I was so happy to see Joel get reunited with his brother🥰This whole time Joel was thinking his brother was in danger and needing saving but it seems like Joel is the one who needs saving and that was apparent in this episode. It was nice to see Joel finally be vulnerable and open up with his brother about everything he's been experiencing. The ending of this episode had me in disbelief! I refuse to believe we are losing Joel and holding onto hope that he pulls through🥺I hope you guys enjoy my reaction to episode 6!
Joel is a very proud man. I've known a few like him that refuse to acknowledge when they need help, almost til its too late. Then, when they finally do, it can get messy. I was very glad Joel opened up to Tommy, and yes it was very unfair of Tommy to, initially, blame Joel. Joel and Ellies further bonding through this episode was so cool to watch, and,I must admit, has me very nervous for the both of them, considering the nature of this show and the world they live in. So much freakin fun watch with you Lauren. Have a beautiful day that's worthy of your smile. 🥰❤🧡💜. I'm out.
How can Joel die hbo max is doing a season two.
LoveLauren without makeup... SUPER FLY! Good call not wearing make-up though... this series is definitely a tear-jerker!
it would be wild if they killed Joel off
@@alojr35 Who’s to say any of these characters survive past this season, let alone be the main characters of season 2?
The problem with leaving the wood in the wound is that they had to mount the horse and escape. That piece of wood would hurt him much more with the movements after. You're only supposed to leave it in if you are able to lay down and stay completely still.
I was thinking the same thing. Leave it it, if the paramedics are on the way, to take you to hospital :)
The thing with leaving the bat in is, normally I stays in until your in a hospital, where they can give you blood transfusions and operate, but in this case there are no hospital, no blood transfusion and the risk that, with every movement, the broken bat, does more injuries, so pulling out was the right decision. If he dies of bloodloss now he would also die of bloodloss later when they pulled it out.
Pedro Pascal continues to nail this role. I felt his panic attacks, and I easily identified with his guilt-fueled struggles to stay detached from Ellie. Problem is, he already cares about her as a daughter, so his terror at the though of failing another child is palpable. Watching his walls come crashing down in that scene with Tommy was gut-wrenching.
Pedro Pascal deserves an Emmy nomination for this series.
I hear a lot of reactors say not to pull the knife out, but that only applies if you can get help quickly from an ambulance or something and you can stay stationary. Joel needed to get on the horse and run and if he had left the knife in the rough ride would've shredded his insides all to pieces.
Yeah, I keep pulling my hair out at all these reactions of this episode. If you're going to climb up onto a horse, it makes more sense to remove it and keep one hand as pressure on the wound while riding away. Plus it was a shard of a baseball bat - that would have splintered into several pieces internally if he'd left it.
Joel sacrificed a lot to find Tommy because Tommy had stopped communication. Tess died trying to find Tommy so I'm sure Joel was hurting a little when he found out Tommy was not only safe but living a pretty good life. He could've at least sent a message that he was safe.
Tommy literally tells him one of the reason why he doesn’t is because Jackson survival hinges on very few people knowing about it. Meaning no radio communication. The other reason is implied that Tommy wanted to get away from Joel and start a new life. Joel has been a sad and angry man for 20 years. If you ever been with someone like that you would know it can be suffocating, especially when they refuse help/change. Sometimes the best thing is to move on, which is what Tommy did.
Ellie already covered this. Joel and Tess made decisions on their own. It’s not Tommy’s fault and it certainly isn’t Maria’s.
@@tananario correct. They made decisions on their own to go West to find Tommy (with our without Ellie) because Tommy had stopped communication and they thought he was in trouble... which he wasn't.
Yep. Tommy is certainly partly to blame. He would have known Joel would risk danger to go and find him if he just ghosted him like that. Irresponsible. He could have at least gotten him one last message that he was fine. Ellie was right in saying she's not to blame because she had no say in any of it and didn't know Tess or Joel very well. Tommy certainly knows Joel and what he would do. I'd be a bit pissed too.
