Park Rangers also write tickets on the Golden Gate Bridge for speeders too.

If you knew the ARBT in some areas you would know these resources could be used for something better.

So how does that work? You don't need a driver's license nor ID to ride a bicycle.

I have never been contacted by one of these officers so I do not know what would happen in the event that you did not have an ID on you.

You provide your address full legal name and date of birth. They run your information and give you a cite. If you give false information then you get another ticket

@Thomas Then they take you into custody. You are required to identify yourself when you break the law and are contacted by an officer.

What about innocent until proven guilty? How do you know that you have broken the law? Do all bikes require cycle computers? How do you know that they radar gun has been callibrated? Not sure that these tickets would hold up in court at all.

I didn't even know this type of thing existed. Park Rangers are really trying to give riders speeding tickets on a bike trail?...They have nothing better to do, but harrass bikers. Funny thing is that, I'm not even a biker. I just ride my electric scooter on the bike trail doing the same speed limit as everyone else and that's about 22 miles per hour. Yes, we do exceed the maximum speed limit, but we know when to cut people off safely.

We rode through so I never saw them write a ticket personally. Maybe they were looking for really fast ebikes? Or those 1 wheel electric things you stand on. I had one pass me while I was at like 17mph a few days ago. He must have been doing 30, it was very fast.

People with expensive bikes pay tickets.
Can’t get money out of the homeless.
