My favorite Yamcha moment in DBZ was when he tried to train in 300 times gravity. Yeah he didn’t last long in it, but the fact that he just walked in without building up to that much gravity and lasting as long as he did was impressive! And he did it without being an OP Saiyan, or Namekian, or god-like being. He was just a regular human. Really shows how much potential he had as a fighter.
He was far from "just a regular human". 99,9 % of the humans in DB are as weak as people in the real world, whereas Yamcha already had superhuman strength and abilities in his very first appearance in the desert and only continued to grow in power.
The biggest problem with Yamcha is, that he never really fits anywhere. His relationship with Bulma was not very healthy and after the fights with the Saiyans and Androids, he didn't made anything worthy mentioned. He tried Baseball, but he was way to strong so that the opponent teams either didn't wanted to play against his team or in a probably fight, he would dominate. He could've fought in the tournament again, but he would've had the same problem. It would be an easy and for him boring first place. But hey, if we would count the DB Super Heroes Series, he finally has a girlfriend^^
He didnt lack training, He died by a kamikaze no escape just as piccolo stated. His death helped the zfighters see just how far the saibamen and vegeta will go and they had to cancle the mini solo battles and fight serious. Yamcha had the same power as them all he defeated the saibamen just got caught of gaurd just like goku did with frieza and his soldier and many more. Also yamcha knew his own limits and when to stop we see things threw his lenses he represents us in reality same as chichi represents moms in reality⚡️
A lot of people seem to forget that while his arrogance got the best of him, he died saving his friend. Even Krilin comments on this, that he may have sensed something wrong and that's why he took his place. It was for all intents and purposes an heroic death. Sadly it was also a logical conclusion of Yamcha's role as a measuring stick. Every new antagonist had to beat Yamcha so you would know things were serious. But no matter how strong you are, when the only thing you do is lose, well, you become a loser.
yamcha is the most genuine guy he him and bulma broke up on good terms and is like family and him and vegeta are lowkey like brothers who hate eachother and they lived with eachother for awhile yamcha also has a great relationship with future trunks and uncle to bulla and is a great support character always there for his friends and even laughs at jokes and know its all love

My Favorite Yamcha moments are all throughout DB. In DBZ my fav Yamcha moment is after he trained with Tienshinhan, Chaotzu & Piccolo under King Kai. He defeated Recoome as if he were a God. The way he beat ‘em was so damn cool. As if he were the main character for the moment. Damn!!! His power level was 72,000 vs Recoome 50,000. 1,200(Saiyan Saga) x 60 = 72,000.
I personally believed that he could have gone there if he took his time with it. Taking on 1 level at a time. slowly but surely building up his resistance 💪.
Yamcha was, actually, my first favorite character in DBZ. It's a shame how Toriyama just undermined and sabotaged the development of Yamcha's character in the series and beyond. He could have been the strongest human, not Klylin. Yamcha also could have equaled the strength of base-form Goku.
god bless DBZ filler for scaling up Yamcha to SSJ2 Gohan by letting him stomp Olibu (a guy who could compete with weighted clothes Pikkon who 1-shotted Super Perfect Cell). Yeah I know it's not canon, but it's still cool

Yamcha was the first example of Toriyama's "his one shtick is over, time to replace him" that ends up being his M.O.. Let's be honest. Kuririn was the new Yamcha. Who virtually surpassed him ONLY because Kuririn got started 3 years early. By the time Yamcha got to studying under him it was much too late for him to catch up (and he's excluded from the fights outside the tournament). With Kuririn being the "best friend" and Tenshinhan being the "martial arts move king" and the move from cool moves to "just get stronger" and Vegeta being "Bulma's lover", his entire purpose was essentially written out. Literally nothing left. Frankly, I'm surprised it took so long for Toriyama to write him out, he's been forgetting him after the Pilaf arc. The most notable thing, imo, is that Yamcha was the guy that _knew_ everything martial arts. He was the mouthpiece to the exposition. It showed he had an interest in it and you could do a lot with that. It made little sense, when I thought about it, that Yamcha wouldn't take the chance to become Roshi's pupil. Sadly, much like Lunch, I doubt Toriyama thought of it. Humans could have been the anchor for power scaling.
