Armored Core VI is A new action game based on the concept of the ARMORED CORE series that uses the knowledge gained from FromSoftware's recent action game development. Hidetaka Miyazaki is my daddy. I love Elden Ring. Is Armored Core VI basically Elden ring but with mechs? CHECK OUT MY REVIEW

Happy HolidaySSS Sifu Ranton n friends 😃. I spread the wisdom of sifu Ranton! On of my buddy is depress n was going to go to the Shoalin Temple to be enlighten n i told him to go to Buhtan insted 😊.
Every time I watch a ranton video, I feel like I’ve absorbed 3 hrs worth of random Chinese man sound effects in the span of 10 minutes. Keep up the good work 👍
You don't just feel like it. You literally did😅
Honestly I put the video at .75x playback speed to understand what he’s saying.
“Feel like.” No sir, you have.
That how he burn so much calories 🔥 🔥
😂
Ranton getting sponsors now that's wild. As long as he keeps the same energy for his vids that's a big W
Exactly my thought
Who needs cooking when you can scroll the chinese tok
with the vpn ad from the past I think he went a bit overboard (not for us but for the sponsor) with "you wouldn't fuck a pig without a condom. or maybe you would, I don't judge. may allah strike you down". Memorable but if I was trying to sell a product I probably wouldn't want that line be associated with my stuff :D
Came for the Shaolin, stayed for the autism. You love to see it!
Surprisingly accurate to how I found him lol. It was his video on "For Honor Marching Fire" when he was looking at the shaolin characters. One of his more tame videos, then I found the autism and was hooked.
@@awesome_by_defaultayo same
i came and stayed for the autism, and shaolin was just a bonus.
I love acoustic people
Fuck I knew it was the same guy
I thought it was his autistic twin brother
when ranton is sweaty at the beginning you know its a banger
The fact we never see our human characters was pretty fresh tbh, the mechs are the starts and the voice actors give all the personality
fresh aka rarely done. but that doesnt mean it is good. i am losing count of who is who cause i associate names with faces. in other words, the story is less memorable because... there is no face to remember. and it feels like it was done due to budget constraint, cuz this is the easy route. just dont bother with human scenes lol.
like rn this lady called aryche is talking to me and i just have no idea who she is n where she came from n why/how we know each other but we do. and its all monologue, we dont even have a voice, and its all mission briefing, not much story or info about the actual people and the lore of the world
@@lillotusplays god forbid you ever have to read a book
S ranking missions and PvP is what makes you realise how input intensive this game is, as it more often than not, requires you to take advantage of every move and mechanic you have at your disposal. Reducing AC6 to "the gameplay is just hold button to fire and sometimes dodge" is exactly like describing Devil May Cry combat as "just keep mashing attacks while sometimes switching weapons".
I like to describe Armored Core 6 aggressive playstyle as "Mech Muay Thai" because you really gotta use every limb at once.
is it bad that I S rank DMC5 missions by doing exactly what you said?
Well yeah, you can definitely, but is so beautiful and much more efficient when you learn the combos, and how to mix and match the weapons, if you look up some DMC5 montages, you going to see not only how efficient it is to know the game, but BEAUTIFUL and Smokin' Sexy Style!!@@neonutopia6487
@@neonutopia6487 S ranking in DMC is nothing if you dont do it stylishly
@@lesslighter my style is big letter for up 😎👍🏾
I've never needed a face to connect to the characters in Ace Combat or the Armored Core series. Need for Speed Most Wanted had fmv showing peoples faces but most of the game was told by text and audio files. It just works.
the lack of human faces is intentional, honestly it works so well for the game
AC VI is the first game where I've gone fully into NG+ and finished it multiple times. Amazing game.
Can u address his criticisms tho? U dont see a single face and gameplay is all abt holding shoot while dodging?
@@lillotusplaysok, That does not matter. It is fun. The faces I don't care about because the voices have plenty of personality for me. The holding and shooting is true, but that is fun with the dodging.
Rusty is such a nice character, the fact that the community loves him just shows how much a character can be good with only a voice. many will disagree though, that's completely fine though.@@ragerblade82
Same here! Its very rewarding to go in to ng+/ng++. New missions, different endings, new arena missions and those coral weapons
@@lillotusplaysSo it's like dark souls with guns and no faces. Cope?
I think they did a fantastic job with the story. It's very simple, which is good for a game like this, but it never bored me. The voice actors do a fantastic job and the voices alone give the characters a lot of character.
agreed. I feel blessed to be able to engage with the story so well. I won't say adding faces to the voices won't improve the experience, but what's already there is already superb.
