Kind of unusual to store 5 gallon pails of margarine in a shed. It's more likely they were repurposed as storage containers. They could of been filled with used motor oil, nuts and bolts, Playboy magazines ... but it's far more than likely they were filled with redline hot wheels! :-)
Those are the kind of margarine and butter containers we used to get in our bakery. They probably knew someone with access, and got some for storage. I have flour and sugar in mine.
I'm almost certain I saw a Canada Post "monotainer" in the garage. It's a steel cage that folds up flat. It should have a plate welded to it, identifying it as Canada Post property. They never sell them off to the public. What happens is, some large companies get large quantities of mail delivered in these cages. The driver picks them up on his next delivery. Sometimes people take them home for their own use. I'm pretty sure C.P. would take it back, no questions asked.
Someone in that house worked in a Resturant, and brought the buckets home for storage. They actually make nice storage bins and car wash buckets, I've even seen folks use them as planters for veggies.
I'm so excited to see that you will be on the Vintage Rescue Squad show on the Thrifter Junker Vintage Hunter channel Monday night. I've been watching you since before the Potter's House series and Misty (TJVH) and everone at VRS are part of my vintage thrifting community. It is going to be a great show!
Van's nice but where its rusty is where it meets the floor board. So could be more work than its worth. But the custom windows are well worth the 200 bucks. And yes we love our old Van's, I own a 73 Dodge.
So much good stuff...to the right person. There is so much iron and metal they could load up that trailer and scrap most of what's there. Clean out and make a few bucks.
Pet peeve: it's so easy to prevent/stop this kind of rust damage: lanoline grease/Fluid Film - or any sort of cheap or junk oil/grease you can put in cavities, even spraying the rig with chain oil
My Mum had a Peugeot bike, It was great to ride.. I use to love having it on a top gear and racing to and from school. It wasn't very comfortable and was pretty heavy and a little too big for me but I still rode it anyway. She gave it away not long ago. It looked the same as the one in the video.. I think her handle bars were different though.
That van would certainly love to be saved by a vanner, custom vans are getting popular again. The rust was not too bad, I bet one of the new radiators in garage was for it, and probably the wheels are someplace, maybe those were the two up on the garage shelf too?
Hi I guess you can fix up the bikes the windmill was cool but the rest was just junk .Oh the hanging chain was worth taking .I agree Alex should have called Josh .
like how you left the radiators so they could benefit from the scrap value of them, very thoughtful. and I like you're friend's name, as it's my sirname
That van would have made a good curiosity inc van! Like the scooby van. Such a shame about the rust. It would be great for advertising the business.... to the curiosity mobile.. haha.
Hey Alex, interesting pronunciation of Peugeot! I would have thought coming from a dual language speaking country that you would know this! 😜 He he! Interesting vlog , poking around the old yard. Cheers
Everyone is so different. The only thing I saw that would interest me was the windmill . Oh, and maybe that hammer. You can never have too many hammers.
Alexander, if I were to tell you to take anything you could use for free I really would mean it! I’d even pay you if you could suggest who might also want to take something!
13:42 That's a vacuum, right? My Gramma had one in the coat closet but I don't think she ever used it when I was visiting. I just saw it in the video and had a flash of memory, sitting on it in the closet when the cousins and I were playing Hide & Seek.
Your sense of do it right, treat people right,... you're good to the core Alexander. Thanks for sharing...👍

Norm, that thought will give Alex restless sleep tonight. Hahaha
That was so nice to see! And you are awesome to pay them too. Thank you for taking us along!
Since I have been watching your hoarding videos, I have cleaned out my house and become a minimalist hahaha :)
"It smells like the 70's in here." LOL!!! 😂😂😂
Pot ?
Your integrity is always inspiring. I enjoy watching all of your adventures. 👍🏼🤍
wkjeom, I doubt they give a rat's...

Glad you were able to get some items from that garage. I really liked the windmill. Thank you.
Love going on these little adventures with you.
Great video. I love looking at old stuff in garages. You never know what You will find.😀👍♥️🇨🇦🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉💯💯💯💯💯

It's always fun to see what people are getting rid of. And what you find worth taking. Learning experience.
All the industrial garage stuff, and a domestic ironing board lol!
Wow! Didn't expect to see you again this evening!! Always love your videos Alexander 🧭🗺🌎
I would of got a shovel out of garage and dug up the ruebarb plant in back yard!!! Love it but doesn't grow well in Virginia. Angel from Norfolk!!
Someone in that house worked in a Resturant, and brought the buckets home for storage. They actually make nice storage bins and car wash buckets, I've even seen folks use them as planters for veggies.
I love how your brain turns what it's receiving into a polite phrase that says it all "It smells like the 70's in there". 😁
Shaggin' wagon......LOL, Alexander!
I feel he will go back and buy it...blessings for a great deal...love his video's from Red Deer Alberta Canada
I hope not.@@normajeanheward7118
Yeah, a little saucier than Alex usually jokes.
Nancy why not it's a very nice classic van
Great one-liner!
That van is so cool, I love the colors! Such a shame about the rust.
If I were only younger, I loved the older ford engines and those old school standard transmissions. You just live right
Just going to bed this popped up so had to watch..lol 😂

WOW, a real boogie van!
Always an adventure in these drive alongs!

These finds are fun to go through. Thanks!
They need to call a clean out scrapper instead if Alex.
Pump jack! 10:50 always useful for moving heavy stuff on pallets.
So much good stuff...to the right person.

