Ash, the one that edited concrete is part of the band, he's the one with brown hair and glasses, he also does monthly vlog with the same editing vibe they're really cool to watch
Fun facts: Will's stated that he always does an acoustic version first then tries to make it sound more 'produced' (if that makes sense). It's the reason his song Soft Boy got scrapped. He couldn't figure out what was missing. He said it sounded good but not right (though I've heard he's thinking of redoing the song). Also, Taunt apparently was shot in one take then cut up to show the band members in their different positions because George only broke and smiled like once and it was small.
Was waiting for this comment! Maybe I was boring Its all futile its all pointless was better though, they overdid the original sad vibe it had, then again I can say I love them close to equally.

The thing that I love about Lovejoy is the instrumentals, I can hear everything, not one instrument drowns out the other nor does the vocals drown anything out and vice versa. I love being able to hear the drums, trumpets, etc.
Yess!!! It's not just well made and well written but we'll produced as well. For a band that's just starting out, their music and videos are already so refined
i kid you not for the first month after it was released, pebble brain was the only thing i listened to so i could memorize all of the songs but also just cos they're all absolute bangers haha
Take note! "It's all pointless! It's all futile!" by Lovejoy is just a remake of Wilbur's previous release from his EP "Maybe Be I Was Boring". It's more raw and stripped down. I really like both tho, but lovejoy just made it so chorusy or smthn in a way. I love that he remade it. ❤️
Yeah, I love when he was talking bout the lyrics, cuz that was Wilbur of like 2019 lmao. Though I do prefer the original, the Lovejoy version is still a bop!
"It's all futile, it's all pointless" is actually a band cover of a song of the same name from Wilbur's solo EP "Maybe I Was Boring" that he released quite a while ago.
I feel like probably about 90% of the comments here have already mentioned it, but I think it's really discrediting to call Lovejoy 'Wilbur Soot's' band. They are four individual musicians with amazing talent, and people should stop focusing on one person instead of the band as a whole. Edit: Pls stop commenting 'but Wilbur says it's his band' or 'Wilbur is the lead singer, which makes him the most important person in the band'. I commented the statement above to just make some people aware that Lovejoy is a band, made up of four equal members, and it's not Wilbur Soot + Ensemble. You can oc still say 'Wilbur's band' as it is the band HE IS ACTIVE IN, but some people just see Wilbur Soot, the artist, and Lovejoy, the band, as one and the same thing and don't acknowledge Ash, Joe or Mark.
you're totally right, i definitely appreciate all of them and they're all amazing, but wilbur soot is the most famous out of all of them which brings more clicks and more views and also joel is not familiar with the band, so i see why he kept focusing on wilbur
the fact that Joel pays attention to the same things that i love about their music like lyrics and the energy and the trumpets that made me fall in love with the first ep, love it
I looked back at your other video about Wilbur; he has improved significantly in my opinion. I prefer the band sound in this video to the more indie songs before.

I'm glad that even though lovejoy is a band with a popular streamer didn't change what roomie thought about their music and I feel like he gave his genuine opinion on it unlike people who hear that wilbur soot/a popular streamer is in the band and instantly decide not to like it or try picking apart every small thing that they don't like