Although I think the singular most important factor here is me playing the game in only a few sittings, with sessions close to each other. Obviously if you play the game like, once a week, you're not gonna be nearly as engaged with the story unless you actively re-read or re-watch story bits of previous missions.
The voices, the music, UI noises. The sound design is masterful in itself
@@Sercotanii think it would make it worse. The characters become almost more interesting when you NEVER see them. And your own body doesn't even exist
If this man starts to hate on this game then i will be VERY
very what? i need to knwoo!?
@hello_kitty_is_my_religion they said
@@hello_kitty_is_my_religioni think its because
I do agree with the 7/10 rating. I like AC 6 quite a bit, but I don't recommend it to my friends because it is not a perfect experience. I enjoy the game because it is exactly what I was looking for in a mech action game. Also for me personally, the story is enhanced by the lack of human interaction because I feel like it would detract from what the game is really about, cool giant robots blowing shit up.
he did. now I am VERY
For the first 100 seconds, English was being spoken in every dialect known to man and then some. I understood everything. Like Ranton, I have brain damage too
Your mech card feature you described IS in the game, though! You just share the build code, others type it in, and can download it
I usually like story in video games, even in boring ones I at least try to understand what's going on. But this was the first game where after 10 minutes I started skipping every single dialogue and cutscene. I never really realized why I was doing this until you brought up the fact that there are no faces. Without it, I can't connect with any of the characters and it's what actually is making me skip every single dialogue. Even just a simple character picture would have made me want to see who they are, how they talk, and what they want. But with just raw text subtitles showing up, I couldn't care enough to pay attention lol. Very cool insight Ranton
Personally I don't mind the lack of faces. Our character might not even have a recognizable one since he gets taken out of a body bag in one of the trailers. The voice actors do a freaking good job conveying emotions.
But I agree that some of the missions that don't have boss fights are pretty easy once you get confortable with the controls and mechanics.
We need tougher mobs and mini bosses. Also the arena ranking doesn't really make sense. Some of the top fighters are not nearly as tough as you'd expect them like Freud.
And yeah putting your weapons UI element next to the moving target circle is not very good.
I hope they make a standalone expansion just like with the previous titles and adjust these things.
Lack of faces and humans only further elevates themes and atmosphere of AC VI. It humanizes these characters by giving them human voices not to make them seem human for its own sake. It does that to create even more distance, loneliness and alienation.
Having no humans is a design choice...in the whole series really
So? Doesn't really make his points invalid.
@@misevibre Actually it does, because his point is stupid. It's like saying that you can't connect to books because they are just words.
@@VerGiLL1 That analogy makes no sense.
@@misevibre Ranton LITERALLY says "It never shows a human face, It never shows a Human emotion, you never put a face to a name". Which is a lie btw. Even chappy (an AI) as you go trough the game multiple times will show hints of emotion.
@@VerGiLL1 even ALLMIND also an AI has "emotions" like "WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING AUGMENTED HUMAN C4-621?!" level of emotions which is funny
Ranton my man. Dehumanization is a huge theme in this franchise so showing faces would go directly against that, hurting the vision of the game. Also just imagine faces, its fun.
yeah I agree, you can easily imagine their faces according to their personality via their voices alone
One criticism I do agree is the UI. Wish we could change the color and add more elements like prior games, and add some settings that enlarge a few elements, in particular the ammo bar/count and cooling gauge.
Honestly the ammo bar and adjoining ui should have a fading effect when not in use.
Ranton, did you play the game through 3 times? Because the real character building and emotions start to come out in playthrough 2 and become insane in playthrough 3. And yes, more of the game gets unlocked, by a LOT.
I personally engaged with the story in any playthrough at all since I pay attention to the dialogue.
The phasing and dots can get confused sometimes when you lack the proper context, but I'm very much fine with the faceless exchange of dialogue and story. It make an interesting scenario and leave you with pseudo deceptive expectation that you can't read their ingenuity through facial expression but depict everything else through their voice deliver alone.
I'd say that those asked for a human representation or facial input to the story of these kinda games aren't that interested in the game's story under this style anyway. Being faceless and facing off with a bitter rivalry never feel so immerse and badass before, without all the face and feed, yet you can still feel the resolve, respect, sadness, happiness from them is a peak faceless story telling, You only need the tone and voice to convey those emotion.
Leaving more room for you to give those gasp, shock, smirk, smile, lips biting, tear flowing to roam free in your imagination is never a big deal for me. Sometimes I even clench my hand so tight to immerses with my very own emotion on how I feel toward certain choices or situation. Rather cringy but I really do enjoy an empty shell of self-insert-able character from time to times.
