Fifteen years ago we indulged at the restaurant "next door" for our 10th wedding anniversary. Mr. Robuchon himself (RIP) was in the kitchen that night (rare occasion). My husband purchased his cookbook ahead of time because he knew he would be there. We asked our waiter if Mr. Robuchon would autograph our book... well... not only did he autograph it, but he came out of the kitchen to meet us and chat with us. OMG!!! We were so honored and shocked. I will never forget that... oh and the food and experience of it all was beyond exceptional !!! Worth every penny!!!
That is super cool! What a special memory ❤️
As a former fine dining chef 👩🍳, I can tell you that you where correct , they forgot too put in the goats cheese 🧀 Ravioli, my claim to fame I once worked with Gordon Ramsay at his first Michelin Restaurant “ Aubergine” in Park walk , Fulham , London , so I guess I should know , and yes Gordon Screamed and Shouted even then , but when Dinner service was over he was as nice as American 🇺🇸 Pie 🥧
And as an after thought , your right the cocktails list should match the food , no excuses Joel get your rock on and upscale the cocktails, dam I could listen too this guy talk all week , the best presenter of Cool 😎 since Steve Wynn , if you’ve watched his presentations you’ll know what I mean .
I’m not a fan of French cuisine generally, but I have to say, the presentation on each of these dishes was amazing. Thank you for sharing!
James, this looks like an incredible experience, especially Le Especial. So many amazing culinary experiences available in LV, thank you for sharing, we live vicariously through you.
I can’t wait to get to Vegas to recreate some of your experiences. Trying to decide which ones. :)
Nice meal! These are really a works of art, like a Beethoven string quartet, except you enjoy it with sight, smell, and taste. Yes L'atelier is the kitchen for Joël Robuchon next door. You probably saw their executive chef running orders in the kitchen. I think it's also its experimental restaurant. I've seen a dishes I had at L'atelier later show up in the main restaurant. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I think that stereotype of Michelin star and higher end restaurant is so not true anymore. I've been to quite a few (including both of Joel's places in Vegas) Trust me when I say they are not stuffy or pretentious. Just the opposite, super friendly and accommodating. As far as portions go most every tasting menu I've done I've been stuffed like too much on more than several occasions.
They explain each course and will gladly answer any and questions you have about the dish.
The quail dish is fantastic! The potatoes are heavenly. Foie gras for the win.
Nice to see a review on this place it's one of my favorites in Vegas! So glad you enjoyed great video!
To me this is where you get value for money, as opposed to those silly drinks that you were getting in the LinQ video. This place is now on my list for a future trip.
Great video! Thank you for sharing!
Wow as it did during the experience video looks amazing, I was just talking with my wife and step-son last night about our next trip and one definate place we will go to eat is Xpot , thanks to your Palazzo video
This is THE restaurant to eat at
Dude real nice for sure!
Oooooh great review, we will be making reservations for sure! Thanks!
Great vid. Great restaurant. L’atelier literally means workroom. So that explains the open kitchen concept.
WoW looks amazing proper place to dine ....Great content yet again ....Top video Top man👌👍
Thx JC 🤝
I wish more youtubers would do fine dining Vegas videos. cuz some people go to Vegas and want to spend some $$$ to do a once in a lifetime maybe dining experience? So thank you!
Love it
Started following you about 2 months ago and we took some of your tips we just stayed at the ELARA 7\10 to14\22 Also visited the cosmopolitan and had the famous drink it was awesome what do you think of Gordon Ramsay's steak we had dinner for 2 + 6 cocktails check came out to 500$ and change with tip love the video series 😀
Thanks James. Great video as always. I'll give you a small tip. Most french words finish with a 'e'. Just don't pronounce that last 'e'.😃
Buzzing to eat here on my first trip to Vegas this November! Great video, as per usual.
I've been looking forward to this video and it didn't disappoint. That looks like a fantastic meal. And the price doesn't seem that bad to me.
I love fine dining, give me all the stuff I don't know how to pronounce and I don't know what it is (I usually wait until after I've taken a bite to look them up,). Give me the wine pairings for each course. It's so exciting to me. I don't mind the smaller portions, gives me the opportunity to try more things on the menu. One thing I can do without when it comes to fine dining is the pretentiousness that can come with the territory. Don't need any of that BS.
When I head to Vegas in September, I think I'll be making reservations at L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon. The more formal Joël Robuchon is on my Vegas Bucket List, one day I'll get there and partake in their "Menu Dégustation," which I believe is something like 15 courses.
Oh, and regarding your 2017 Chambolle-Musigny, - Chambolle Musigny is in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy and that region is known for producing more tannic and powerful Pinot Noir; so, it's not surprising it started out bold and needed a little time to breathe.
JP with the amazing insight 💫
I want some that😋😋😋😋😋 want order
Fancy shmancy. I love it!
Most Food from here are exquisite First class service.
I went there once I think in 2012; I remember I had their foie gras , outstanding place.
Foie gras 💥
great video, I'm surprised you were able to finish all of that.
Fantastic Review. ✨✨
I have eaten at the same restaurant in Paris a few times and always super.
I just adore quail! Foie gras pronunciation = Fwah Grah
I love your reviews because they are honest and to the point.
Question.
At what point do things simply become pretentious nouvelle cuisine ?
