    Daimler needs to move the cab air springs from inside to outside the frame rails, on both the Freightliner and Western Star trucks.

    We had an entire company change over from there Petes and Kenworth's for the 5700's. The owner of the company said the fuel eco was so much better is was basically buy 2 trucks and get one free. They had 18 2016-2018 Pete's and Kenworth's and traded them in. The new 57X will be even better. Everyone that is saying "its just a Cascadia" Yes, you are welcome that it shares a lot of parts with the current freightliners, do you know what that means? Your dealership will have more parts in stock when you need them because they don't need to keep 7 different versions of modules because these ones are all the same. Instead of bitching you should be thanking the engineers.

    Your around Detroit mpg in traffic is good to know. I like the traffic control feature. You need side and rear cameras because of so many distracted drivers & criminals trying to hit you for a payday. Is there an option for We'd like info on out on the hwy mpg at different speeds, ie. 65, 70, 75 & 80 if your state has 80mph. It should be great based on your around Detroit trip. Thanks for the video.

    I PRACTICE TRUCK DRIVING WITH AMERICAN TRUCK SIMULATOR, I DRIVE A WESTERN STAR 57X DAYCAB AND I GET 13 MPG CITY AND 16 MPG HIGHWAY I MUST SAY WESTERN STAR IS A VERY FUEL EFFICIENT TRUCK. THE WESTERN STAR TRUCK BRAND ACTS LIKE A CAMEL ON EIGHTEEN WHEELS.

    I love most of these features ,however I have never liked having so many controls on the steering wheel. You should never be fiddling with your dash display while you are driving! I don’t like the Digital Touch screen dash, I much prefer the analog option.

    Its just a freightliner now. They are saying all of this but i bet the only reason they changed it is to use the freightliner molding.

    No more 82” sleeper I guess everybody will be switching to the 80 inch Peterbilt now

    • @mikeha
      @mikeha Год назад

      yes because they're going around retroactively changing the 82" to 72" in people's existing trucks right?

      Yeah, well it looks like freightliner is just "rebadging and rehooding" freightliner Cascadias and they are 72 inch sleeper cabs.

      I do agree I wish I would’ve did more to make it look a lot different than the freightliner Cascadia it’s like the current GMC and Chevy pick ups even though they’re the same vehicle basically but GM has done a lot to make them look a lot different from each other

      @josefbarada1053 try a manual, You get 7 to 7.5 if you're 80,000 all the time, and you will get 6.5 to 7. 0 that is in a detroit over mountains.

    Nope not interested. That mpg won’t sell me a curb-sniffer. The company that I drive for has those trucks as well but I as an owner/operator own a 07 379 Peterbilt with a 95 Detroit 60 series 430 hp and I get up to 8.5 mpg and I get to drive in style with quality to show for. My opinion

    Only 2 issues. 1 I don't like that the mirrors or on the door . And 2 only in automatic. Needs to come with a 13 speed even of its a option. I cant stand automatics

      Why burn money by using and old, inefficnent manual?

    • @atruckerslife6054
      @atruckerslife6054 Год назад

      @honda900000 have you ever drove a manual? I have and I have got just as good mpg with a 13 as I can get with a automatic. I don't like the automatic because they shift when you don't need it to and don't shift when you need it to. And you have more control of the truck with a manual. If you have been in a manual you would know that

    • @honda900000
      @honda900000 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@atruckerslife6054 Thats the funny thing. In Europe most cars were manual, most trucks are automatic. In North America there is the exact opposite. The Cascadias and 57x are full with Mercedes technology from Europe. The complete digital dash, the drivetrain, the engines. Its all Mercedes Actros technology. Automatic drivertrains are common in Europe for more then 20 years. And it works.
      I have driven a few manuals... Not for long. And hate it. For me its technology of the past. Why using a smartphone when you can use a telephone box?
      Of course i understand the arugment about more control of a manual but for driver comfort on full highways... i can live with an automatic which choose the wrong gear from time to time. Its by far more comfortable any day. Even if a lot of truckers think that automatic is not for "real" truckers. Maybe the automatic will not last 2 million miles. Okay. But i will not drive such an old truck. Every industry need to improve things. Take a look what John Deere did over the last 20 years...
      Why are oldschool people not open minded to something new? i dont unterstand that.

      @honda900000 look I respect your reply. But its just here in America. Most of us like a stick truck. For one you have to Actually learn a skill.. back in the day you had to learn how or you couldn't drive a truck. I see too many people here that should not have a cdl its too easy to drive a automatic transmission truck. You don't really need any skill. The automatic trucks have no power for climbing hills and they don't know when to down shift or up shift. The dang truck waits until you are half way up the hill or mountain before it will do anything. I learned from my dad and uncles how to drive a truck in 13 and a 18 speed.. and when it comes to slowing down I don't have to use my brakes until I'm ready to come to a stop. Just by down shifting. You also fell more connected to the truck. You don't get that in a automatic. Sorry but will never like a automatic truck. But maybe it works for you all im saying is here it should be that should keep the manual transmission and not have just automatic trucks.

    I don’t know when these moronic truck manufacturers understand that a human having to live in the truck would appreciate more room. Screw the 1,000 lb savings. Should’ve kept it at 82”. Look at how popular the W900’s are with the 86” studio-sleepers. They care as much as the company’s that order them do.
