  • From April 22nd, 2024. Finally got back out to Centralia Illinois and the Amtrak station there again on a nice but rather chilly late beautiful moonlit Sunday night into an early Monday morning for Amtrak 59 the southbound city of New Orleans despite it was back on its original late night schedule out of Chicago. This was several hours after I saw amtrak 21 in downtown St. Louis and amtrak 316 at kirkwood station plus a few other freight trains too. Didn’t see any Norfolk Southern or BNSF trains go through out here tonight at all but thankfully my #1 favorite 🇨🇦 railroad Canadian National sure made my night out here well worth it by sending one of their awesome long northbound manifest trains thru here on track 1 headed towards Chicago only about 10 or 12 minutes before Amtrak 59 was scheduled to arrive going south on track 2 to New Orleans but I did not take any video of that cause I know you all like my youtube channel for the freight train video. This CN northbound train had 444 axles total so it was a long one. This btw is Canadian National manifest train M335. Two wonderful Canadian National locomotives which I will always ❤️ forever are leading this train coupled back to back. Lead CN unit is a regular Gevo #2968, followed by a CN SD75I #5608. Thank goodness the Vancouver Canucks hockey team won their first home game of the NHL playoffs earlier this evening up in Vancouver British Columbia at Rogers arena over the visiting Nashville Predators in regulation by a final score of 4 to 2 so I got out of my car and wore my Vancouver Canucks blue home jersey for this 🇨🇦 style and fun occasion. My friend Kaleb Schafer was here too for it plus Amtrak 59 right afterwards. Hope you all like this great video by me. Feel free to comment on it too. Enjoy! Jason.

Heck yeah! And I do truly thank you very much for your kind and wonderful comment there. I would recommend this location of Centralia Illinois and other cities and towns along the Canadian National Chicago to New Orleans mainline as great places to go visit to watch their own trains go by. Here at Centralia Illinois however the dull part is most of Canadian Nationals rail traffic is all northbound trains. Canadian National only has about 2 to 3 southbound freight trains that run the mainline through here daily. Only other 2 railroads that operate thru here at Centralia Illinois which don’t run that many trains are Bnsf railway, and Norfolk Southern although they do tend to get boring after a while. Amtrak on the other hand operates and stops here at Centralia Illinois 6 times daily between Chicago Illinois, Carbondale Illinois, and also New Orleans Louisiana. Effingham Illinois Amtrak station the next stop north of here is a much better spot I would say to watch way more Canadian National freight trains cause they don’t operate that many of their southbound trains thru centralia Illinois as most of their southbound trains which originate from Homewood Illinois or sometimes at Champaign Urbana Illinois use the Bluford District 14 miles south of Effingham illinois and continue on it south to Fulton Kentucky were they rejoin the mainline to New Orleans. CSX also crosses the CN line right there at the Effingham Illinois Amtrak station on a double tracked set of diamonds. I usually do not tolerate rude, bad, or at times negative comments from others on here about my own videos especially when they involve freight trains with my favorite kind of Canadian motive power whether it would be Canadian National, or Canadian Pacific locomotives. I may not be from Canada or born and raised up in Canada but I still love Canada a lot. I was born and raised in St. Louis Missouri here in the USA. Canada getting back to that has 6 of the best NHL hockey teams up there that I really like although I should also include the Buffalo Sabres as a 7th Canadian NHL hockey team of theirs too since they are literally right near the USA/Canadian border up in Buffalo New York and I even found out on Wikipedia that they do sing both the USA and Canadian national anthems up there in Buffalo New York at their hometown arena known as the KeyBank Center before all Buffalo Sabres home games regardless if the visiting NHL hockey team is Canadian or American. Still my number one favorite Canadian NHL hockey team is the Montreal Canadiens who have still won the biggest number of Stanley cups in the NHL which still stands at 24. My other favorite NHL hockey teams up there include the Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks, Ottawa Senators, and (even though they are in the same division as the St. Louis blues my hometown NHL hockey team are in) I should also include the Winnipeg Jets. And they certainly do have a way better national anthem up in Canada compared to the USA national anthem. Thanks again, and I hope answered a lot for you.

@@elijahglasser1421 very nice. Thanks for your reply comments here. And I forgot to add this info about the 5 to 6 other NHL Canadian based hockey teams up there in Canada. We know Montreal is the number one best probably forever with the most Stanley cups which is 24. The Toronto maple leafs have won 13 Stanley cups, then the Edmonton oilers have won 5 Stanley cups which is just as great. Now the Calgary Flames sadly have only won 1 Stanley cup just like the St. Louis blues won back in 2019. Now on the other not so good side of this, the Vancouver Canucks, Ottawa senators, Winnipeg Jets, and also even the Buffalo Sabres have not won any Stanley cups yet at all for Canada but hopefully they will win their first Stanley cup soon in the many future years ahead. I was always told to keep in mind by my dad that if it wasn’t for Canada we wouldn’t have the NHL aka “national hockey league” here in the United States or up in Canada which will always be my number one favorite sport. Major League Baseball in my opinion sucks which is why I hardly ever watch it in person or live on TV like I do with NHL hockey.
