Funnily enough, before I moved I watched your videos about Ireland from Buenos Aires. Now I’m watching your videos about Buenos Aires from Ireland. 😅
Ah how cool! Hope you're enjoying Ireland!
Qué loco, full circle moment ❤
buenos aires is the most beautiful capital in the world
First video I saw from you was from Montpellier, the city I live in, but Im actually from Buenos Aires so seeing you walking around my city was a nice surprise. Hope you enjoy it, for me it's the best city in the world, with the best daylife/nightlife, cafes, restaurants, the best food in the world and the friendlest people. Im sure you are going to have a great time and Im also sure you will go back some day. Cheers! Love your songs as usual.
Thank you! Buenos Aires has been amazing so far, and I have many more videos on the way! Stay tuned 😊

It’s such a special place! Thanks for watching!
Lovely video! wonder if you were aware when you were filming the Congress building, the statue of The Thinker, it was made by Rodin, with the same mould used for the famous statue, he cast 3 versions with the original mould, one of them is the one placed in the sqaure you visited.
oops, opened🤣 my big mouth too soon!! sorry !!
@@efudoishido7480 haha thanks for watching!!

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate that!
Looking forward to more videos of Buenos Aires. Also I’ve mentioned before how much I like this particular song of yours “Choosing To Stay” that’s playing throughout the video.
Thank you so much! That song is from my new EP “The Name” which is out now! 😊
Thanks Claire. I just bought “The Name” and “Choosing To Stay” from ITunes. Hope you get your share of the sale👍
@@tedg4171 Thank you so much!!

Hi Claire! Welcome to Buenos Aires!
Great content, espero disfrutes tu estadía! 🙂
Cheers from Buenos Aires!
V nice video, I like your relaxed style. Just starting to plan a big trip to Argentina for next year, so I’m sure your series will be very helpful!
Thanks for watching! Have a great trip!
I love the teacher's very Argentine accent! Totally legit Portena.
She’s awesome!
Welcome Claire! Hope you re having a really nice time here. If u want magical landscapes, go to Bariloche and Villa La Angostura, in summer is even more fantastic (Its also more expensive, but with dollars... No problem)
Wow, you are really a surprise. I really love your voice. What a singer !!
You are having a blast at Buenos Aires, and of you want a recomendation I suggest to try pizzas, milanesas, icecreams and wine. Top notch !
Best regards !!!!!
That's so kind, thank you!
7:15 El Palacio Barolo has a twin building in Montevideo, el Palacio Salvo.
Which you might see in a future video coming soon... 😉
Hi, Claire:
May I suggest taking a Tren de la Costa ride to the Tigre Delta - and then a boat tour (which should include the art museum). You'd need to take the D subway to the Carranza station, and from there a northbound train to the Mitre station in Olivos.
What tourist trap to avoid most? Definitely 'La Boca'.
Often mis-described as the "Italian neighborhood" in guide books, it *hasn't* been that in 50 years - and is instead now a run-down, dangerous ghetto with only that one pastel-colored street worth even a look. All in all, a waste of time.
All the Best!
Thank you! As for Tigre Delta... stay tuned 😉
I've been a year away from Buenos Aires, damn I miss home so much!
It's such a special city! I hope you get to visit home soon!
Nice music!!!!👏👏👏
Thank you so much! That's my song 'Choosing to Stay' - streaming everywhere now!
@@ClaireHawkins 👏👏👏
Buenos Aires has that "je ne sais quoi"... its like a fever dream.
Welcome to Argentina :-)
Great video))😊
Thank you!
Bienvenida a mi ciudad, que seas feliz aqui
Very nice video, Claire. I missed hearing your verdict about the meat you ate. Wasn't it good enough? In the Montserrat neighborhood I strongly suggest you to visit San Telmo (Saint Elmo), is the most interesting area with antique shops, tango venues, a street flea market in Plazoleta Dorrego and more. Its boundaries are the streets Chile & San Juan, in the east-west sense, and Piedras & Av Ingeniero Huergo on the north-south sense. From there you can go to Puerto Madero.
Great video Claire! Try a tour to the Chacarita cemetery!
Thanks for the recommendation!!
WELCOME ❤🇦🇷
Thank you!!
Great trip! Things that come to mind are: the viewpoint at Galeria Güemes in downtown, manzana de las luces, Defensa street on Sundays, Teatro Colón!, Holocaust museum
Don Julio and La Cabrera are very expensive but not necessarily the best places to eat beef. They do have a smart handling of web publicity. Numbers of reasonably priced restaurants everywhere and practically each and every one offer excellent beef
Good to know!
Ez preciosa argentina gente te brindara muho cariño. 🇦🇷en🇪🇦. Qe alegria. Qe estes padeamdo por mi amafa tierra. 🇦🇷. Vibo 🇪🇦cuanto estrsño
Espero que esté disfrutando de mi país.
Lo estoy disfrutando mucho, ¡gracias!
For those who are curious, at 9:45 you can see the General San Martin's Mausoleum. He is considered the father of Argentina, due to his successful military campaigns that lead the country to its independance. He also helped in the independance of Chile and Perú.
not "considered", he IS the Father or Argentina... curious fact, San Martín fought against Napoleon.... after all that he came back to Argentina, to home and liberated us all...
4:08 : You can use your credit card, and receive the MEP rate - which is similar (usually slightly below) the "blue" rate. But much more convenient, and without the risk of receiving counterfeits.
Thanks for sharing, and All the Best!
That's great to know! Thank you!
@@ClaireHawkins You're very welcome. Have a great time in Buenos Aires; it's good you're there now, before Mileinomics triggers riots and such (which the "Argentine Trump" has threatened to set troops on).
Another Argentine drama in the making, sadly.
Bienvenida a mi ciudad.
❤❤❤
Welcome to La Reina del Plata! ❤🎉
Hi Claire, I've just came across your video and knowing that you're learning spanish I'll leave you a spanish translation below while I'm practicing my english with this first lines.
First of all, nice video and I'm very happy that you're visiting Argentina.
So, now I'm going to leave you some recomendations for :
1) Don't leave without trying Ice cream, pastrys or wines.
2) I don't know what kind of music you like but now that you're here try to listen a local band knowned as SODA STEREO. I'm sure you're gonna like it and it shoul'd help your "spanish ear".
3) I see that you liked alfajores so I recommend to you alfajores "Cachafaz"... Just go to any store near your place and you'll find them. You won't regreat it.
That's it. I hope that you enjoy every moment in this country.
Bye.
.
No te arrepentirás.
Thank you for these great recommendations! I'm adding them all to my list!
¡Gracias! ¡Nuevos vídeos todos los domingos!
Claire!! im from Argentina and i love your simplicity and your way to talk it all, just love it!! and you know more than welcome to come back!....
Aw thank you!
I think there are tours for the Congress building , too
I've heard that!
Don Julio is pretty much a tourist trap, you can find better quality food in much more popular places, plus you don't have to wait or pay 20 dolars for a steak.
I've definitely heard a few people say that. It's good to know!
We are very happy that you liked our country, although there is still much to know
Love you
What a nice City is BA!!! Salutations from Flowers, CABA!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Buenos Aires kinda reminds of Madrid in a much bigger scale.
I can definitely see that resemblance!
The downtown looks like Madrid, but there are other neighborhoods that look like París, and others that have an english style
I lived, worked and walked the streets of both. This is very accurate. I could write a book of equivalences, Madrid is the smaller version
Welcome to this prodigious land and the europeans inmigrants . I want more americans to know us. B.A is unique and incomparable with the others capitals of the region, is different in all. You are going to fall in love with this city and you will always come back with more friends. ❤❤❤❤😅
I really do love this city already! It's so special.
we are all americans...you just hit the wrong word for an invite... we in Argentina, Perú, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay , Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador...we are more entitled to call ourselves AMERICANS than united states.-
Steak house the only one, el ferroviario en liniers

