I'm from NYC and think London has the best Chinatown in the Western world. Love the ambiance, restaurant quality, variety and the fact that there are no cars. So nice in the Summer and Fall.
Just started watching you mate think you can do well on RUclips great personality and you don’t drag anything out straight to the point. Much love from liverpool mate keep it up.
My daughter loves Chinatown. We go all the time. I don't even want to know how much money I've spent there over the years. We always get dinner there and buy loads in the supermarkets to take home. It's the best. We are going this weekend, so thanks for the recommendations. Great vid.
That crepe is called Jian Bing. You can sometimes get different pickles in there as well. It's also not chilli oil, its a slightly sweet chilli paste that's used. The crispy part is a fried crispy cracker. Additionally, the tea eggs are also boiled in soy sauce and spices, the tea itself is almost optional these days. The sesame balls are called Jian Dui and the filling is a red bean paste (not mung beans as the woman stated as that would be green). Mr Wu is the quintessential cheap as chips buffet to fill yourself up.
@@CharlieVlogs Try Wong Kei next time, it's literally where you were standing having your Mr Wu box. Wong Kei is the cheapest non-buffet sit down in Chinatown and is known for its famous bad service from staff, though nowadays it's fine.
Loving your Channel. Fun, cool, gritty vibe. I'm a math teacher, and tomorrow I will go all day using the word 5er with the students. Time to have fun with the lads.
Really enjoyed to is video, I work round the corner so I go for a walk around china town most days, I spend a bit more than your budget at lunchtimes but it’s good to see the different options. I’ll venture into one of those supermarkets next time. Keep going mate 🎉
The bit between the yolk and egg white can turn blue or grey after it's been cooked, I'm guessing they did those the day before and steamed them to serve the next day if it was warm, for it to look like that, completely safe though.
Not necessarily cooked for days. All it takes is MINUTES to overcook thr yolk. That's where the colour comes from, I've watched videos on boiling eggs at different stages of cooking 😊
Just watching for my first time!! Wonderful energy! Very informative videos of around London!! Better than most you tubers!!! I love that you even give travel instructions 😮😂yo going far on you tube mate...love this🎉
I loveddd tangy toms 😋The food is very cheap esp for central ldn! It's amazing that you got a takeaway box from the buffet for £5! The strawberry teddy bears looked good and so did the crepe!!
I remember avoiding those cheap buffet food when I was in London but I’ll have to trust you on that last recommendation as I’ve had most of the foods you tried on this video and I know for a fact that they’re actually good.
Yeh mate me too, in fact I had this EXACT place about 4 years ago and it wasn’t great at all, maybe it’s different ownership or maybe I went right at the end of the day last time I can’t remember 🤣
@@CharlieVlogsI’ve been to a few of these buffets in china town, does the tick after a night out. They are not great but you can’t complain for the price.
Another cool video! I checked The Union pizza you recommended, it was fast, cheap and good, thanks for the advice! Will surely check out the rest of the places
@@CharlieVlogs heck yeah it is, surprised we didnt bump into each other, I was around Chinatown at the same time. Shame all the cool stuff gets open so late, wanted to check out these buns and the bakery from the last video, but they were closed. Cheers for all the tips, you surely made my visit better mate!
M8 Just Subscribed...Do you remember Bengies...?..I used to get a pint of heinz tomato soup at charring Cross whilst walking from Waterloo to Riding House St...
Saw you do a food vid a while ago and this one seems alot higher quality! Good one mate, should try the Chinese buffets around there, can be alright or really bad and the really bad ones are entertaining.
Banging vlog mate,if you ever fancy a classic Londoners day out food vlog by the sea ...get down to Margate in the summer.Recommend the Olympia bakery for that sweet tooth sugar hit.
@@CharlieVlogs if you do drop me a message and I'll chuck you some places to hit...there are loads of little food spots when the sun comes out.Keep up the good work my man!!👍👍
Oh my god, Mr Wu. I eat there so much as a teenager, cheapest pre-rave buffet in the area (even cheaper back in those days) Vegan now so haven't been in years, but I still look at the window and enjoy the memories/smell of the red crispy chicken dish..
Nice video mate, London is one of the best places to just boot about and pick up food on the go. Most of the time i can't be arsed sitting in a restaurant for 2 hours.
Enjoyable stuff for sure, makes me wonder, would it have been better if you'd researched before hand. Different type/style of video though I'm sure. What's your thoughts on a video covering interesting traditional london pubs & pub foods?
It’s crazy cos having lived in London all my life I don’t think I have ever bought food in the centre , especially Leicester Square or China town. Maybe a Wendy’s on Oxford street with the children. Love your videos and am thinking the “ artisan “ food everywhere outside zone 1 now more expensive than tourist food. £4.50 for a tiny coffee and £5 for a fucking muffin. Made me want to jump on the bus to China town !!
Tell me about it I am in East Dulwich - used to be a few pound for a red stripe with the old rastas watching cricket - now it’s all deli’s and “ spaces” and artisan bakeries. Not a greggs in sight annoyingly. I can get CBD sausage rolls for £6 😂😂😂
We have recently started watching your videos and are currently working through your library. We play a drinking game….. every time you say ‘mate’ we have to take a shot. We average about 250 shots per video 😂😂……….MATE
Man, tell me you’ve recorded this all day long. You can’t have been that hungry. 😅 Anyways, thanks for the £5 takeaway box tip. I’ll definitely visit Mr. Wu.
Big love for all the support recently guys, you've been SMASHING it! More videos coming twice a week, shorts every single day as usual! 😁😁😁

@@CharlieVlogs yes!
Mung beans are beans, mate. Not fruit. Looking forward to that tea egg @CharlieVlogs
The egg yolk is green on the outside because it's overcooked, as it was cooked over a long period of time

Looks like red bean sauce. I didn’t know what kind of bean that was but sounds like she said mung bean
Yeh I think it was mung bean sauce
It'll be red bean paste/anko which is made from adzuki beans, the taiyaki you had filled with ice cream is quite often filled with it.

All you need is Chinatown, Greggs, Morleys and the hot foods section of M&S and you can keep your food costs low in London.
What is Morley's? You must be joking if you think that's low cost for everyone. I get Greggs and M&S when discounted 😢😂
Morrisons do four long sausage rolls wrapped in flaky pastry freshly made for £2.50
In china town which is central London??
Thanks for sharing

It's Richard from the Inbetweeners movie!
Do it for Turkish food as well. The most tasty food in the whole word trust me.

The blue tint in the egg is just what happens when egg is overcooked
