Vintage finds and fun at the shop! Развлечения
Making your wife happy. You are a good man.
You boxing with the ET toy was so funny!!
Agreed, funniest I’ve seen Alex. I’d love that ET
I have a boxing nun! Lol
This was sooooo hilarious
@@theresac.3216 wow, that has even ET beat, LOL!!
Lol don't ever change Alex! Boxing ET was hilarious
Before I retired, I had a 1 hour commute (each way). I *loved* listening to audiobooks. Some audiobook readers are true artists and really enhance the listening experience. 👍❤️
I listen to audiobooks constantly. It started when we would use them to kill time traveling from western Montana to Pennsylvania and back. Then it became a good way to fall asleep at night. And something to keep my mind occupied while my hands were busy cleaning house. Now I am too tired to do much of anything most of the time, so I lie there and listen to someone read me a story.
I use to have a 1 1/2 hour commute (each way) and listened to them too. Use to pick up books on cassettes from garage sales and library's, who use to sell their old ones, then moved on to CDs and finally to downloads. I'm retired now, but whenever I drive a long way, I still listen to audiobooks and continue to look for CDs at garage sales. You're right, some of the readers are extremely good.
I honestly laughed out loud at you playing with E. T. 😁
I once read a book about a toy company, where one of the characters said toys are not really designed for children. Children don't buy toys. Their parents do and a toy that looks like fun to the parents will sell twice as much as a toy that fascinates children. I wonder if Stephen, Jason, or Abigail would have got as much fun out of that toy as you do.
I love that the Lego castle flags need to all be blowing same direction!!
It was fun to see you play!! You look more relaxed. I'm very glad to see that! Keep ET. You are really funny with him. Put him in a trunk so one day you can play with grandchildren!
You are so right. That was hilarious!
I had that Barbie camping set. I loved it 🥰 my sister had the camper. We used to drive our cat around in it 💕
That ET was the best laugh I’ve had all day!
Alex, I have been meaning to sign up for Audible, so your offer was timely. Thank you, just followed your link and easily got the discount. 👍
Dear Mr. Archbold.
The hilarious boxing ET could be useful if customers in the shop make a brazen price offer for something you want to sell!?
Best regards luck and health to all of you.
Your ET segment was really good! Looked so natural!
Really Love seeing you get Sponsorships. I Subbed somewhere around 80,000 and it's amazing to see how much the channel has grown. Even with that Watching the E.T bit proves you haven't changed at All, your still just as quirky as the first video I watched. Lol. You deserve the recognition and money for all of your hardwork.
Alex you are almost always good for a laugh!
Untangling the jewelry sounds like a great job for your daughter! She gets the choice between a couple of pieces and some Christmas money.
Alex you look so dapper in that red buffalo check shirt! I enjoyed this haul. I think Melissa will love that necklace. Thanks!
You were right I did love it :) Thanks for watching ❤
I love your sweater!! gorgeous color. Fab.
Even I want the E T! How cute! I bet it sells in minutes. I have an old 78 record of Bing Crosby that my step-mom bought. They sold her the wrong record. Was she surprised when she put it on the record player and out comes Bing Crosby singing and cussing up a storm! There was nothing written on the label. It's just empty. Years ago, my oldest brother picked it up like you are holding that record and a piece broke right off the side. I've still got it though. My Dad was a Engineer on the Northern Pacific Railroad. He always wore overalls and hats to work. He would put his dinner in a jar and heat it on the engine while going down the track. He retired after 37 years. He loved it. It was his dream job.
Cool stories!
Alex that part with E.T. is priceless. That was so funny. Thank you.I needed that. Do that with Hans, I can hear him laughing.
Oh yeah! Hans would lose it laughing.
That cracked me up so much! I really want a gif from that scene to send it to my friends
I see a new calling for Alex.
"The ET and Alex show!"
Rated M for violent content when ET punches Alex.
I spent many hours in front of the wood stove, building that castle set with my kids back in the late 80s. Today I spend time with all those horses and castle parts and my grandson in front of the fire!
Sweet!