It's so funny, because I've been watching Northern Exposure. The Indian lady in this, is Marilyn in that show. Crazy seeing her now after so long. 😘💨
Another roller coaster of emotions episode. I really loved the performances of Graham Greene and Elaine Miles as Marlon and Florence at the beginning of the episode. They were awesome! Had me laughing. 😂 Great reaction as always, Lauren!
This is the most vulnerable we’ve seen from both Joel and Ellie yet. We know watching from Joel the desperation to close himself off to preserve whatever humanity he doesn’t want to lose yet and him breaking down in front of Tommy is indicative of how much he’s barely keeping it together, how this dam he built up for himself is breaking apart the more he gets closer to his new surrogate daughter.
Ellie, on the other hand, is a whole different kettle of fish. This is where her abandonment issues begin to boil over the more she loses her innocence; between being orphaned by her parents, being pawned off by Marlene, losing Riley, Tess, Henry and Sam, now she has to watch her father figure pawn her off and abandon her too? This girl can’t catch a damn break; it breaks my heart when she repeatedly tells him “Don’t leave me alone”.
Joel's line about loss, is harsh but it comes from a place of a parent who has lost a child, who died in his arms. Probably the greatest loss imaginable on top of 20 years of unbearably tough times that followed. Talking to a kid who has never left a quarantine zone....I see where he's coming from. She may know loss, but not at the level of losing a child is his perspective here. Harsh and maybe not right, but really tracks for his character.
If Sarcasm was the Force, Ellie would be Yoda
You deserve more subscribers lol...I love your reaction videos. 👍
No one can hurt you like family
Another week, another great episode of Last of Us, and another great reaction from LoveLaurenn. I'm still recovering from the emotional rollercoaster of LoveLaurenn's last reaction to Last of Us.
3:58 A lot of those scenes were filmed in Kananaskis, which is about a 45 minute drive from where I live :) As well, in this episode they filmed in my city, Calgary, at two of the schools I went to... the red-and-beige brick area is SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology), and the monkeys bit was filmed at MRU (Mount Royal University) at the Department of Theater Arts Amphitheatre (which also does film and TV studies courses). The city/town scenes were all filmed over the course of a few months in a town called High River, which is 1.5 hours or so North of Calgary.
Basically, TLoU is doing a splendid job of showing off Alberta and Canada :D
The scene where Joel & Ellie discuss Sarah and going their separate ways is acted almost identically to the game with practically identical dialogue. Soooo many easter eggs and nods to both games in this episode. Another home run for this show!
I don't watch this show. I played the game 10 years ago. But I like supporting reactors. LoveLaurenn has such a warm personality. Cheers!
I'm so glad he was reunited with his brother too!!
Well that escalated quickly lol I haven't finished the first game but I believe Joel will pull through. Great reaction
You're correct about the stab wound. Never yank it out. It keeps you from bleeding out.
love the shirt! that is the coolest shirt ever i wear nothing but black shirts so I love it well especially because it's batman returns lol love your style laurenn :)
The song at the end there is really beautiful
Batman Returns T-shirt. For the win :-)
First, the old man in the cabin at the beginning I've seen in a couple of movies... Dances with Wolves, Die Hard With a Vengeance, and Maverick are the three that come to mind. But every time I see him, I hear the one line from Maverick, "He wants us to talk like in the books. You know, 'How, White Man.' You people are such assholes." I've liked him in everything I've seen him in. Including this.
One of the tiny things I appreciate about this series (I don't remember if it was part of the game or not) is the way they have tossed in a few references to girls' menstrual needs. My uncle complains that "no one needs to see that," but it's part of life (and tbh, my uncle is an asshole). I have to admit, after puberty, I occasionally had to wonder how women in these apocalypse scenarios deal with a shortage in tampons, pads and the like. I like the attention to detail.
Hi Lauren hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️
I think he pulls the bat end out because you can't ride a horse with that inside, I would think it would cause more damage. You leave it in if you're going to be fairly immobile while help arrives or until you can treat it, but obviously they couldn't do that. Either way he was screwed.