The engine looks like maybe a 302, 2 barrel Carb. Have fun..👍
Hello.from.locked down Melbourne, Australia.......
Oh look away, junk cars Alex......
Hi neighbor. Locked down in Adelaide.
Can’t wait to see your new adventure

Dude it's the Scooby van!

You always meet such interesting people!! 🚘💛🚘🧡🚘❤️
The Modine 729 radiator goes for between $250 and $350 new.
Alex, your shirt is awesome! love the retro flamingo theme!
When you walked to the backyard and there were those old junkie cars I yelled NO ALEX! 😂
I think there was an entire chorus of us! 😂
@@Lucinda_Jackson OH yeah!!! LOL
@@Lucinda_Jackson Yep. 😄
Oh me too. When he open that rotten van I shouted "Don't do it Alex!"
@@nancymontgomery8897
That van was pretty grody...🤢
That windmill was cool. Glad you found stuff you could use. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Margarine is one molecule shy of of being plastic, try it inst still good! LOL!
Love your family from Red Deer Alberta...I will get the gift for you next week...
I feel like you are going to buy the van at the end of video
Fun video. I loved it.
I would have gone for the Lincoln. It looks great.
That van would certainly love to be saved by a vanner, custom vans are getting popular again. The rust was not too bad, I bet one of the new radiators in garage was for it, and probably the wheels are someplace, maybe those were the two up on the garage shelf too?
I sure could use that front grill & dog house wooden console cup holder for my Dodge camper van, lol !!!
Hi I guess you can fix up the bikes the windmill was cool but the rest was just junk .Oh the hanging chain was worth taking .I agree Alex should have called Josh .
With the motors and other auto parts and the stove and the rest of the metal there's a good scrap load
Plus the two vehicles
like how you left the radiators so they could benefit from the scrap value of them, very thoughtful.

G'day from South Australia xxx
Hey there fellow South Aussie. Hope you are staying safe in this fierce weather.
@@tiaking2002 good lockdown weather, stay warm 😊
Another South Aussie, watching my favourite RUclips channel and keeping warm.
Looks like a fun pic!

In Canada we call them wheel covers. At one time early in the 20th century they did cover the entire wheel.
Canada so large, so many old clunkers/cars lurking in back yards..... and Alex right in the middle of it!
Fun pick! Josh would have been helpful on this one. Also - nice shirt! Very snappy.
stuffologist
you just added a new word to my vocabulary
"It smells like the 70s in there."
always fun to go on adventures with you .... even into a mechanics garage ... good scavenging!
Love your picking
The EIS brake fluid can also made brake wheel cylinders, I have a pair for my 1956 Olds. They appear to be out of the auto brake business
"Shaggin' wagon" lolol
So glad you got the windmill! It’s really cool. You are such a good person!
Your the man, man!!!
Just wanted to say what a handsome man your Dad was! Also, that shirt is awesome and must be vintage
Hey Alex, interesting pronunciation of Peugeot! I would have thought coming from a dual language speaking country that you would know this! 😜 He he! Interesting vlog , poking around the old yard. Cheers
I thought not all of Canada is bilingual? Only certain parts where they speak French or both?
Too Bad Josh didn't go on this pick. no telling what he could use!
Same!
Exactly what I was thinking.
He would have snagged all those chains, bike chains or not.
Everyone is so different. The only thing I saw that would interest me was the windmill . Oh, and maybe that hammer. You can never have too many hammers.
New Ghostbusters movie coming in November. Looks cool. Just saw the trailer.
The Mac Mats would have been a good find as well as the kitchen cupboard outside. But you still came home with some good "stuff".
I love your shirt, Alex!
That boogie van could be amazing if the right person were to buy it!
i like those old multi colored vans or ones with pictures painted on the side,
Quickly skipped over the Playboy mag. Smooth.
Time to do some hubcap yard art.
Too bad the van was so rusted out. ♥️
You should take that old stove and have it refurbished. They sell really high. In fact, I want one badly.
Lots of cool stuff, Liked
Did I see what I think I saw in the wooden locker in the garage. (slowly pans away and closes lid)
Had to go back and look lol 08:11
@@justmeiniowa then you hear him say "I think I hear him coming". Almost busted with the stash
Those 1970's vehicles look like some of Dean's Greasy Flips from Alberta's own Cold War Motors.
Love the way you pronounce garage. I am from Yorkshire in England and we pronounce it "garridge".Does not have the same ring somehow! 😕
Well the price couldn’t get any better 😂
I owned that exact same model peugot push bike in the 70's
A Dodge Goodtime Van! My parents had one, shag carpet and all!
I Love, The Journey😊
I think that Ford engine is a 351 Windsor. Not sure though.
Looks fun
Looks like there was plenty of metal Josh could use!
Maybe there are many Things for Hans or Joshua too....
That van looks like the A-Team van.
Some light reading material 08:10
Pervy me noticed that right away!!!
I would think old issues would be worth something?
Alexander, if I were to tell you to take anything you could use for free I really would mean it! I’d even pay you if you could suggest who might also want to take something!
you're good at stuff. LOL
Love the shirt 👚
Cool!
I swear I could smell "old truck" when you opened the door of the Dodge truck.
The A team van.
Saw you dodging the camera past those girly magazines. 😆
For which I say " thank you for being a gentleman, Alex" ~ my grandkids watch this show, & I recommend it as a good clean family show all the time.
