I love how at first he seems angry about Raoul but then she apologizes with her sweet voice and he responds with a softer tone. It's why its one of my favorite scenes in the movie and my favorite phantom.
I love how at first he sings all angry like but after she sings so sweetly asking for forgiveness he responds with a softer tone. It's the reason why I love this scene so much.
It's been four years and I'm still waiting for someone to come out of my mirror and sing to me. :( Sighhhh. I love the Phantom!
She looked so adorable when she sang "Angel my soul was weak, forgive me." She really looked sorry there like she was about to cry

i love how raoul doesn't initially believe the phantom is real (even after this scene) even though he could hear him singing
i love the part where he offers his gloved hand & she reaches, hesitates & then takes it. it's so haunting & beautiful

I like to believe that, if she was hypnotized, it was by her own mind. She perceives her teacher as this angel come to take her father's palace in her life, and thus sees this handsome genius-hence why The phantom's whole appearance, hair and all, changes in final scenes when she rips off the mask.
This movie is so beautiful. When he sings, I cry... But when he cries, I die a little inside
they did so good in the movie it know one of my favorites :D

When I first saw this I was waiting for the moment when he took off his clothes and had the spartan armor on and scream ''THIS IS OPERA!!!!!!!"
Gerards voice isnt supposed to be like the opera version, its not what andrew webber and the director wanted for the film!
even so, gerard bulter is amazing as the phantom, his voice and acting are brilliant

The Phantom's voice sounds more powerful from speakers than headphones 0.0 BUT HIS VOICE IS STILL SO BEAUTIFUL.

The critics who rated this movie must have been smoking crack or something or perhaps they are just crazy... But this movie is beautiful, frightening, romantic, musical, and amazingly performed. This is one of my favorite movies and I love the music, too. You can tell that alot of work was put into this movie and it almost makes me angry to think that critics can rate such an amazing film so lowly... Thanks for the video, this is one of my favorite parts of the movie.

The idea in the movie was to show his more manipulative side. He makes Christine think he is her protective and all-knowing mentor while he sees her in... well, another way. This is why he uses a softer tone. They changed Christine's character too, making her a young and vulnerable girl instead of an unintelligent and dramatic woman. If you didn't notice, Emmy uses two different vocal tones representing two personalities, one under the mind control of the Phantom.
This is gorgeous. I love this story. Simply wonderful. I'm still waiting for the day I meet a Phantom !

Im the same. I have watched almost every version i can find of poto, be it broadway or plays. And in the comments of them all, Gerard seems to get little to no respect. Really, what was so bad about his performance?
Also, Gerard's version of the mirror is my hands down favorite, more then Crawford,Panaro, any other of the amazing phantoms over the years.
this is one of the best part of the movie. His voice is not tradition what brings more plesure to hear

Looks like "the angel of music (the phantom)" has completely fell in love with Christine and her voice, I mean just listen to it the phantom is ready to Christine's love...well this is going to be interesting, let me know when it gets better

I thought he did okay. I mean he's not performing a Broadway show this is a movie so I personally love it but everyone is entitled to a opinion but he didn't have singing lessons and he didn't do horribly.

I'm pretty sure thats the underwear for one of her dresses. Remember, they wore corsets and such back then a lot. She was probably just in the process of getting ready since it looks like she stepped out from behind a dressing thing.

mmmmm, I´m in love for Christine´s voice!! To me, she´s better than Sarah Brightman... I must tell that I never like Sarah´s too much...
That's because the phantom is not her master, he is trying to act like something he is not, and so he wants to be sure that Christine likes his company.
Oops, wrong timing Raoul.... Going with Erik at the beginning might be the best choice she has done in the whole story.

I understand the slight hate Gerard gets (sorta...I think his acting is good...just...his voice...but not everyone can be Ramin or JOJ)...but I don't see why people hate on Emmy so much. She might not be the best actress but she can definitely sing..especially opera. Her voice is good! Maybe not as powerful as Sierra but not a lot are :P
