I love the icon line with coupons. I’m not a professional mechanic but I like to DIY a lot of my auto and home maintenance. I go mainly with Pittsburg and Quinn for the cheap and available tools but when a 25% off rolls around I like to get an icon on Doyle since they feel better in hand.
same here cheap tools but nice ones of on sale i’ll spend an extra 3-8$ more for a pro version but ain’t no way i’m spending 90-150$ on a single hand tool from snap on .. i ask myself do i want a new car , trip to japan, or snap on tools .. snap on never wins life live don’t listen to ppl saying you just can’t afford them lol no i chose not to
I was at Hobo Freight today and scoped out those slip-joint pliers you reviewed. The grips are nice, but I wonder how long they'll last before they either slip off or disintegrate. Guess for $15 it really doesn't matter!! That entire ICON line is top-notch, TBH!!
Hobo freight LOL! The grips seem like they'll hold up to me, especially as a DIY. Maybe in a shop. They might not last quite as long, but at the same time they do have a lifetime warranty and for $15 that is totally worth it. I really do like the ICON line.
@@oneanddonediy I can certainly appreciate a lifetime warranty, especially now that Sears is defunct! Yeah "Hobo Freight," guess I've been watching too much Vice Grip Garage 🤣

@@oneanddonediy @certifiedshadetree seems to be decent quality and they can be warrantied
The coin test is dumb. The snap-on pliers will fail after a few days of use.
I hope my sarcasm came through with this video by the 'penny test' in case anybody's wondering.