Literally the cutest reaction! This show is just soooo good and bloody emotional! Lol! New subscriber ❤️ from London x
Was surprised to hear your 2nd whistle. I can also whistle through the front teeth, I haven’t heard many others that can do that whistle
Every reaction of this series right here on this channel is getting even better
I don't know why i'm nervous watching this even knowing what's gonna happen 😂😂😂😂
I'm so excited to know what you will think of the episode that I am very anxious in a good way 😂😂😂
You're so beautiful
Love this episode Oh MY GOD 💛
The gun is a Remington 700, you got it. Tommy says "I still have the 700..."
Never played the game but I'm loving the series so far and great reaction
16:02 Man, this scene hits so hard.
16:42 The way Joel was able to convince Tommy to take over transporting Ellie was way more satisfying than in the video game.
17:51 Man, the quiet anger in Joel’s voice is more impactful than it would be if he was simply raising his voice.
Lauren , My favorite part of your reaction was when Joel found his brother Tommy🥺🥰 hope Joel is OK to !!😰
Also Lauren I really love that fan made an art picture of you that was very sweet of that person a bit jealous to :( hope I get to see that art of you on your stream again Cause I need to ask you about your PO Box so I can send you a special gift from me🎁 ! and I hope it's OK I put a picture of you on my wallpaper on my phone to honor my new friend from RUclips and Instagram🤳🏾 I hope you find that very sweet of me Lauren!!
Great reaction. To be fair, if Joel hadn't pulled out the broken bat handle, the rapid movement of the escape horse-ride would have turned that shank into a chainsaw. Would have ended up with even more internal damage.
I keep hearing people say it and I understand why, but Joel was running of of pure adrenaline when he pulled it out and first off you can't ride with that inside because every step the horse takes will cause more damage and second...wood is not something you can leave in for to long since its incredibly unsanitary being 20 years old at least and even painted. I'm not saying it was ideal but if he wanted to leave it in, he wasn't riding anywhere.
7:26 - She's infected, but doesn't have the actual fungus. And I think that's what the dog is trained to detect.
You can't leave the shiv in stomach if you need to climb a horse and ride away. The second your abdomen starts moving with the shiv in it, you're dead. Or at least you're passing out from pain.
Ellie, ...so much sarcasm in one teenage girl...lol. The interactions between her and Joel are so good to watch. I knew he wouldn't leave her...I was concerned...but I knew he wouldn't leave her. Joel: you deserve a choice. Ellie shoves her bag into his hands.."Let's go". He's become her Father. I was actually grinning when I saw Tommy was there. Very happy Joel found him. Yes Joel was cold toward Ellie, In part, because Joel is a proud man and didn't want admit his fears to her. He overcame it, fortunately. Yes he should gave left the bat handle in place and no, I don't see Joel being lost. This was a great, but worrisome episode to be certain. As always, it was a joy and so much fun to watch with you, even though it's another week's wait for a cliffhanger resolution..lol. Thank you for what bring to us. So much peace and loveLauren 🥰🧡❤. Have beautiful day. I'm out. ❤✌️
Great job
I honestly think that the dog was just a scare tactic. If someone 'freaked' out about being sniffed, then they'd shoot to kill. But it's been like 9 years since I played the game. :P I might be missing something. lol
From a lot of the reactions I've seen to this episode, i've noticed this. People HEAVILY underestimate the bond Brothers have.
If I hadn't heard from my Brother in months, and he turned up the next day, he would still have my complete and full trust in everything. I know that isn't the case for everyone, but in my sheltered world, I'd take a lifetime in hell for my older Brother.
Joel wasn’t jealous of Tommy. He was upset Tommy didn’t want anything to do with him. He didn’t invite him to come there. Etc
Just like in game. R.I.P. Joel Miller 😭
I wasn't thrilled about that painful recap at the beginning.