Even in China people typically forget or don’t care for the character Yamcha is based on from journey to the west (Sha Wujing) He was introduced late, always beat up, is ignored by Wukong, Bajie, and the Monk. He never did much of mention other than carrying their luggage. I guess he was the character most faithfully portrayed (minus the lack of giant prayer beads, balding head and bushy beard)

Way back in the day...like, when the Cell Saga was first airing in the US....I started liking Yamcha just to be a contrarian. He seemed to exist just to be crapped on, so I latched on to him just to be different. And, I suppose he was kind of cool, in the few moment he had enough screen-time to mean anything...
Yamcha got a nice suit during dragon ball super. You gotta admit that suit looks cool. Toriyama focuses allot on the Saiyans still. He should give other characters a chance to shine.
Toriyama is a god at the art of disregarding (and even disrespecting) old characters in place of newer ones. That one isekai spin-off made Yamcha get the respect I think he deserved though.
How can you keep calling Yamcha a regular human/dude/guy? 😂 99,9 % of humans in DB are shown to be about as weak as real world people, whereas Yamcha was already in the top 0,1% in his very first appearance and only kept improving until he quit training after the Cell Games. Once he surpassed Roshi, he became the third strongest pureblooded human in the world after Tien and Krillin (or even 2nd if you accept the retcon that Tien has alien ancestry) until Uub came along at the very end and moved all of them down in the ranking. So our man Yamcha was never a regular guy, despite being treated like dirt by his creator. 😉
Dragon ball z fighter is a great game. Love to play with Yamcha, Krillim and Tien. Just to have tje human dream team together. Or yamcha and some villains to aome fun dialogues.
Yamcha was a very clever subversion of the trope that Vegeta and Piccolo embodied. He was never gonna be a titan like the rest of them but he was a likeable character in his own right but they eventually dropped those qualities which is a shame. The Baba Saga is kinda what cemented him as this ride or die friend even if he was a bit of a doofus.
He actually trained with king Kai and got strong enough to beat jaice favorite yamcha moment he was losing at first so basically he’s a little stronger than the ginyu force members
I don't think he fell off. He was honestly never really "on." Even in his fight against Goku in the beginning he was winning because Goku was hungry. Once Goku was fed it was a different match.
There are so many amazing characters from Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Z summon made one time appearances and never came back. Few characters. We are in love never came back and some of them were just wasted. I hope someone will make a video on which character should come back.
It's honestly a shame Yamcha didn't get his moment to shine. Heck, Mr. Satan, who I strongly believe is the most annoying and worst DBZ character, helped defeat Buu. It's infuriating how Toriyama tossed Yamcha aside.
The android saga was like a character assassination of him. He went from being this ruff, fierce warrior from the wilderness to a whiney, dudebro, weakling who was basically used to make Vegeta look better. I remember thinking Yamacha was a really cool character during the Saiyan saga. He had a cool moveset. Then he just progressively got worse and I'll admit thoughts of "nah this mf lame and corny as hell" during the whole android/cell arc.
He is essentially the guy who peaked in high school and stop trying. Going to pieces when a superior man stole his girl. God knows why he didn’t gather the dragon balls and ask to be turned into a Sayian
Yamcha is a Superhuman. He is One Of The Strongest Earthling Z fighters. Like Tienshinhan & Krillin he becomes massively Stronger than Super Saiyan Goku & Final Form Frieza On Planet Namek. I know this bcuz all the Z fighters become Overwhelmingly Stronger than SSJ Goku on Namek. In the Cell Arc. Except for Master Roshi & Chaotzu. They get even Stronger in the 10 day prep for The Cell Games Tournament. Yamcha is inner potential is hinted @ all throughout DB & DBZ. In Z, He and the other Z fighters all become massively stronger than Goku did in a shorter amount of time. Yamcha is the unluckiest Z fighter outta them all. Forever fighting the Strongest or most deadliest Superhuman fighters at said times. He eventually surpassed Krillin in The Buu Arc. Even so, the unfortunate reality is Akira Toriyama just forgets about his growth and contributions as a fighter. This is why it is such an insult for Toriyama to choose Master Roshi over Yamcha. Both for Resurrection F & The Tournament of Power. Roshi is popular, yet he is DB level @ best. He is simply too weak. Every single Z fighter in The Cell Games, reach a benchmark of power level that was a requirement just to participate. Roshi & Chaotzu we’re far too weak. His character is treated so disrespectfully. Despite so many fans who show him love and respect, the creators for the manga and anime continue to show him disrespect. He deserves better. I hope they do better by him.
