    I have a Winchester Model 70 Alaskan in 375 H@H. It is my favorite rifle. A little bit of peace of mind when elk and deer hunting in Grizzly areas of Montana, Idaho and Wyoming….

      Yikes! I don’t know about the other states, but grizzlies in Wyoming are about the same size as the black bears. A deer rifle with the correct bullets is plenty for our bears.

    I can see you may have discovered what I did , .375 recoil causes even longer eye relief scopes to flip off the ol' ball cap. That's a good Alaska bear load.

      @wymonwatson1309 2 месяца назад

      Lmao why do people think you need a howitzer to kill a Kodiak or a brown bear? I mean their tough, but that caliber is designed for African game, much tougher animals. It's your shoulder do what you like 😮 myself, I'll stick to shot placement and proper bullet selections for the game I'm hunting in a more moderate caliber that I can actually afford to shoot well, and enjoy the experience. Now if I was headed to safari, I would definitely take the 375 and it's one of the smallest calibers you are allowed to use, so that tells you my thoughts on weapons.

    I would be interested in a video on managing heavy recoil. You definitely do handle some of the heaviest recoiling offerings very, very well.....better than most. With so many new shooters out there now, I would think you could give good tips. It would encourage folk to step into larger calibers and be less intimidated by recoil.

    That looks like a perfect general Alaskan hunting load. Moose, Brown Bear, Black Bear, Caribou, etc. I personally used the .338 Winchester Mag with 250 grain Barnes X bullets, but either will work well if you can shoot them accurately. Love the videos!

    What a great looking bullet and performance. Reloading the .375 H&H will save you a ton of money since factory loads can be north of $100 per 20 rounds. I am surprised at how well these bullets expanded. I love seeing you shooting the dangerous game calibers. Well done and Thank you.

    Warm load, keep an eye on case length. Because the .375 H&H case has so much taper, brass flows from the head area and case separations are a real possibility with repeated loadings.

    • @wymonwatson1309
      @wymonwatson1309 2 месяца назад

      Anytime you have a low shoulder angle and in an overbore cartridge especially, think .243 that's a real issue, I can only get maybe 5 shots from a piece of brass before it shows signs of head separation coming, I do tend to load 58gr bullets at max loads too. Your definitely on the right track, seems like the sharper the shoulder angle the more shots you get.

    Any thoughts on the 300 H&H Magnum? Curious since I recently picked one up and I all my handloading shows it is a little spicier than 30-06, but for the overall diameter of the cartridge and shortage of Magnum Primers, it doesn't really seem to offer much more advantage over 30-06