However I enjoyed the episode alot, especially the heartfelt/vulnerable moments, and Ellie's sarcasm.
She is a sarcasm jedi
I hope Joel gets medical help very quick. Maybe Joel's brother decided to go check on them and will show up to help.
I don't know what's going to happen, but I saw GOT
So I'm very worried about season 2.
I haven't played either version of the game nor has the vast majority of viewers. I hope HBO understands that Joel and Ellie/their relationship is the main reason most people watch.
It’s a short action Remington 700 so probably a .243 or .308
14:44 - Out of all the reactions I've watched to this episode and that scene. You are the only reactor I've seen point out what I thought too.
Tommy was a grown man with his own mind. I'm sure Joel couldn't have pressured him into anything.
I've read that Maria made an excuse for Tommy because he's her husband and she loves him. But her opinion may also be influenced by what Tommy has said. Not that I think he Joel under the bus.
Hi Lauren first I love your Michael Keaton Batman T-shirt I wanna get one someday to ! I really enjoyed your reaction to this episode my fav part was when Joel finally found his brother Tommy💞 Tommy gonna be dad and his wife but most Predo as Joel Showing up Feelings were so emotional With tears like I lost my dad to 4 years I still cry for him every day🥺 Also Joel and Ellie's bond so happy that they still stick together That's the way it should be ! I'm with you Lauren let's hope Joel is OK cause He can't die hes the main character of the show but will both see in the next episode !
I'm also excited to see next reaction to Superman Lauren🦸🏻♂️ Also how is Rex and Luna giving my love💞
Very important question where did you put your art Of you Lauren I want to see that picture again I'm a bit jealous like I wanna draw you to my friend may one day I will and send you something very special but I need to ask for your P O Box First !!! 🎁🥰
@LoveLauren , Oh Lauren I hope you see my comments too my friend😥 I really enjoyed your reaction to this episode the part where Joel sees brother again my fav🥰 !
You have a beautiful smile 😃!! Just saying… lol
In the game Joel and the guy he was fighting took a tumble off a second story platform, over some railing and he got impaled on some rebar in the same spot. Yeah, it's some pretty intense stuff.
If you're curious, I highly recommend looking up IGN's "The Last Of Us - TV vs Game" videos. They show similar scenes between the two side by side, or one after the other to show you what is different/changed, what was moved to another spot, and what is the same. They don't spoil any future episodes, so they are safe to watch.
In the last scene in the game it doesn’t necessarily happen that way. Although I like the way they did it, in the game and the show Joel was wounded episode 7 should be fun!
I mean if you think about it, not pulling out what you were stabbed with didn't really become common knowledge until the death of Steve Irwin. That was in 2006, so that scenario never happened in this world. Hell, they never even got to see The Return of the King
People ( most reactions) say, inthe bar ",joel didnt tellTommy the truth*
Joel partially was being proud but also how would that go "I was looking for you, I was coming with Tess and she died in the way, no big deal*
Tommy woyld feel like sh...
Then againu i am glad he did later.
Joel did what people asked for told hin the trurh, the real hell they all endured while going therer . Tommy realized how dense he was and remember outsude that town is hell and hus bother was there and didnt even bother to let him know for him and Tess to be saved.
He has to pull it out. You are supposed to leave it in and immobilize the patient until care can be given. On a horse that thing will turn into a meat grinder.
the showrunners won't confirm or deny, but the speculation is the girl that stares at Ellie is actually her future girlfriend, Dina
I thought they made it more clear that the staring girl was actually Dina. I think it in the show’s podcast.
@10:19 -- that's the face of people who've been taught that communism = totalitarianism.
What series will you diving into after this, Laurenn?
I'm thinking the next season of Mandalorian!
@@LoveLaurenn LOVE IT, LOVE LAURENN!!👷
@@LoveLaurenn Really Lauren 😯, I love to see your reaction to mandalorian season 3 next after watching the last of us , so excited my friend !!!🥰
I love to watch your reactions to different movies and shows. I could tell that the last episode really messed you up. But on a side note you are a very beautiful young woman without make-up and I love seeing your hair down and straightened.