It would have been awesome, "in my opinion" if Yamcha could've been in the tournament of power and in it let's say aiding Goku and Vegeta in taking down the wolf brother trio with Goku and Vegeta taking out two first then Yamcha jumping in with his massively refined wolf fang fist thing "joke intended" and knock out the third brother thus sealing the fate of universe 9.🥳😂 Then after that perhaps after that have him regress backwards to the painfully shy state he had at the start of the original series for some reason and get taken out by Rhibrianna or one of the other females from that group before they transformed into Fatty's and Ugo's 😂 or maybe not that particular scenario.
The fact that bro think he would be invited to the Multiverse Tournament of Power. Bro is such a sore delusional loser there, the way he imagines things in Super
Had to say. On one hand... he was the weakest human in a lot of regards. Tien - Three eyed human who beat Goku and then got lost. Krillian - Goku best friend card Bulma - Still had a use plot wise and fandom wise... even still moving strong in modern Super era. So on one hand he... was the easiest to write out of the story and forget about him since he has the weakest narrative presence. On the other hand... If you aren't born a monkey you have no importance in a fight. Seriously they made Tien a joke after the Cell arc and while he still lost... at least he nearly gave his life doing a good amount of stall/damage to imperfect cell to the point we even had DBZ abridged make that lovely joke and hatred with cell saying "Please tell me its Tien Shinhan" making it clear he did hold a grudge against him... even had a What if story with an offical dragon ball game where by absorbing Krillian instead you had Tien get a win killing off the big baddy. Humans at this point... Well until you had Dragon Ball Super Super Hero... well humans were quite frankly worthless and just minor background fodder or set pieces. That is only because the RR army managed to make some deadly androids... so yah... even with the humans from earth able to ONE SHOT the Genu Force in the afterlife in less training than Goku had... This is Goku who struggled against his eternal rival... the human gang leveled up faster and beat them when the Namik team struggled against them. Humanity could be a lot stronger, but they got the short end of the stick.
Totally disagree. Yamcha get his justice in the Buu arc as defeats both Recoome and Olibu (King Kai's greatest fighter next to Goku) in the Other World. In the Moro arc, he does better than Tien and had a cool manga spinoff.
Dragonball until Piccolo was never solely focused on Fights. It was a Adventure and Comedy Manga. Charakters like Oolong, Pool, Bulma had a big role in it, cause they didnt had to be fighters to contribute. And so Yamchus Position as Maincharakter wasnt treatened eighter. But when Time did go on, that changed. In my Opinion to the worse. Nobody talks about anything but the fights in the Freeza sage. About Vegeta flexing, the Ginyus, and obviously Freeza. Theres no real Fanbase for Dende, or the Planet itselfe. In an envioument of harsh competition, where natural Talent beats everything, Yamcha who lacks Talent cant find a nieche. Hommjust leaving after the start of the Cyborg saga was such a disgracefull end. Not because he gave up on Fighting, its because he had nothing else to go to. He wasnt helping the Group anymore, and he didnt had a Happy end whit a new Pashion, he was just out.
It just kind of sucks that the humans in super are basically just kind of there by virtue of being within the gravitational pull of the sayins and add basically nothing to the story nor fights. Sayins being absolute juggernauts is a given due to their bullshit overpowered genetics but throwing away characters that aren't deliberately universe killing threats shows just how little effort actually went into super. It's the macaroni and fuck it of DragonBall.