I don't want to spend $300 and leave hungry. Am I wrong ?
if you order the 10-course tasting menu, you're not going to leave hungry.
Thanks for the video. I am a big guy that doesn't like small food. Just a little too fancy smancy for me. I am more of a Golden Steer Oscar's Steakhouse type guy.
Was just in Vegas this past weekend have you ever tried Galpao Gaucho.???
I haven't been there! Brazilian steakhouses and I have a love/hate relationship
I am waiting on 3 chicken breasts in the oven while watching ur vids the 700 dinner was great looking forward to this
Going to Vegas in September. Planning on doing one “splurge” meal. What would you choose between this or Bavette’s? I know that’s one of your faves lol!
This for sure - I'd absolutely go to bazaar before bavettes
Hi James love your videos, started watching you when you was doing Miami vlogs, British guy here and going to Miami for the first time in September, any tips on places to dine or drink with my wife? Would love to hear your opinion.
At that time I think I only had a few hundred subscribers... I remember you - it's been a long time since you've commented. What's up?
tea room (East) and bazaar (sls) are mandatory. Kosushi is my absolute favorite Japanese sushi place in south beach. Komodo is cool (it's like tao) and sexy fish Is brand new but I haven't been there yet. And there's Papi steak and swan if you want trendy dinner/drinks.
@@Coolist all good over here thanks, yeah followed you for about 2 years now, I think your videos are great and classy.
Thanks for all the tips, if you happen to be in the Miami area the 2nd week of September then I'm staying at The Faena, come in and ill buy you a drink 🍸
Also keep doing your videos they're very entertaining.
Fine dining makes me sick haha too rich and pretentious for me. But i did just visit Ramsay's Kitchen in Vegas a few days ago and was absolutely blown away. His Beef Wellington absolutely lives up the hype.
Dude you HAVE to go to chef Marc’s in the Ahern hotel. He’s from my hometown and is one of the best chefs I’ve had the pleasure of tasting their food. You will not be disappointed!!
Ok 👍🏼
I appreciate when the Chef does something special, and it looks like that happened. The bread basket, Quail and potato's, Patties and fries would be my jam. However, I would not be able to eat all that food, even my list would be too much. Glad to hear you had a nice time. Is this your new favorite place?
It was an outstanding dinner, but it's not my favorite. Le cirque had better dishes and an overall experience
@@Coolist Thank you
After your stay at the Linq, did you ever mentioned how much they charged you for the room?
I did - "how much does it cost to stay at the linq Las Vegas". It's a recent video
@@Coolist I must have missed it. Thanks
@@Coolist Actually I saw that video but I don’t remember you mentioning how much does it cost, I will watch that again
👍👍👍❤❤❤
Looks great. Just not into the gold flake trend since it can be bought from Amazon for 15 dollars for many sheets.
This is awesome! I live in Vegas and every time I'd walk past these restaurants like a true peasant I was always curious about how the food looked, price wise, etc. Thank you. I have a better understanding on how the rich eat, lol.
Am surprised the prices not higher for this level of culinary artistry!
Likewise
Sushi bar design.
my issue is i keep trying to get a reservation at either and no luck :(
I had to move earth just to get that reservation for one
@@Coolist i cant believe i did it but i managed a reservation at Joel Robuchon checked randomly and there was one spot open i cant wait for this (for me) once in a lifetime meal.
Portions are tiny. Potato pureee should be twice the amount. Reason l don't eat out.
Do you know anything about Robuchon potatoes...🤡🤡🤡
Totally forgot to add the ravioli.
My dude, the next time im in vegas I'll try and get your attention. If your down, come to the Cosmo ill give u a run down on pronunciations, higher end ingredients etc...
The chef's name is correctly pronounced " Row boo shown"..
Hey man, love your videos. Can you remain on the shot of the actual food and cocktails you are describing and not immediately cut back to the shot of you talking about it? It feels like you cut out of the food and cocktail shots way too quickly and I find myself constantly rewinding and pausing to look at the food and drinks.
Rubochon is dead
He was also a gentleman
Most say he is top chef of past 50 yrs
He is known for mashed potatoes
Must have/had a great paying job
Uhmmm, where are my Ravioli's please??
Didn’t see gloves
Two different kitchens, I know that for a fact. Toured the other kitchen.
I hope the Chef's hands are cleaned. They are really touching the food. I hope they thoroughly wash their hands after they wipe.
If your spending this sort of money, comeon I don’t want to pay for a bottle of water. And at 10 dollars no way.
Well Taco Bell doesn't charge for water...
Joel is dead. both are owned by corporation and exploiting his name. You folks are the incredibly naive.
@@brymtb Chances are that all those originally trained by Robuchon have already moved on. The food may still takes good, but most likely have drifted from what was intended by him as each new generation of Executive Chefs, Chefs de Cuisine, Sous Chefs, Station Chefs, and Purchasing Managers are trained by the person they are replacing, and not by Joel Robuchon himself.
@@brymtb Okay, if you want to make shit up and die on this hill, please list the entire staff and their history. After all. you seem to know at least 99 percent of them through your very own clams. so it is very reasonable for me to ask for a complete list of names of the current staff and their arrival dates to their position. Go on. You claimed it, now own it. Name the entire staff and their history.
Seemed like a good day to feel superior?