I imagine when Joel talks to Tommy about his dreams that it's most likely memories of Sarah that he relives; and in a world such as theirs even good dreams have become nightmares for Joel because when he wakes he's instantly reminded that Sarah isn't there and why, which speaks to his line " all I know is when I wake up... I've lost something." Life truly did stop for Joel about the same time his wrist watch stopped.😔
Okay hear me out… I think Joel removed the bat was to show Ellie that it wasn’t that big of a deal. Like she had nothing to worry about and not scare her. I think Joel didn’t want to fail her again.
Yep, agreed. Also, visibly it was not like it was a knife. He probably didn't think it was that deep. But also he needs to prove that he's a capable protector.
Imagine Joel dying before the season is over lol
🖖🙂
I wonder if people in TLoU world still eat mushrooms.
..I'm not ready for this show to end (this hasn't missed yet, a treat for fans of the game and non-fans alike)
Did not need to Henry recap tho..rude
24:51
I mean, are you sure?
It’s the last of us, and no one said who the us are.
Noooooooooo
Was that cute native American couple in the game?
They were not.
I really don't like Maria in the show. She practically brags about killing people and leaving their bodies as a warning ('those are the ones who tried us"), distrusts Joel because he's killed people and then completely dismisses Tommy doing the same because of Joel. Rules are for thee but not for me.
20:00 Tommy calls his rifle a "700" when they first arrive in Jackson. Maybe a Remington 700?
I think what Ellie finds in the room was a female condom. Not very popular.
I enjoy your reactions, I watched The Crow reaction, which is one of my favorite movies. Want to thank you for your content, your work.
I subscribed and will always like the videos I watch to support.
It's a menstrual cup
17:00 interesting that's exactly how God feels when we finally call out to him in our most desperate and vulnerable state. Except God won't just watch along he'll answer to us in Jesus name.
Even though it feels like it, Joel is not THE main character. It's Ellie's story. This can also be seen in the scenes of violence. Deaths are only shown when Ellie sees them herself. If Ellie's position makes it impossible for her to see death and violence, we don't see them, we only hear what Ellie hears.
That the dog detects an infection is nothing new and was shown to us by Merci in episode 1. Dogs also detect cancer and other diseases. The dog here has noticed that something is wrong with Ellie, but he has also noticed that there is no danger from her. Something Fedra's detectors can't detect. They only know black and white, just like Fedra is.
It costs overcoming to leave something stuck in your body that you do not want to have and does not belong there. The head must remain clear and you must be aware of what is happening to you. The scene is kept very realistic, also as far that the injury is not immediately noticed. Anyone who has ever severed a finger on a circular saw knows what I'm talking about.
Maria knows very well what she is talking about. She is clever and sees people.
Maria to Ellie: "Be careful who you put your faith in. The only people who can betray us are the one we trust."
Probably the most important sentence of this episode if not of the whole series.
Joel to Ellie: "Dream of sheep ranches on the moon."
This sentence says so much. Joel already connects Ellie's dreams with his.
Ellie drank from Joel's liquor and it was "STILL gross". That was a callback to the DLC.
Next episode Ashley Johnson (Game Ellie) will properly get an appearance in the Ellie Flashback (Game DLC).
This episode was a feast for everyone who played Part 2. we met Dina, properly Jessie (not sure), Shimmer, Bison Bar, sheep, kids playing snowball, Astronauts, Jackson see from the inside. Simply fantastic.
The campfire scene was not in the game, but was originally supposed to be included. What remained was a concept drawing. Druckman said he can now finally show more through the series than was possible in the game. That was one of them.
Joel and Ellie are both the main characters in this story.
@@gailseatonhumbert No, and he never was. He is listed as a main character but he never was. It is the children who are in the foreground.
Joel was a supporting actor for Ellie and before that he was supporting actor for Sarah.
