Ha I am just seeing this video. I flew with Dayton 3-4 years back too. I think it was the other yellow colored Magni. He did some low flying in the same area, just loved it.
I remember my training for emergency landing, and my trainer was excellent. He told me prior to training that at any time he could cut power and not warn me, and then say nothing until I fully acted on the situation. He would give me feedback immediately after each flight, good, bad, and in the middle. At about 100 hrs I had an engine out just after takeoff, was about 150 feet in the air, and lost my engine. I slipped the plane to lose enough elevation to go under power lines immediately in front of me, and glided into a plowed field. No injury or damage. Sadly this was a plugged fuel filter, rented plane, but I ALWAYS checked fuel and filter after that. Training never ever stops, neither does awareness.
hI would like to say That this is the best video that That I have seen yet and it's giving me a lot of information that I did not know Keep up the good work
Phil Jacobus - Hi Phil, not sure you have the right Mike Smith. I own an older Bensen Gyro and have done almost all of my flight training in Magni M-16s. I have flown an MTO once and also a Calidus once. All are fine modern gyros, my hopes are to one day purchase a Magni.
My mistake. Guess I didn’t pay attention to your name just the Texas as I also follow the other Texan flying the MT O Sport Keep up the videos as I learn so much. Iam and old pilot just learning Gyroplane flying after many hours in Mt Taildragger Piper Pacer. Not sure now if that’s a good thing as I am heavy on rudder inputs. Take care fly safe.
the job of being a good instructor has to be one of the most difficult there is. You cannot ever be a Mr./Ms nice guy, the trainers task is far too important to let anything "just slide". A lousy pilot just can't be cut loose on the the public, the risk of catostrophic consequences is unacceptable.
No on coaxial rotors since they are free rotating and have dissemitry of lift - they would have to be very far apart and controlled on the same plane. Not a good idea. There have been designed which can do jump starts, but but can hover in a static position. Forward motion is what make the rotors turn and create lift. Think of the rotor and simply a rotating wing.

That was a excellent video I really enjoyed it 🇦🇺👍🏻🌴
Ye, good. I fly a magni m16 912. Am upgrading to a rotax 912 turbo. I never pre-rotate until i have lined up.
Fantastic video !!!

So it has been a while since this was posted. Have you purchased a machine yet? Great video, thanks for posting.
Well, I did have single seat Dominator, but it is no more after rotor was damaged. So, slowly saving up for two place Magni. 👍🏼
Nice video. Are you not using the Autogyro MTOSport any longer?

Is there such a thing as 103 for gyros. I do have sport pilot license for PPC. Thanks
Very valuable.
Centerline ? Something I don’t know?
Dabbs worked him hard!
Nice craft. I'll just stick to my Cub and 150.
Can you fly a gyro plane in the rain with a closed canopy?
Yes, you can but should be avoided if possible because rain reportedly eats away at the leading edges of the prop and rotor and paint in general.
Why is he still on the Ground, like some fix wing? 31.00
We were taxing and doing pre-flight run up and check list ?? Guess I do not understand your question (if you are talking about around 31 minutes)
Why is there so much vibration on this video. This machine or all machines.
Is Dayton still doing mountain flying training ?
I would think so, email him at info@lonestarmagnigyro.com.
Hello nice 1sub 😀👍

On gyrocoptor can I use coaxcil rotors and rear pusherpuller for speed increasing?how to do instant lifting without a runway?

@@MikeSmith628 thankyou brother.
definitely you like to train with you instructur ! very intence but veeery good....and nice video cut ..reminds me on my gyro imergency trainings 👌🪂