I am just over the moon when reading this comment! Bastille is my favorite band as well and have also thought how cool it would be if Joel would look into their lyrics and meanings 😍😍
@@sinaseal Especially since they've got a new album coming out next month! Though honestly I'm a little nervous about it though, because the one thing I disliked about Doom Days (the song) is the whole boomer 'phone bad!' attitude I got from it, though I did love the line "rabbit hole down third act love" Yeah. But the new album sounds scarily like they're doubling down on that whole 'TeChNoLoGy BaAaAaAD' theme, friggin Kilroy Was Here style. You know seeing Wilber soot's music is opened and crazy, but when it gets to the next song. All you see is Goggy sitting their with his arms crossed through out the entire song. 😂
Interestingly enough, It’s all futile it’s all pointless was written quite a while ago by Wilbur as a solo song and it was made more upbeat and re-released by Lovejoy
Like someone on another video said, wilbur isn't a gamer that started making music, he's a musician that got popular through and is known for his gaming content
As a teenager in the 00's this definitely brought back some nostalgia for me, so much so that I quickly scanned through my online hard drive, which has all my old music from 10+ years ago on it, and picked out some bands to share for anyone interested in similar sounding music... finally you are listening to them! Also, highly recommend listening to more of their stuff, especially Pebble Brain. they have so many different styles in their music.
I'm always a little skeptical about social media people making music (and let's be real, there's some seriously bad stuff out there), so I went into this with a negative mindset. It has a really chill vibe to it for me that I really like. I can't figure out what it reminds me of a little, but it's just nice to listen to. Will definitely give them another listen. You know seeing Wilber soot's music is opened and crazy, but when it gets to the next song. All you see is Goggy sitting their with his arms crossed through out the entire song. 😂
Well I guess I'm gonna be spending the next few weeks listening to them nonstop 🤷🏽♀️
Hell yea B)
woo!!
Interestingly enough, It’s all futile it’s all pointless was written quite a while ago by Wilbur as a solo song and it was made more upbeat and re-released by Lovejoy
As a person of the dsmp fandom, i am so glad you decided to review Lovejoy's music :,DD
roomie: reviews lovejoy
me: oh i wonder what's he's opinion on the fall or oh yeah you'r gonna cry?
also roomie: skips theme
me: *cries in anger*
I'm really happy that roomie finally made a vid on Lovejoy but I really wish he would have also reacted to knee deep at ATP
@@silvanas.w8502 oh yeah true but 3 months ago I didn't know it was a cover lmao I only knew like some days after
Thanks for this! I would probably never have heard of this band if it wasn't for this channel. I loved this music and the overall vibe!
I realy like lovejoy and the fact that you liked some songs makes me very happy.
Edit: plz make an ather vid reacting to more songs like s cells.
"A voice shouldn't be perfect, a voice should be perfectly suited for the message it is trying to deliver."
From Simping to Break-up music, Wilbur stepping up his music game
Like someone on another video said, wilbur isn't a gamer that started making music, he's a musician that got popular through and is known for his gaming content
This is the best birthday gift I've gotten today thank roomie :D
been waiting for this one! :DD
Yasssssssss!!!!! I’ve been waiting for this forever!!!!
As a teenager in the 00's this definitely brought back some nostalgia for me, so much so that I quickly scanned through my online hard drive, which has all my old music from 10+ years ago on it, and picked out some bands to share for anyone interested in similar sounding music... Enjoy;
Little comets
MGMT
One Night Only
Robots In Disguise
The Courteeners
The Drums
Vampire Weekend
White Lies
Lonsdale Boys Club
Friendly Fires
Dexters
I Dream In Colour
Delays
The Kooks
The Futureheads
will definitely listen 👍
YES FINALLY LOVEJOY TIME
I can’t wait dude
finally you are listening to them!
Also, highly recommend listening to more of their stuff, especially Pebble Brain. they have so many different styles in their music.
You won't make me a pie!??? That's ok I'll just bake one for the hype house myself. 🍏🥧🍎
Edit: Maybe a bit the band Pet Lions in some ways
Everytime you upload a new video you make my day. I'm so happy to be your subscriber. You're amazing Joel and I love your content!! ❤️❤️❤️
The censoring of some lyrics just made me laugh , cuz it sounds sooo funny when a censor just swooshes in whenever you're not expecting it XDDD
Also , Joel. Joe is not a second singer , but he's a backvocal , just to let you know :)
I'm so happy you made this video as a big fan of Love joy
we now need a sequel to this video he needs to see how much they've grown and shaped their style
I'd say also listen and maybe react to the other songs that don't have their own music videos yet, because all of them are so good!
Gotta do a part 2 with some of Lovejoy's songs that don't have MVs. "The Fall" and "Perfume" are such amazing songs and I'm sure a lot of us would love to see you react to them
NOAHFINNCE Worms(in my brain) just came out and I think you should review his music.
imagine the looks of people on the street seeing these fellas doing stuff on the street with a green screen
