I’ve travelled by Saudi airlines regularly and I have to tell you , one of their greatest plus points is their on time departure performance. I’ve travelled for years in Saudia and I don’t remeber a single flight that had been delayed , except once due to severe weather issue. In flight meals are pretty good too. And from Saudi Arabia , Saudi airline normally allows 46 kilos luggage. Maybe sometimes when the airfares are dirt cheap , they may restrict luggage to 23 kilos in economy class. One thing is true- flights to kochi are normally older aircrafts, but then again Europeans and North Americans probably pay higher fares per km. Most of the passengers to Kerala travel by economy class and they normally have low fares too which is beneficial for low paid migrant workers. Overall their plus points are their on time performance and in flight meals and also having a dedicated prayer area at the rear.
Usually what happens with Gulf aviation services to India is that ,they operates old and narrow body flights except in Emirates and QA.And they call it as Budget airlines but the amount which we are paying is almost similar to those with other flights .

I have never traveled with Saudia. Heard many bad experiences from colleagues and it is about the airport and dealing with the officials there rather than with the airline. We normally fly with Emirates between Germany and Bangalore/Kochi. I flew with Etihad once and the airport transit was not smooth with the Etihad app and airport systems showing different gates. We use Lufthansa only if they have any specials. Air India is at the bottom of the list, but just due to qualify of aircrafts but also due to long layovers in New Delhi for connections to the South.
I will be traveling on saudi airlines soon and they allowing my ticket 23kg for check luggage and 7kg for carry on. Do they weight your personal purse or backpack for laptop with your 20 inch carry on bag that rolls from the 7 kg allowed in cabin? Thank you for your help!
Thanks for the detailed video. for the past 15 years , almost Every year i fly from different airports of Europe to India. The first Part of the travel is always good. They fly new machines, less passengers, polite behaviors, entertainment facilities, good service. As soon as you fly from middle east to India, you get older aircraft, aircrafts are mostly full to the last seat, random rude behavoiurs, broken seat parts at times, not clean, older or no entertainment facilities. sometimes i even feel that the passengers to India actually pay a part of the costs of the better flight experience of european flights to middle east (with little passengers the comfort level they offer to european passengers is far better than that of the flights to india, sometimes it is the attittude: indians passengers can fly on any condition...very subjective and personal opinion) this time i am trying first time Saudi Airlines. i am curious...
But Saudi airlines don't allow us to take alcohol. They will take it in Saudi during the transit. Which is really a bad thing for international travelers.

As a frequent flyer between Paris and Cochin, I still don't understand why anyone should prefer a journey from Europe via the Middle East when Air India has flights that cost less than 350 euros (around Rs 28000 ) via Delhi with a 61 Kg luggage allowance. I have never felt any issue with their service, and helps you avoid a lot of transit difficulties in Middle Eastern airports (transit visa requirements, flight delays, and random arrogant behavior). .....Its really bizarre to see how our people travel via Middle East when Air India provides a better, faster service at a much more reasonable price.....Perhaps paying more for a tougher flight via 'gelf' is more glamorous than flying comfortably via Delhi with an Indian airline ( least for keralaites 😉😬......)
