My car came with a skunk2 header and rr catback when I bought it and I wouldn't change it for anything. I like it so much I don't even turn on the radio I just listen to the exhaust

Hell yeah bro awesome progress on the build so far 👊🏼 my opinion I would definitely say coilovers should be your next investment for midnight.. everything else is lookin solid right now. Yeah you’ll need brakes sometime in the future but you’ve still got some life left on those. I’d get a set of decent coils then wheels and tires. Love watching your videos and seeing the build progress man.
You are right about the no drone. I have a 3" XLR8 Catback paired with stock header. The mega power seems to add the deep rumble because the tubes are slightly unequal length. Mine has barely any drone at all but when you hit vtec, it sounds like a sports bike, not ricey at all even though it is only stock header. Good review man

I have the MegaPower R 70mm with a Injen CAI on my '08 Si. I absolutely love it! No drone, nice deep growl, and I also get that "backfire pop" that you get haha. Sounds great at higher rpms and sounds like there's nothing there at lower rpms/cruising. Sweet ride man!
yeah it does that popping because the unburnt gasoline is hitting the hot pipe of the catback (stainless) and igniting is how i understood it. the stock system doesnt do this!!
I just ordered the skunk2 alpha header and the megapower rr exhaust and then seen you post this video and I gotta tell you, every single question I had and doubt that I had was just reconciled by the content you released. Thank you so much for posting high quality content about your car. One question I did have, do you have experience with the 76mm megapower vs the 70mm?
Like I told Stephen, the skunk2 76mm and alpha header is extremely loud. I don't know why he didn't think so; it might be the initial euphoria or flashpro. Just a warning if you're okay with driving this setup every day. Hearing loss, tinnitus, noxious fumes, passenger discomfort, and loss of low end torque/misfiring if you don't have reflash or flashpro. The silencer helps but is an inconvenience and reduces torque if you have a lightweight flywheel. But if you like the sound and top end torque then yeah it's one hell of an experience

Loved the video. What I've noticed is people with stock header and cat usually have drone, people with a race header doesn't usually have drone. Also don't do drilled and slotted rotors. Drilled rotors tend to crack. Slotted rotors are fine tho. Personally I run centric blanks with stoptech sport pads on my daily, and when I go to the track I run centric blanks and carbotexh xp12. Micah Myricks normally, I would probably agree. If you intend to track ur car, I wouldn't exactly recommend drilled and slotted, at least from PowerStop. I had their rotors on my mustang (which were a steal at 70 bucks for a front pair alone). They do work pretty darn well and look great for the price, but upon a few reviews and those at American Muscle advised that they really aren't track oriented. However, for all intents and purposes, they were great for everyday use and shouldn't *brake* the bank. :3. I'd say go for it.

i have the skunk2 catback 76mm RR. stock header. no drone. the car sounds great during all power range from idle (barely can hear it ) to WOT. there is noise but its the tone of the engine, the tone of the exhaust etc. the only way to stop that is a muffler.
Yes it drones. No not too ricey. Yes too loud. I have a skunk 2 header and mega power RR exhaust. Invidia header and full race car back is the perfect combo.
I really miss my megapower r, but I had too many close calls with it, so I sold it. I will say, it is one of the best sounding exhaust that I’ve ever had on my civic, and I’ve had a few.

I have the same exact setup but I have the sedan. I paid almost $900 for the headers and the catback together. I can tell You, it's the best exhaust you can get for a honda civic si. This exhaust is as quiet as you want it to be. Unless you're going up mountains 24/7, it is a dream. My parents think it's too loud (they only listen to cold start), but my girlfriend and I went on a cruise and she actually ended up falling asleep while I was going up and down mountains. It backfires A LOT, so if you like the crackles and pops, get the alpha headers and megapower R exhaust. The rr will probably pop just a little more but will also drone a lot more. And just an fyi to viewers, the go pro doesn't do the sound justice. It sound a lot more raspy on a go pro than in real life. Any questions about the exhaust, I can help you out probably.
Your car sounds mean bro! I got the complete Powerstop brake kit for my FG2 which includes front & rear red calipers, pads and drilled & slotted rotors for around $650 and its worth every penny. Also I have the Full-Race 3" cat-back and it sounds amazing! Can't wait to get header, intake & hondata flashpro with a tune.

even if he only has bolt on basemap parts like skunk2 bolt on? i heard there is already skunk2 profiles for bolton headers, catback, CAI , manifold and whatnot (skunk2 setups), so unless you go changing your cams or valves or something, the dyno tune isnt worth it right?
I love the video and you did an excellent job describing the exhaust however, coupled with a Tsudo header and k&n typhoon intake, this exhaust WILL drone. I love how the car sounds at high rpm’s but at about 2500-3250 the car drones a lot.
I know this is an old upload however I recently picked a bone stock 1 owner 8th Gen '08. And got this same exhaust today brand new for $300 looking forward to putting it on.

