The saddest thing is that he continues to ache, thinking that he lacks a heart, but the very capacity to care for others--that thing he so wastefully threw away--was literally proof of the heart he sought.

It's more tragic that his purpose was to have the Gnosis within him, which he considers his heart, ofc, cause it's not there, he probably just feels empty even if he does have emotions to care for others, but as Wanderer, it looks like he's replaced that emptiness with his Vision, I mean it's literally right where his heart would be too, it's very poetic.

He finally got it though, and it's a strong one at that, a heart forged by fire, a heart born from the ashes.
His story is actually very solid, it got a deep meaning to it. What he's been searching for is within him all along, but in order to reach it he needs to break free from the shackles of the notion that he's a mere puppet, he gotta burn all those strings and be free, he gotta be himself and not who others wanted him to be.

The Tin Soldiers Heart is a real story written by Hans Christian Anderson, a Danish author from the 1800's. I know that's not exactly Fontaine/France but when i first watched this, and before i remembered the folk story, my first thoughts jumped to The Nutcracker. Your telling me that a company that can make material like this is going to get epic anime backdrop 101 to play with? Sounds insane. lets go.

I’ve been saying for a while that Scaramouche’s whole character is based on Bohemian Rhapsody. There’s a couple obvious clues, like his name, and his OST being titled “ominous fandango”. I’ll go through a few other ones quickly. Spoilers, of course.
“Look up to the skies and see” - Teyvat’s false skies
“Any way the wind blows doesn’t really matter to me” - anemo vision
“Just killed a man” - Kazuha’s ancestor
“Life had just begun, but now I’ve gone and thrown it all away” - kid in this trailer
“Thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening” - him becoming the new holder of the electro gnosis, attacking Fatui/Tighnari
“Beezlebub has a devil put aside for me” - Beezlebub is Raiden Ei’s actual/demon name
And of course, “I sometimes wish I’d never been born at all”.
I cannot believe after a cheerful Nilou's teaser, the next two with Nahida and Scara would be so depressing.

i knew it from the start he just looking for his heart even in the artifact its says that but some people says my speculation was wrong i knew it cause he feeling like his reason become his sole existence the puppet exist was to store the gnosis but that only for experi8ment from ei after she hav ethe perfect way created a puppet he throw scara and scara with no feeling felt something was missing like its part of him like gnosis is his heart after being throw but still then he wander inazuma looking for answer looking for reason why he felt like this and he felt it but he does not know where it come from or why cause he still think that he has no heart in truth he does have heart that why when new scara come with vision its because its always been there his ambition everything he just never know it then his vision come in dream as him and see him and said that sorry if any word wrong still speculation off stories not a leak

I just came back from feeding my cats 😩 and I come back to a crying Lorie.
Even after rewatching it i couldn't muster the ability to cry. It just felt so similar to my everyday thoughts; i couldn't do it but i really wanted to.
I feel nothing but sympathy and remorse for him
One of the best character teasers they have released so far! I love the inclusion of the old tale of the tin soldier and the ballerina.
I hope that Scara will discover, just like the tin man did in the Wizard of Oz, that true feelings and love come entirely deep within, and one doesn't need a heart to find them (from what i can remember from the book)...
This teaser had no business being this good and making me tear up!
