Hi byhaugh1, The vise i use is a rotary but to be honest with you I don't use it to it's full ability just as it was meant to be. I do though rotate the vise so that I can see how the other side of the fly is looking while I'm tying, I'll also adjust the head so that I can make it easier for me to tye small or large flies depending on the style of hook... All the very best Davie
hello iv been watching your vids for a long time thank you so much for your time you have taught me alot just one question what kind of wax do you use ?
Davie, Still love watching your videos. I am sure you have been asked a thousand times but I have searched and have been unable to find the type of vise you use. Would you mind sharing? Thanks Wally
HiSlick Roode, This is a pattern I've tied many times for a friend that guides on Lough Corrib and he does catch many fish on it. To be honest I would say that the bucktail isn't good enough to give a good wing like you would look for in a Wullff, a nicely dyed calf tail to suit would be better... All the very best Davie...
***** Thanks for the reply. I'm in mayfly kind of mood on these dark winter nights. If you could tie up a few more dry mayflies it might shorten the months till Corrib :)
Hi Mistermooseers, I like the all-purpose 4 inch scissor very much like the Tiemco one I'm using at the moment but their fine tips can be broken if dropped on the floor as I have did this...The Razor Scissor is also a good style much like the one I have attached a link to....loonoutdoors.com/product/razor-scissors-4in/ I hope this is of some help to you... All the very best Davie...

Who is manufacturer of the hackles which you use in this fly?
Hi Davie. Is the Buctail ''full'' enough to be used for wings for wullffs as well do you reckon?