Yes got the real ending
@@RealRantonCongrats! Man 😁
@@RealRanton The fuck, what kind of speedrunning did you do?, i played for 40hrs+ and still havent even started my 3rd playthrough and that was without even attempting to S rank any mission
@@RealRanton Greetings Ranton. If you don´t mind me asking, where on youtube can i find the song you played in your review of Forspoken between 3:07 and 3:11? i´d really like to know because it sounds awesome!
I personally think the story is quite nice, with a few twists there and there, multiple awesome and heartbreaking moments. But the standout is the characters; even without faces, Walter, Ayre, Carla, Rusty, Michigan, Chatty, Pater, Iguazu, Snail and AllMind all were very memorable and interesting.
I loved the story, actually got attached to characters without seeing them as humans just off of voices.
Michigan and Rusty are the best.
I honestly found it super cool that they told a good story with just briefings and radio communications.
Hard disagree on the needing to see faces bit. The emotion and character building is done so well through the voice actors. As well as small world building pieces missing getting filled in by the log files you find throughout missions. The narrative is very clear, I couldn't disagree with this segment more
rusty
yeah, it's a bad point on his end
ok
yeah i didnt mind that, but i get the cents why ranton did say, so it didnt bother. that would be a welcome one of what if they did.
voice comms gradually highlights the delivery and emotional impact like Visual novels, the fan art interpretations of what the characters would look are cool.
@@FSVR54not a bad point just an opinion on which personally i agree with.
the funny thing is that these new AC games are actually less complicated than the og ps1 and ps2 games where you had to fuck around with heat management and other things
I would love to see more bloopers at the end like you did here.
You _must_ rack up a sizable amount of bloops during filming, and it's very fun getting some "unedited" sillyness at the end.
Love your reviews bro!
Keep it up!
ok, now you raised the bar for the bloopers in the end of the video, i demand that to happen to every video starting JETZT
9:48 I agree with most of what you said, but I'm of the opinion that the game absolutely lets you choose HOW you want your fun to be served to you. Saying that you're just going to be holding the shoot button kind of insults the entire gimmick of AC 6.
You made three builds that could tackle any situation in the entire game, but you kind of missed the entire point of the game allowing you to make your own ACs and giving you so many parts to do it with.
Anyways, great video! Never fails to delivers, this man.
I love how the dog suddenly got involved with ZERO warnings lol
„I wont Miss!“
„Watch out for friendly Fire“
„All or Nothing“
„Your just another threat to Rubicon“
AC VI is very that thing i needed in my life yesterday without knowing it.
And my god, did it felt good to play that game.
Ranton is here to Armor Our Cores
5:11 I listened for him saying Novosivirsk 5 times and giggled each time
5:20 He said thank you, you dog 😂💔
I think the gameplay loop being simple sorta depends on the choice of build. I did a melee build, and that felt a whole of a lot more engaging then just using ars n stuff
4:45 The disabled kid when he tries to tell me that he is disabled (but i already know that he is disabled)
@Ranton - how much emotion did Starfiled NPCs covert to you? And you did see their faces ... for hours and hours...
This man spent time training at the Shaolin Monastery and now he's sweating in his room having a fit while reviewing a video game. Beautiful.
His editing is so random and fast-paced that even the subtitles can't keep up😂
I think Ranton is a funny guy and all, and the work he puts into his videos is very apparent. But more and more recently have i been noticing that he's actually a massive casual.
I accidentally clicked on this video at 2x speed and only narrowly managed to switch to 1x before suffering a nosebleed.
The human body isn't equipped to handle that much Ranton that quickly.
Lulz ranton’s video in 2x is amazing, this is underrated
Spot on about overheat being impossible to keep track of on the UI.
To the point about the gameplay being undemanding at its core; I would argue that it depends on your build. You can have a lot of builds that require little other than strafing to the side and spamming your weapons nonstop, but for lightweight builds with reverse joint legs, the combat becomes more like a souls game where you can and often need to specifically dodge attacks by timing them and moving in the correct direction etc. I find the boss fights much more satisfying when I play that way rather than the low-effort button mashing that many builds can allow you to employ.
Watching a Ranton video on 2x speed is beautiful
3:53 "a breath of fresh foot"
youre hilarious man 😭
So now we went from Ranton blowing all his editing budget in the 1st minute to Ranton releasing all his forehead sweat in the first minute.
ABSOLUTELY LEGENDARY VIDEO EDITING AND RANTON
This must have been the best ad I've ever seen on this website
The Shaolin must be proud years of elegant form and movement practice produced this XD
I don't know how you can make a legit fully fledged review and a total shitpost at the same time, it's honestly just art.

7:38 im pretty sure they show your character human body in the cutscene and hes not looking like he could go touch grass even if he wanted to.
Now I see how they became such a powerhouse in the late '30s to early '40s. Such..... how would you say, panache?