Ivan Rebroff was a fantastic singer. He could sing extreme bass to a soprano range. Saw him in concert once and he was very entertaining. He stood about 6’5”. My mom really liked him.
The Audible sponsorship was a surprise. I've got a few audiobooks on there that I recorded but my voice acting career fizzled out.
I think there was a big move to AI?
As for the membership angle. I was able to choose 2 books to keep permanently during the trial.
It makes sense to choose a 50 hour long book.
I chose The Stand and Shogun.
Wow. All the legos and all that jewelry that keeps a long time too to get it taken care of and processed. Good on you
I think it's awesome how you think of your wife so much. And how you take care of your kids you are a good example
My gosh I seriously cracked up watching you play with E T.
Alex don’t ever change. I love your young spirit & humor 💕 from Wisconsin Can’t forget ET 😂
I just love watching your videos! Thank you so much for sharing your life & family with all of us!!!
Thank you for the videos and stay warm and safe travels while playing in the snow ❄ 😀
I had the Barbie Camper as a child, and still have it today! I hope your wife likes the necklace!
I think you’ve found your moonlighting job - puppetry! 😆 So fun to see the Barbie camper, I had one as a young kid. Reminds me of many fun camping trips my family took. My mom would scope out the right size camping spot for our family as well as for me to set up camp for my Barbie camper and favorite toys! The camper came with some neat accessories including a plastic camp fire.
Holy cow, Quick draw Mcgraw and Bubba Louis. Can't believe I'm old enough to remember that. Think I had that same set.
Quick Draw's sidekick was Baba Louie. His name was a take-off of the popular Hispanic "Babaloo" music of the day. Desi Arnaz had a big hit with it.
I loved watching those cartoons when I was a child!
And yes, it's shocking to think how long ago that was!
@@bonnielucas1941 Probably wouldn't be aired today, due to Baba Louie's stereotypical accent. Same thing happened with Speedy Gonzalez.
One thing I've learned as a reseller is sometimes you just have to keep a few cool things for yourself, you cant sell everything.
I am new to your vlog. I am really enjoying trying to catch up a couple of years. I enjoy listening to your voice! You could be a radio host except for the fact that you have a face for cinema, lol. BTW you have a wonderful family!
Yes, I agree. And, I thought to myself that Alex could be one of the people reading the books when he was talking about audiobooks,
Welcome! If you haven't watched the Potter's house series, don't miss it! It's my favorite! So many surprises made it really fun.
@@bonnielucas1941 The potter house was the first series I watched. It has got me hooked!
Thanks Barry!
welcome to the vlog. everyone is wonderful here
How sweet, bringing your wife treats
Kind of made me chuckle when you said the miner's lamp is not that old.. from the 30s or 40s. In about 8 years that lamp could be 100 years old. We are getting old 🥴😩😄 I'm an early 70's baby too and it's awesome that our spirits are still young at heart. I was lol when you were playing with ET. That was hilarious! Thanks for the laugh!
You can listen to your Audible while preparing your Hello Fresh meal!
Wasn’t having the best day today then clicked on your video and saw the boxing ET and could not stop laughing!!! 🤣😂 Thank you. You’re an angel. 😇🥰❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a fun video - and so sweet that you bring home items for Melissa too. ❤️
I had that Barbie camping set as a child. I had so many memories playing with it.
I love audiobooks too. Great way to multi task when I'm working around the house, sorting at the thrift store or driving. Fun to see the Archies which I lived as a girl. We had Archie music from the back of cereal boxes even!
My dream has always been to find one of them Barbie Country campers new in box. When I was 11, ( now 61) that was my Christmas wish to get that camper, but mom said that Santa ran out of them. Well on Christmas morning to my surprise I unwrapped one and was so thrilled I cried. I see some online but they are usually all beat up or have broken pieces. I am like you Alex, just a kid in an adult body, bit older of course, lol.
Josh loves Archie comic books. He collects them!
Thanks for the awesome episode Alex, always a pleasure to watch.
I love the old Barbie things, in mint condition! Wow, what a find! When I was a kids, I was a Barbie fanatic!😊❤️🙏🏻
My Mom loved the Mills Brothers! Saw the album. They sang “Standing on the Corner, Watching all the Girls Go By” .
