of course he will gossip and judge...
- In all honesty I would of done this exact same thing..not because of her clothing or style..but based on how she acts..lets just say that Daniel could see through her

@@bandersnatch9469 Ok a woman adopts a Russian girl and then she starts attacking people at school (Brenda’s dad said that Esther pushed her) so it’s not like she got that out of nowhere. She wanted to make sure her other kids are safe. Just because someone is your child doesn’t mean you automatically stand up for them. The mother didn’t want to ignore red flags.

No it s not. The original story is based in "Todller and Tiaras" a child infant contest...because the producer David Leslie, never feel confortable with 5 yr old little girls being dressed in adult sexual way even using fake tooth s. (the cut a scene where Esther read adult articles about orgasm in the supermarket)
That was the starter point for Esther character coming to life. Barbora case is nothing to do with this movie the production when they are recording in Canada in 2008 the hear in the news about the polemic Barbora case and they ignored the ideia of turning Orphan a movie inspired in real life events because the movie is total diffrent story until that point. Even the Orphan concept for the director Jaume Collet Serra is like a monster lurking around giving us the ideia of horrible danger. Barbora Skarlova and Natalia from Dr Phil they are 2 different cases if they resemble the movie is pure coincidence.......and by the awa for those how don t know Natalia is not Socialpath she is a innocent girl betrayed by his adoption parent s cause they take ideias from Orphan to get rid off Natalia and his rare disease. Today Natalia is normal child with a new family.
