- On today's Halo Lore video, we discuss why the UNSC, and humanity in general, was not invited into the Covenant Empire! To answer this question, we must travel back to the creation of the Forerunners and Humanity, the precursors, and the war against the Flood.

If they invited us to join their covenant they would have activated the Halo rings long ago haha
Basically the humans are related to forerunners and that would disprove their religion so the prophets declared war on the humans calling them demons.
So, I had read this, and I had never thought of it with enough attention to realize that the whole Covenant-Human war was basically promoted by those three, darn Regret, Mercy, and Truth.
These Halo videos are getting me hyped for Halo Infinite

Humanity absolutely would have submitted to the Covenant if that had been an option. They were faced with extinction and any alternative would have been preferable. The Prophets' biggest mistake was seeking to destroy humanity rather than conquer them. It left the humans with absolutely nothing to lose.
Cuz they couldn't wort wort enough
if humanity was invited, I think they would either decline preferring independence from the covenant hierarchy, or if they accepted, they would cause a rift on the covenant religion by often questioning the interpretations of forerunner artifacts

It's interesting that humanity is never invited to galactic governments/alliances. Aliens are humanfobic racist.

Long story short, to put it in Stellaris terms
I demand a video of what happens if Humanity joins the Covenant.
Humanity and the Forerunners weren't entirely created by the Precursors. The Precursors are also implied to have engineered both species from their original forms, hence in the Halo Universe various species of archaic humans exist.
How would humanity respond? (In the voice of sgt. Johnson "Dear covenant, we regret being heretic bastards..." Etc.