Full Race is absolutely the best! My opinion. I have the FR paired with an Alpha. I have an ASP k20 custom header still sitting in the box... curious if my setup would be any louder if I threw the ASP on...

I have a '08 Si FG2 too and I got FBO, injen intake, throttle body spacer, lowering springs, HONDATA flash base map, and full SPEC-D exhaust system in which yeah it was pricesy $500 but I love it. I got a few videos with it, let me know if you want me to send you the video that way you can hear it

I'm not sure your setup is considered FBOs either... if you're running a stock TB & stock RBC I have the HR CAI and a J35 TB and a port matched RBC along with an Alpha header and FR catback

hell yeah it is. i have the 76mm megapower RR. that bad boy is mean. I also have the skunk2 CAI as well. if you get the skunk2 CAI you will be amazed the sound is almost like having a turbo. it has so much vacuum power when you hit WOT. it sounds like a frigging blowoff valve or somethin!
Definitely get some drilled and slotted, powerstop is an excellent product for a very reasonable price. You will notice better stopping power immediately. As seen on the front and rear of my fg2

Coilovers: best bang for buck are godspeed monomax, they are full adjustable. If you want something comfortable for daily street get the tein street advance z and cheap
Jared Shattuck I agree they ride good, it's a good option if you just plan dailying it. It's not good however if you slam them because they don't have much strut travel. So it's best to keep them a little consevative
You got a nice deal on the exhaust my wrx exhaust 15 is too expense the one I wanted is r400 invida which cost about $916.37 which is a lot lol so I just went a Japan that not popular brand srs axel back it sound the same as the r400 I happy with I got

I heard drilled rotors cracked. Idk if you need a rebuilt maybe a compression test? My rsx type s has 237XXX still runs like a champ. I just had to replace my valve cover gasket. That exhaust for 100 is a steal. Yonaka makes a good one to.

Make sure those tires are ok before the top speed run, my 2011 si coupe black beauty did 125 hitting the rev limitor in edge of 5th into 6th before stopping at 5 k.
Brett Donati Fastest I ever saw an Si was from brazil at 315 kmph or 198 197 mph on a fully 100% built si black 4 door turbo itnis called the black bull. and a red si 9th gen si red was called red devil, I really want a k24/k20 bottom to top k20 head with the cams from a tsx k24a2 I think. mine will be full all motor no super or turbo charger.
It’s a tough comparison.. I’d compare price first, then sound. I think they both sound very similar. Either way you go, they’re both high quality exhausts
I think the Skunk2 is deeper, but not sure. I was going to pair it with a 1320 UEL header to get the rumble sound out of the D16. I think both exhausts look good, but I like the Invidia N1 a little more with the titanium burnt tip.
1.Brakes. Drills/Slotted are not worth it 2. Get yourself quality Coilovers 3. you can do timing chain and tensioner related inside the car. its just tight.

Bro, idk what it is, but the skunk2 megapower is just so aggressive sounding, no rasp, it backfires, shoots flames, and is deeper than spec d. Believe it or not, my spec d exhaust used to pop and crackle wayyy more though at lower rpms

Gerb Productions not really bro. Tbh the only time it feels less torquey is when I’m flooring the gas when the gauge shows less then 4K rpm. Once it gets to 4k, vtec opens it just goes from there all the way to redline at 8.6k. Full torque, no loss of power. But idk. Thats my way of telling..

even if he only has bolt on basemap parts like skunk2 bolt on? i heard there is already skunk2 profiles for bolton headers, catback, CAI , manifold and whatnot (skunk2 setups), so unless you go changing your cams or valves or something, the dyno tune isnt worth it right?
I love the video and you did an excellent job describing the exhaust however, coupled with a Tsudo header and k&n typhoon intake, this exhaust WILL drone. I love how the car sounds at high rpm’s but at about 2500-3250 the car drones a lot.
I know this is an old upload however I recently picked a bone stock 1 owner 8th Gen '08. And got this same exhaust today brand new for $300 looking forward to putting it on.

