  • Now that you know how to build it your gonna need to install it. This is an in depth guide for how to install it into a version 2 gearbox. Different gearboxes will be different in the details but the general method is the same.

      ExplosiveReview wow since you do reply i would like to ask you a question. i got a Dboy metal gear box in my gun with no mosfet. Will it go wrong if i use 9.9v lifepo battary or it could last at least one year and a half for me? or you just suggest to installa a mosfet? sorry for bother you

      Only install a mosfet if you use lipo batteries. You won't see any real benefit with the old style batteries nor do do you even raely need one. This design seems to work well with 7.4 - 11.1 lipos.

    Is there a training program for gun techs like you guys or does it come from experience? The only thing i think i'm qualified to do is to swap out a spring (from a quick-change spring system) and swap out an inner barrel lol.

    How do you know what wire to use for an upgraded motor? No matter what I do, I can't find any specs on the motor I ordered such as the Voltage, so I'm dead in the water on this.
    If it's not obvious, no, I have no idea what I'm doing so this could be an expensive venture.

    Hi, where to connect the mag positive & negative wire to the trigger switch?

    Great video! One question I have is how does it stop the arc on the trigger switch?

    • @ExplosiveReview
      @ExplosiveReview  9 лет назад +2

      A mosfet is basically a electronically controlled switch. It uses a lower voltage passed through the trigger contact in order to turn on a larger voltage directly to the motor. This lower voltage means no arcing.

      Ok, that makes sense now. Thanks for clearing that up.

    It should be a crime for manufacturers to produce AEG's without a quick change spring & at least a basic mosfet.

    PLEASE HELP ME!!
    i have a few questions about Mosfets;
    will it be okay to remove the fuse if i install a mosfet?
    is it possible to use a "plug and play" mosfet so that i can replace the "single" fire mode with a 3 round burst so that i have (safe/three round/auto) fire selection.
    and if i swap out the Timia connectors for deans, install a mosfet, and remove the fuse, what kind of ROF improvement would i see?

    • @Jvha761
      @Jvha761 7 лет назад

      eli dennison 1. It depends what mosfet do you get, some mosfets has a fuse in them already and some doesn't.
      2. Plug & Play mosfets aren't that great. You can get GATE's mosfets cheaper than those plug & play.
      3. Almost all mosfets excluding plug & play mosfets comes with deans so you have to get deans.

    What's the proper name to look on eBay for the motor connectors?

      On McMaster-Carr, they're referred to as "Quick-Disconnect Terminals". The type you want are: Female, uninsulated, wire gauge 16-14, and size 0.110". (www.mcmaster.com/#69525k14/=1ds0foo)
      I found these on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/100-Non-Insulated-Quick-Disconnect-QD-Female-Terminal-16-14-Wire-AWG-110-MOLEX/361179195526

    Hey man, so I've recently install a gate nanohard mosfet. It works great but every time I'm holding the trigger for 5-10 sec the gun just stop shooting. My question is how come? It's a high speed build.

    • @alexha9828
      @alexha9828 8 лет назад

      Your gun might be bad buildt, the mosfet has a battery/short circut protection. It protects from short circut the gun so the mosfet automatically stops when it gets too overloaded! Sorry for my bad english, I am from Sweden!
      I have the same mosfet btw

    While I do appreciate the video and the good information. I can't help but say that the video would be much more helpful if you actually gave close up shots of the soldering process rather than keep it in a wide angle the whole time.

    With this mosfet is still necessary the anti-reversal?

    • @Jvha761
      @Jvha761 7 лет назад

      〈SlabTHEkiller〉 Some mosfets doesn't need anti reversal latch but its safe to keep it in there :)