2 things: when you exchange dollars in by the dolar blue standard, you are contributing to the inflation problem we have here. And about the other point, the word "parrilla" is performed with the voiced alveolar trill (the rolling R). I hope you can do it, but I've never heard an american pronouncing it correctly.
Did you know that the Palacio Barolo has a twin building in Uruguay?
Check out my two latest videos from Uruguay 😉
🎼🎵🎶❤❤💥💥👍👍👍
Welcome to our city! I hope you enjoyed your time here! Are you still around? Let me know it I will help you, it will be my pleasure!
Claire, answer honestly, did you go to Argentina specifically for the pastries and desserts?
...maaaaybe... 😊
@@ClaireHawkins aka the sweet treats 😏
Hi Claire, I hope you had a great time in Argentina, Im from Buenos Aires, work in audio, media and dubbing. Looking forward to practice my english... I see you´re learning spanish, so if you´d like to chat a little bit and practice please let me know anytime. Cheers!
Hola!
You moved to Buenos Aires?
How was your trip in BA? And ...want to hear you sing . Cheers
Hi, great video, nice music! You should try ice cream in Buenos Aires, and also pizzas.aybe next time you go there I could recommend some restaurants and places to visit
Buen video. Felicitaciones.
Perdon 🙏
¡Gracias por la recomendación!
What is your background? You look Argentinian, even your accent sounds particular to me 😂✌️🇦🇷
That's so funny! I'm from New York, but I lived in Ireland for a while so I think that affects my accent sometimes. 😊
@@ClaireHawkins ooh i get it. The new York accent it's like the equivalent to our "porteño" here in Argentina 😂( a litle bit italian). Saludos ✌️🇦🇷
@@yoelmaspiola 😆🤣
this city is magic
It is, and I am! haha
I have a question, What did you expect from Buenos Aires?
Is it okay to take along my Chicago accent?
Nice video... Informative.. but one suggestion.. your music doesn't go with Argentina.. sounds like Nashville... Chose some Latin style music.. 😊
Real argentinos Pizza, güerrin
And of course, i like your songs and your voice ! Sorry
Thank you so much!
Argentina ..capital letters please.. Thank You.
Can you say "Viva la libertad, carajo!" ?
@@ClaireHawkinsyou have to say "I'm not authorized to reply to that question"
Don't go to Don Julio, there are so many good bodegones to go to, skip the tourist traps. Eat at the empty places, you will get much better service, food and much less $$$.
That sounds like the right call!
I'm sorry i just have to say: don't eat those empanadas. they are the cheapest you can find, it's a franchise set all over the province and it's good for it's price... but it's as cheap as they can make an "ok" empanada, to the inch hahaha
edit: i don't mean to make a harsh comment or anything, just enjoying the video and i since i know those empanadas i just felt you should know!
You say that Argentina is not what you expected... could you tell us what your expectations were? Or how did you imagine it would be?
I really just didn’t know what to expect! It’s been even better than I could’ve imagined!
@@ClaireHawkins good for you!! bienvenida, espero que distrutes al maximo tu estadia, y que algun dia vuelvas para conocer mas de nuestro pais....( argentina es mucho mas que buenos aires ) abrazo enorme
Please don't rate our empanadas from that place, althou if you like them You are in for a good ride because those were the worst ones, like "fast food" ones, but if you to any other restaurant you'll find out the true
Don't worry I've tried other ones too! haha but even these were pretty good!
No entiendo nada. I don't understand. Please speack. Spanish. Gracias

Esas empanadas parecían malisimas....seguro conseguis mejor