I spotted the Mills Bros, too! “Glow-worm” and “Across the Alley From the Alamo” and “You Always Hurt the One You Love” were favorites of mine. Not a fan of “Paper Doll”, though. Standing on the Corner was one my dad liked to sing when I was really small. I loved old records!
Their harmony was smooth as silk. Remember Cab Driver and Be My Life's Companion?
So cool seeing my childhood toys! Thanks, Alex!
One of my favorite memories is walking downtown to the Rexall Drug Store and buying some comic books to take home, Archie and Veronica and all were favorites, wish I would have saved some! Loved this video.
Alex, when you are giggling with that boxing ET, you are just a kid again- pure joy- I think that’s what attracts some collectors to vintage toys - being transported back to moments of innocence and joy in childhood. AND...you crack me up! 😂
I love it when Alex’s inner child comes out! ❤️
You're just a big ol' kid, aren't you Alex? I laughed so much watching you play with the ET puppet. You should bundle him with the Ali-Frazier poster you're auctioning. After all, they're all boxers.
A couple of really fun (and hopefully profitable) outings! You have a great eye for fun.
You've acquired some real collectables appropriate to the Christmas season. Good to see you demonstrating (playing) with some of the merchandise. Stay well.
I used to have that Lego castle set when I was a kid... its was second hand at the time from my uncle. So cool, seeing the older lego sets.
I love listening to audible books.
LOVE the Country Camper. I had that.
I saw the Pioneer turntable- I have that still from 1970''s. Curious what they would sell for. Even have the piece for the 45's.
Congrats on the first commercial I've ever seen on your channel. Yhe knockoff Chipmunks album is VERY sought after by the Dr. Demento Facebook group. There are several collectors of that style of LP.
I remember Dr. Demento. Didn't know he was still around. I have a few of his best comedy LPs.
Few great things and what fun memories they have. Really hoping for a clean out series for the holidays love seeing all the treasures.
I love the Quick Draw McGraw cap gun set new in package. What a cool find! That mini diarama of the billiards table was also really nice. I think the piece I like best is Barbie's Country Camper. My sister had that camper when we were kids in the 70s, and yes, we sure played with it! Tfs.
I just loved seeing all of the vintage items you were able to find!! And as always, excellent episode Alexander 🙂
Et had me laughing soooooo much thank you
I love your channel Alex. I especially admire your happy spirit & childlike excitement. Never lose this my friend. Much love to you and your family🙏
You gotta keep ET!! That is so funny! Give everyone a little punch with it when they come in. lol
I always wanted one of those Barbie campers when I was little. I love the necklace.
You had so much FUN!! Good to hear you laugh. LOVE audio books! Although we were not allowed to read comic books, as a 1950s kid; we had a neighbor who had loads of early Archie and other comic books. They allowed the neighborhood kids to dig into their boxes of old comic books and sit inside their gazebo and spend the whole afternoon reading those books!
What are the odds that you have both Barbie campers that my sister and I had as kids in the 70's. I remember playing at the cottage with them under the open stairs...what fun!
cool Christmas records and boxing ET. Is that the next Rocky movie Rock Vs ET?Thumbs up! Trish
That little play time with E.T. was so funny!
Oh my gosh, I used to have that Barbie camping set!
I love “The Vinyl Cafe” too.
Love your infectious enthusiasm! It makes for great viewing 😊
Alex, you really brought back some wonderful childhood memories. My favorites were the Archie & Richie Rich comic books.
I've replayed the impromptu 'ET boxing match' so many times, laughing out loud each time 😂 It doesn't get old. Reminiscent of Tom Hanks in 'Big', enjoying toys in its purest form. Thank you for bringing joy to so many with your daily antics!
The boxing ET was great! I had that camper! I think I got it for Christmas in 1974 or 75. I also had the airplane! All the clothes were made by my mother and my grandmother. I now have the patterns!
When I was a teenager, my Dad took me to see Ivan Rebroff in Toronto. Ah, memories!
The Mills Brothers!! The best!!