@@TheGerbsteve 🤦♂️ that sucks. But I found a steal of a deal on a used full invidia header back system for $375. I really just got it for the headers and sell the q300 catback but now I might just use the full Invidia system and sell the Skunk2. They're both 70mm systems.
Honestly it’s a great exhaust! Worth the money if you like an amazing sounding cat back. Also can feel a lot more power and responsiveness 💯

Full Race is absolutely the best! My opinion. I have the FR paired with an Alpha. I have an ASP k20 custom header still sitting in the box... curious if my setup would be any louder if I threw the ASP on...

I have a '08 Si FG2 too and I got FBO, injen intake, throttle body spacer, lowering springs, HONDATA flash base map, and full SPEC-D exhaust system in which yeah it was pricesy $500 but I love it. I got a few videos with it, let me know if you want me to send you the video that way you can hear it

Adam Long mine included the headers and I love how it sounds! Low RPM has that deep rumble sound but if you get on it, it sounds different

Yeah I didn't think that brand as expensive... I have an ASP custom k20 header that was $1400 alone, currently tho I have an Alpha header paired with a Full Race catback... the FR 3 inch was $600 and the Alpha was $450
I'm not sure your setup is considered FBOs either... if you're running a stock TB & stock RBC
I have the HR CAI and a J35 TB and a port matched RBC along with an Alpha header and FR catback

hell yeah it is. i have the 76mm megapower RR. that bad boy is mean. I also have the skunk2 CAI as well. if you get the skunk2 CAI you will be amazed the sound is almost like having a turbo. it has so much vacuum power when you hit WOT. it sounds like a frigging blowoff valve or somethin!

yeah get a skunk2 CAI, and a carbon fiber hood thats what i have, and you will hear a huge increase in vacuum noise!
Definitely get some drilled and slotted, powerstop is an excellent product for a very reasonable price. You will notice better stopping power immediately. As seen on the front and rear of my fg2

You might just need a rebuild... but I would either upgrade your head or swap for a k24 block during the rebuild

Coilovers: best bang for buck are godspeed monomax, they are full adjustable. If you want something comfortable for daily street get the tein street advance z and cheap

I heard drilled rotors cracked. Idk if you need a rebuilt maybe a compression test? My rsx type s has 237XXX still runs like a champ. I just had to replace my valve cover gasket. That exhaust for 100 is a steal. Yonaka makes a good one to.

Make sure those tires are ok before the top speed run, my 2011 si coupe black beauty did 125 hitting the rev limitor in edge of 5th into 6th before stopping at 5 k.

Brett Donati Fastest I ever saw an Si was from brazil at 315 kmph or 198 197 mph on a fully 100% built si black 4 door turbo itnis called the black bull. and a red si 9th gen si red was called red devil, I really want a k24/k20 bottom to top k20 head with the cams from a tsx k24a2 I think. mine will be full all motor no super or turbo charger.
I say drilled rotors are worth it if you only use it on track but not worth using it daily uses its your choice
I have slotted and drilled rotors. Much better than stock. Much better stopping power. And they actually work great for daily driving

It’s a tough comparison.. I’d compare price first, then sound. I think they both sound very similar. Either way you go, they’re both high quality exhausts
I think the Skunk2 is deeper, but not sure. I was going to pair it with a 1320 UEL header to get the rumble sound out of the D16. I think both exhausts look good, but I like the Invidia N1 a little more with the titanium burnt tip.

Bro, idk what it is, but the skunk2 megapower is just so aggressive sounding, no rasp, it backfires, shoots flames, and is deeper than spec d. Believe it or not, my spec d exhaust used to pop and crackle wayyy more though at lower rpms

Gerb Productions not really bro. Tbh the only time it feels less torquey is when I’m flooring the gas when the gauge shows less then 4K rpm. Once it gets to 4k, vtec opens it just goes from there all the way to redline at 8.6k. Full torque, no loss of power. But idk. Thats my way of telling..
