    How sticky are wet tyres compared to dry?
    Is the setup on a wet bike same as a dry, just the tyres are different, or it's a totally different setup?
    You did t need to dumb this down. Everyone knows slicks aren't for wet tracks, and vice versa. So many things you missed out to say. Simon Crafwr should do this.

    • @giodc8599
      @giodc8599 Год назад +3

      Wet tyres are sticky but, like Brad said, you want them cool. First of all the compound is VERY soft. Any heat will destroy the tyres very quickly. Heat also comes from the tyres themselves, the grooves make the tyre really wobbly and there is a lot of movement in the actual tread, resulting in, again, heat and generally a less direct feeling.
      Also, suspension needs to be softened a fair bit. All your inputs are softer, both in braking and acceleration and if your suspension is setup for dry you will never get any work done, or at least much less.

    • @garrycoates2147
      @garrycoates2147 Год назад

      Wet tyres are usually softer compounds. The bike normally has softer suspension to work with the tyres. In full wet conditions the race times are usually 10+ seconds slower because there is less grip. Wets can get stickier but usually means they are on the way to overheating from a drying track . Once they seriously overheat the become like chewing gum. Watch Marco Melandri win a wet race at Philip Island with the bike sideways and him waving at the crowd.

    I personally think bike swaps is a great twist to MotoGP.
    Plus it's riders safety, if rider feels great as is fine take a gamble.