Wow, some neat items, even some hot wheels!
oh my goodness, I have that same necklace, the daisy ball and I had the Barbie's country camper as a child. Hope you're doing well, Jane, Sydney Australia.
Wow! I had that same Barbie Country Camper. I have such great memories of playing with that! Awesome to see it!
Speaking of Elvis Christmas records, raise your hand if you'd like to hear Alex sing "Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me". That awesome voice of his would be perfect for it.
I started laughing when you brought your new friend out. Thanks.
Super duper video. Great buys. Love that E.T. Thanks for sharing Your Adventures Brother 😀 👍 ♥️ 🇨🇦 🎉 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉💯💯💯💯
auction the turntables, you'd be surprise at the value, especially at auction. There are 3 kinds, idler wheel, belt and direct drive .
If the electronics are working correctly, the direct drive with it's heavier platter is much smoother operating and the preferred unit for serious vinyl users. The belt drive works well as long as the belt isn't stretched and really is preferable to the idler wheel drive because the idlers tend to get flat spots on them (thump, thump, thump sound). I have a Pioneer belt drive in my system (along with a direct drive Technics) and it does sound quite good, very smooth and quiet. Outside of the flat spotting, the biggest problem with the idlers is their tendency to get really hard which stops them from working or getting any kind of lubricant on them that causes them to stall. Even the famous early version Garrard Zero 100 was idler driven so there were some really good quality turntable/changers out there. The most often seen was the BSR brand which was a cheap British made unit put into everything from kiddie toys to home stereos. I presently have two medium range BSR's that are a real headache to restore because their mechanisms are just glued nearly solid with old lubricant, a big problem with the older changers of nearly all brands. I don't think I'll be doing any more of these. Not worth the effort, time and money for such cheap machines.
You really are a kid at heart
Glad to see you looking chipper & happy! Thats the Come At Me, Bro ET model lol. He can help you deal with customers who want to fool around & find out ha ha!
I loved the ET boxer. I was laughing at the playing him. You are a Funny man Alex. Your Family is so Beautiful.
I recognised a few of those Betty & Veronica comics as issues I had myself, brings back memories.
Omg. I had the Barbie tent trailer and dune buggy. Also the motor home. My friends and I played with them soooo much.
So many great memories.
And the comics in a box!
Each time i watch you great channel I see the separating headliner in your new truck...OCD has caused me to bring this to you for help in fixing it. lol
LOL Playing with your Lego pretty fun job you have.
Fun unboxing day . . . Plus
E.T. really has moves, thanks to you. Love 💘 the castle with princess and knight on horse. Take care, see you later.
I had that jeep tent camper set when I was a kid. I think the dune buggy is still at my mom's... with only 3 wheels. haha
Loved Vinyl Café. We used to listen to the show every Sunday after church.
I quite often listen to audiobooks when I'm painting (artwork) - I particularly like listening to anything read by Stephen Fry.
I had that same Barbie car!!
ET.... hilarious 😂
If I didn't live halfway around the world I'd have bought that Ivan Rebroff Christmas record. He had such a great voice.
I had the Barbie Camper and Beach Buggy set! I had the Barbie Corvette Car that was red! Brought back memories
What a nice little haul..both days
That ET was hilarious Alex. I giggled lots.
I remember once when I was in my twenties, my mother met one of my grade school teachers at some PTA event and my mom mentioned how many school teachers wore costume jewelry from the local dime stores. The teacher said that they wore the jewelry because their students bought them and gave them as Christmas gifts. She said that when they wore them, the children noticed and felt really good. I wonder. Are children are still buying cheap jewelry and perfume for their teachers at Christmas, and do the teachers still wear them?
We get all sorts of things , I got pants one year :)
Cheap jewelry and cheap perfume - they were inundated with Evening in Paris from the dime store! One year my mother was the “room mother” and she took pity on our teacher by organizing a collection and pooling of funds and buying her a beautiful white blouse with a lace edged jabot at the neck. Nobody paid much, if anything, more than they would have and the teacher got a wonderful gift. She cried when she opened it and wore it once a week for the rest of the school year.
