    Jacobs will run a decently but it is his starting point and he will finish 5th/6th with Simbine around 9.97-10.00

    I think Omanyala's going to win it. Simbine has ran a 9.92+9.98 but I can't see him winning. Kerley 9.88+9.91 possibly the main threat. Tebogo has been consistently showing hes in better form than this time last year so I think a PR or close is likely but certainly not a win. Not expecting anything crazy from Bromell or Jacobs in their openers, Bromells best times almost all come in June/July and Jacobs has so far only showed up at championships.

    I want to see Letsile Tebogo humbled. If he flaunts during the last 20-30m again and doesn't place first, he's going to realize that his showboating won't cut it with the big boys. He will (hopefully) get serious and actually give it his all, and we will finally get to see his true potential after all of his fun runs last season.

    • @richardgallimore5976
      @richardgallimore5976 Год назад +1

      He won't showboat because he won't be in the lead with 20-30 to go. He only showboats when he's winning. I believe his season best (which tied his PB) of 9.91 was in the same race that Omanyala ran the 9.84 world lead, Tebogo got 2nd, & no showboating. Since it was -0.4 wind it shows he can go faster by a bit, but yeah he already got humbled.
      I see him getting 4th or 5th with a 9.90 personally.

      Tebogo is the 100m Junior WR holder & already tied his own JR WR this year, he's definitely not a 200m specialist. His 100m is #1 ever for a Junior, his 200m I believe is #2 ranked behind Knighton & just ahead of Bolt's 19.92 as a junior. He seems very well rounded though as I'm pretty sure his 300m is a Junior WR as well. Anywhere from 100~300 seems to be his playground imo.

    • @richardgallimore5976
      @richardgallimore5976 Год назад

      @@raya472 Fair enough. I'd say Bolt shines more at the 100m though personally. 9.58 WR will last longer than the 19.19 because while Bolt's speed endurance is good, it's not on Michael Johnson's, Noah Lyles or even Yohan Blake's level.
      Bolt's 200m is approximately double his 100m time,2.003x it looks like, 9.58/19.19 while Blake's is 1.988x, meaning his 200m time is less than his 100m time doubled (9.69/19.26), Lyles is 1.958x (9.86/19.31), MJs is 1.915, though I assume if he ran a 100m in his 200m WR year he could go fast (10.09/19.32).
      These are the top 4 200m runners of all time, & all but Bolt have a 200m that is better than their 100m time doubled. Bolt has less speed endurance than these guys, however nobody else has 9.58 speed so he gets out ahead enough that he can't be caught. If these 4 runs were put side by side all 3 runners would be catching up to Bolt in the final 30m or so, but his 100m would have given him too far of a lead to be caught. If Bolt's 200m had a ratio somewhere between Blake's & Lyles, say a 1.973 multiplier (MJs is far too good, as he was a 200/400 runner so that's unrealistic) that would give a 200m time of 18.90! Even at Blake's multiplier (maybe more realistic, he's not a 200m specialist like Lyles is, he's a 100/200 guy like Bolt), that gives a 19.05. IAAF scoring tables shows a 19.16 and a 9.58 being the same point value, so they think the 100m is slightly better, though I personally think a 9.58 is more on par with a 19.05.
      Sorry, I'm bad at being concise, lol.
