The very specific 118 inches is nearly exactly three metres.
The little shock activated sticker is a nice touch! Good way to find out if the shipping company handled it appropriately.
nice video, ive been waiting for a review for a while!
I think it was filling the tank initially and that's why it had the water dispensing warning... which is scary, but you probably should read the manual I bet it warns you it will do that :D
Thanks for sharing your experience, as you have worked with Decent, how do you think for a roastery, which one is more benefitful to setting up the roasting profile? Which one is more productive and gives data and graph enough? Decent VS Sanremo you ??
Can you flow profile and what's the lowest flow rate? As in is there any ability to have an approach similar to Decent, in terms of flow during pre-infusion or a pour-over approach, where the flow is on then off or at extremely low levels (Scott Rao 2.1) etc? I've spoken to Sanremo initially and they've indicated that the app is being developed towards being able to design shots and have the You execute, just not sure where the limitation of this unit are/will be. Very interesting though.
Brian, I hope you're going to do a full review when you've had a good play.
I've had mine for a few months and love it.
Absolutely will! So far loving the experience of the machine.
Nice! This is my next upgrade for sure!
Just like Xmas unboxing toys 👍😀
How does the La Marzocco GS3 stack up. I realize the YOU has a bunch of electronics, but that does not make the machine just makes it look cool.
What’s with the fast fill?
It is a great machine! New firmware 1.37/1.38 will be out in a couple of days. App and WiFI enabled, great usability upgrades. I have been working with the SR product dev team, feeding back community input. More interesting things to come further down the line.
Excited for it
@@LanceHedrick just a couple of days for it to surface. Latest updates received today.
I hear the US version does not have WIFI
@@timwargo5306 The WiFi module is installed in all YOU‘s that have been produced since October 2022. Machines before that date can be easily upgraded and SR stated they would provide the module free of charge in case it is a machine from a production run before Oct 2022. WiFi and app connectivity have been enabled with the latest firmware update 1.39/1.37 released on 30 May 2023. This should be regardless of country.
@@christopherschmitz1804 Thank you so much for the info. I have been looking at machines for a while now and the La Marzocco GS3 MP Manual was going to be my choice, until I saw this one. Little more industrial look and I do worry about all the electronics. Any thoughs.
Umm - love the video and great to see the You. Wow really stunning. It makes good coffee - well it should for the price of a small car! What’s with all the Decent can’t steam burns? Did I miss something? How does this massive machine heat up in 5 mins? Is it 220v?
The boilers on it are relatively small (not a bad thing), leading to a faster heat up time.
Congratulations
Do the well known commercial Sanremo models (racer, etc) use the same cartridge heated E61 groups, or something different?
+1, I’m wondering about this too.
I was really stoked when I first heard about that machine and really wanted it.
Since then I decided to go with the Decent XXL.
Not too while ago I saw a post saying (and showing) that underneath that neat screen there is an e61 (they call is SR61 I believe?) group! I was shocked.
What do you think about that?
It’s been fine. I can independently set the temperature of my group from my boiler and do some interesting things with temperature that I couldn’t do with a saturated group. The experience is good.
So far the SR61 has been great! No problems across the mostly light roasts I've been pulling.
@@BrianQuan Glad to hear that.
But something still bugs me about that fact.
Waiting for your review video…
There's going to be an new Decent machine out eventually, kinda looks more like this, has some nice new features, and is also more expensive.
Update: yes it is a modified e61 for improved temperature management, but still an e61 so confuses the hell out of me. Ideally you'd want something more spectacular at this price, even though digital control is excellent. Yeah I'm seriously struggling with the You vs Decent XXL decision, as I find the Decent hard to love but gotta respect it. Hoping for Brian's review pre-30 June as eligible for discounts etc. Get the feeling it's be 'if you want tactile, go the You. If you want optimum contol, go the Decent." which really doesn't help. I wonder how the XXL steam compares. Brian I believe only has the base model or XL with the low steam. Think I've watched his video 9-10 times hoping to pick up something different that I hadn't noticed haha
3:03 is that an Audrey? I want more on that machine
1:10 wow, just had flashbacks to watching Mythbusters as a kid!
Worth upgrading from a Synchronika with flow control? It's a steep price increase!
I want one
Where I live the price tag on it is $9333 while the 3gr F18SB is $9500 😂.
Clicked for the title and thumbnail 🫰🤌
We're trying out here to get some nicer thumbnails! Glad you noticed
Nice Cremina
Sports car espresso
It seriously sounds like one too when you brew!
9k rough estimate compared to a Decent at 3-4.5k. Hmm. I think the decent is the winner... Or others in between.
No, where I come from the YOU is about 9K delivered and the Decent is close to 7K delivered that's not far apart and with the YOU you get local support.
Expensive but a different machine. Decent is coming out with a more expensive, fancier option too, I think with a similar gear pump or something like what this uses, which I think also sounds annoying but a different kind of annoying :D
Another option is the Meticulous which I've backed myself. Robotic lever machine with a very nice interface.
i can't be the only one who is just turned all the way off by bigger screens on espresso machines. i am not against the functionality of screens, it's just that most everyone, but especially the clientele that buys machines of this price all have higher resolution, higher refresh, more responsive screens in our pockets. from costs to repairability, the trend towards screens build in to machines is (just imo!) not a positive.
I agree. I also feel this way about car technology. Something cannot feel timeless with technology that becomes dated a short ways into its lifecycle. I prefer the Bugatti approach. I think that a separate ipad for full control would work better. Then you could just run a number of saved profiles straight from the machine without needing to interact with an integrated screen on the daily.
@@blaked205 absolutely was thinking about the car analogy when writing the comment, hah!
This thing is so baller.
Why do you own 2 flat max?