Yamcha is not that terrible , I mean sure a lot of fans sees him as a joke mostly because they are idiots but Yamcha is one of the strongest Martial Arts in the universe and he is super rich from baseball Career. let's be real if Yamcha was real then he will put all the athletes to shame. he doesn't need a spoiled brat like Bluma , he can date and marry any woman in the world and surely any woman would accept him because he is strong , he is rich , and he is handsome but the author gave him the fear of women he had in the early Pilaf Saga , he made Yamcha doubt himself in battles and that's why he terrified to fight any new foes , he threw away Yamcha's character development out of the table and now we have a 40 years old Yamcha who is terrible in both fighting and as a character and treated constantly as a joke rather than respected retired Martial Artist who should be a parent right about now , these fools who keep making fun of Yamcha would dream to be him for just one day , the guy can do much more if he can't save the universe.
Yamcha's biggest flaw is he has no focus. He got Bulma as a GF, but kept womanizing. His fighting skills could've made him stand out and become a rich man in the baseball world, but nope. Also: Kobayashi in Gintama.
Yamcha is lazy as hack he doesn't train after his motivation got broken completely then he got 1 shoted, then last his girl to vegeta ultimate defeat dammm.. the WFF could of gotten OP as a technique
He knew his limits compared to strong durabilty alien sayians who get zekais each defeat or stress. He never let pride run his whole life like vegta bro was just a cuaual guy wanting to chill but supported his friends when needed
Its weird when you hear, "yamcha was badass in dragon ball!" When you remember, he was never that great then either. He does get 1 good moment in DBS tho!!
I mean, Toriyama just let him go. He could easily used him beyond, if he was interested to. It's just they totally changed the vibe between original DB and DBZ. Both are great, but really different. The feelings you got from one to another are good, but you can sense the different path for both stories. And the excuse of Yamcha being human... I mean... Kuririn? Or the gap in power when Piccolo fused with Nail, now able to defeat second form Freezer? I don't talk about power level bullshit, but logic behind power and writing. My point is, Yamcha is a great character for DB, but it's clear DBZ was a sequel totally out of the idea to continue Goku's adventures with Yamcha or Bulma or else. In DBZ, the only purpose is became stronger, and you see the bullshit post SSJ2, when it's clear Toriyama mad Buu as a joke overpowered character bubble gum. in DB, you have more thoughts behind the envy to take care of characters, whatever importance they have. In DBZ, it's all about fan-service and pure shonen battle. We also clearly see Toriyama had his plan to make Gohan the finality of his "second part" manga, already finished before Z saga as a whole. Z part was totally out of anything we saw narratively speaking from DB. It remains a great continuation, maybe a great one ever made for a shonen, but still, it's day and night as a whole. The only part where the characters were still accurate in term of writing was the pre-Namek part. After that, everything was about "i'm stronger because plots needs it", and the plot didn't needed Yamcha anymore, because Toriyama cornered himself with his overdose of power level. Like i said, he could have thoughts about it for Yamcha, but when you see Piccolo, you see he was forced to use him and level up him way too much to justify his presence.
Yamcha was useless in Dragon ball Z in the saiyan saga he beat a little green man and got blown up by one and in the android saga he got a hole in his stomach, in the cell saga his fought a bunch of cell jrs and in the buu saga he stopped fighting .
He died by a kamikaze no escape just as piccolo stated. He death helped the zfighters see just how far the saibamen and vegeta will go and they had to cancle to battles and fight serious. Yamcha had the same power as them all he defeated the saibamen just got caught of gaurd just like goku did with frieza and his soldier and many more.
Yamcha fell off becuase well, Toriyama, honestly a dude who wanted the Dragon Balls to wish away his fear of girls cheated on Bulma, how?, no fucking reason, Toriyama wanted Vegeta to be an important dude and realized his fuck up from DB so he decided to just fuck off Yamcha and give Vegeta the spotlight instade of realizing how this girl Bulma was in DB, I realize that the Humans no matter what will fall off but not so fucking fast Tori, man, Yamcha was an Idol for me and he always will, I am not mad, just salty.

Yamcha is future trunks biological daddy. How else do you explain the hairline, the sword, and the good attitude?
Lmao not even close my guy, bad joke
Damn, I think you might be onto something there, lmao.