Glad you still do these... Big fan
i love how practical the learning curve is presented; it's hard, but such as learning. as soon as you figured how the game works, you are literally b*tch slapping everything.
i was begging for more boss fights as soon as i reach NG++, worth praising how the game still offers gameplay variety and replayability with the freedom to adapt with your builds and choices with faction routes (love Liberation Front it has camaraderie moments for a dark or bleak melodramatic militarized game) and still keeps the gameplay refreshing, dynamic narrative is underappreciated for a gameplay oriented game like ER.
Most underrated RUclipsr, love ur dedication huge respect Brotha
Mark my words 1:08 is an instant classic meme we will be seeing everywhere
I agree, although making a 10/10 game with all of those missing features would probably be it's own genre to tackle with insane money & management to support multiplayer.
That 10/10 game letting players enter ACs sounds cool enough, but its only difficult when making something out of that time whenever the player has to enter an AC, making an activity than an annoying chore being incentivized to leave the AC.
Having both human movement & mecha movement would be interesting to mesh together for that human connection. Obviously humans would be evacuated from certain areas where mecha would guard resource excavation sites as appossed to human settlements where borders are scanned for intruderding terrors or manage immigration, taking into account the cost of attacks & return on investment.
Regardless of how this would be simulated, I haven't thought of anything but combining Titanfall, Halo, mirrors edge & soulsborne or similar formulas in regards to what players would do outside of their AC & how they'd get one.
We'll get this someday haha.
with all the editing it is no wonder that it took him so long for this review
Ahhh the good old iconic ranton rating of 7
This game had the best story I have experienced in a long time. This game is up there for me as GOTY for sure. I might be a mech weab, but this is just such an amazing piece of work that we have the opportunity to enjoy. Great vid, Mr. Ranton.
You must have not played a lot of games fam. There are recent games with way better storytelling.
I really thought I could predict the score on this one, but Rantoni always keeps us on our toes. I'm staying humble from now on
Interesting. I myself found the story of this game to be maybe the best I've experienced yet, with the gameplay also being very fun. Probably a 9/10 for me with the thing keeping it from a 10 being the bad balancing. Songbirds + Zimmermanns + maybe a pile bunker is just way too op

I just came across a game called „Grounded“ and I think he said he doesn’t like survival games… but survival is really not a problem in this game. lol
But it’s a very beautiful and well made game… and I think a review by him would be so awesome to watch, or better said it would be an awesome video in the end. You can do so much cool stuff in that game.
I don’t know maybe he would also see the beauty in that game
I knew he would give it a 7 when he talked about the combat.
Sorry but the games a snooze

Omg "crazy" and "retard" are my new favourite Anton personalities💯💯
You saying lack face and only voices and no human sight was devoiding story of any human element, for me it was quite opposite it has more human element than most AAA+ game without showing a single human and that was beautiful.
And I can't really relate to you not having any interest in story - yeah, it was nothing great or phenomenal but it was a solid story. At the end of I was feeling guilty of the choice I had to make and betray expectation of some. Even on ng++ it the ending had me feeling things

"Miyazaki, μπιφτέκι, σουβλάκι" that's poetry, not gonna lie.
Love the bloopers at the end. :DDDDDDD
very indeed
Everyone is entitled to their opinions :)
I personally think adding human faces would have taken away from the story. Imho, I think it was to illustrate how Ayre and Raven are equally sentient beings, despite one having a physical humanoid body, and the other is just pure energy.
This video is ratio'ed like hell. Just noticed.
Yea, pretty fair. Some previous games in series had much more complicated AC building capabilities, but the gameplay itself were the same (if not more simplistic). Overall, it is a solid 7/10 game for sure!
Can you imagine how sweaty Rantoni Pepperoni gets while being freaky in the sheets?
6:27 Solid Eminem Impression

FIRES OF RUBICONI WITH RANTONI LET'S GOOOOO
Ranton's editing packs more jokes-per-minute then even Xavier: Renegade Angel
not even one minute and Ranton is already sweaty :D
I haven't found the game to be too crazy hard but maybe I'm getting a bit older but it took me a while to get used to "charging one weapon, shooting the other one constantly and while dodging around still holding the charge and then pressing left stick to dash, again to kick - other trigger to melee and then stagger then finally release the other button you were holding the entire time to fire the big charge cannon"
sounds like ranton would love the older games set piece wise at least
The mech number idea is interesting, but with the number of variable components and possible builds, that number would probably have to be in the hundreds of millions, if not hundreds of billions.
Doing the math, after multiplying all the different variables of hand and shoulder weapons alone (including the weapon swap mechanic), the number came to almost 11 Billion possible variations