He got Yamcha'd
Yamcha was a very clever subversion of the trope that Vegeta and Piccolo embodied. He was never gonna be a titan like the rest of them but he was a likeable character in his own right but they eventually dropped those qualities which is a shame. The Baba Saga is kinda what cemented him as this ride or die friend even if he was a bit of a doofus.
At least He doing well in baseball ⚾
Yamcha is the only one that can't count his entire body count on one hand. He was busy blowing off Bulma for tail
Yamcha, the Tristan Taylor of Dragonball
There are so many amazing characters from Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Z summon made one time appearances and never came back. Few characters. We are in love never came back and some of them were just wasted. I hope someone will make a video on which character should come back.
I miss the old days
It's honestly a shame Yamcha didn't get his moment to shine. Heck, Mr. Satan, who I strongly believe is the most annoying and worst DBZ character, helped defeat Buu. It's infuriating how Toriyama tossed Yamcha aside.
Well, at least Yamcha was instrumental to keeping Great Ape Goku from going on a rampage in early Dragon Ball.
As the series went on, Yamcha became weaker and weaker and ultimately became insignificant.
Was it even said how he got the scar on his face?
What happened To Yamcha? The same thing that happened to Oolong, Puar, Launch, Tien, Chiatzu, Yajirobe, etc..
He is essentially the guy who peaked in high school and stop trying. Going to pieces when a superior man stole his girl. God knows why he didn’t gather the dragon balls and ask to be turned into a Sayian
I respect krillin and videl more than yamcha
He got code launched.
It would have been awesome, "in my opinion" if Yamcha could've been in the tournament of power and in it let's say aiding Goku and Vegeta in taking down the wolf brother trio with Goku and Vegeta taking out two first then Yamcha jumping in with his massively refined wolf fang fist thing "joke intended" and knock out the third brother thus sealing the fate of universe 9.🥳😂
Then after that perhaps after that have him regress backwards to the painfully shy state he had at the start of the original series for some reason and get taken out by Rhibrianna or one of the other females from that group before they transformed into Fatty's and Ugo's 😂 or maybe not that particular scenario.
Krillian - Goku best friend card
Bulma - Still had a use plot wise and fandom wise... even still moving strong in modern Super era.
Yamcha was honestly never a really useful character. Just a cool dude that never got too far
"never got too far" he is literally the 2nd or 3rd strongest human in existence
@@mojebi3804 and I still can't tell you 5 significant things he's done in the series
He wasn't the same after the androids killed him
I was glad when vegeta took bulma from Yamcha
good vid
thanks!
Totally disagree. Yamcha get his justice in the Buu arc as defeats both Recoome and Olibu (King Kai's greatest fighter next to Goku) in the Other World. In the Moro arc, he does better than Tien and had a cool manga spinoff.
Non canon filler is not justice. The Moro example is however.

What happened to yamchas face
0:44 doesn't look like a fist to me
Yamcha destroyed Riccum remember in King Kai s land
Maker dragon ball never really cared about him
What are the power level of a human
Master Roshi*
Krillen💀
Yamcha's biggest flaw is he has no focus. He got Bulma as a GF, but kept womanizing. His fighting skills could've made him stand out and become a rich man in the baseball world, but nope.
Also: Kobayashi in Gintama.
He did dodged a bullet with Bulma though. She became insanely insufferable.
He was never a womanizer
yamcha happend to yamcha
true true
🥲
Nothing "happened" to him...
Dragon ball z happend
he got yamcha'd 😂😂😂
All of dbz story from the 80s 90 and now are not top tier
Yamaha aka worse Krillin
Vegeta aka the worst Goku.
Yamcha is useless and pathetic character. Currently re watching Dragon Ball.
L
Yamcha fell off becuase well, Toriyama, honestly a dude who wanted the Dragon Balls to wish away his fear of girls cheated on Bulma, how?, no fucking reason, Toriyama wanted Vegeta to be an important dude and realized his fuck up from DB so he decided to just fuck off Yamcha and give Vegeta the spotlight instade of realizing how this girl Bulma was in DB, I realize that the Humans no matter what will fall off but not so fucking fast Tori, man, Yamcha was an Idol for me and he always will, I am not mad, just salty.
Yamcha is just too weak for new db power standards
