Hey now ! I just finished my tenth and final radiation ☢️ treatment for Stage 4 Prostate Cancer and I’m quite nauseous and I am in a good bit of pain even though I took my medicine. I’m going to listen to this, and hopefully fall asleep eventually. Thanks for the upload or whatever you young kids call it. Ha ha.
@@MTtroutfisher406 thank you trout fisher I’m half way through my Chemo sessions. Not as rough as the radiation. Treatment is getting easier and my cancer is shrinking.
In 1973, my college roommate had spent the year before hitchhiking around the country following the Dead, he was devoted, He got me hooked, taught me how to hitchhike too. I saw the Dead at Watkins Glen Summer Jam, ‘73 with my brother. We camped about 50 feet front center stage, All 3 bands played Friday night & Saturday, 600,000 showed up to see the Dead, the Band & the Allman Bros. My brother is gone now, but this sure makes me think of him & our wild weekend at the Raceway! They musta played Truckin’ for an hour, we were all dancing.
Grateful Dead never stops surprising me. What they're creating is enormous. First you think it's a song then it's like a village or country or a continent and then maybe a planet. And all of the sudden: It's an entire universe with additional multiverses! It showes the endless possibilities of human imagination! Their way of doing music is magic. Their notes seem to fly deeper and higher than anything else. Overall I am thankful that we all can listen to this! It is such a pleasure and brightens up my day and night! Their music opens your heart and allows you to shine from the inside. Many times I say to people: "You have to listen to Grateful Dead it will change your life!" Because You truly feel alive & inspired when you hear them. Life is about joy, exploration and being kind to each other! This music is a celebration of the wonder of life! 00:07:31 What a flawless breathtaking beauty! I love it!! The vibe. The happiness. The joy. May 1977 What can you say!! Outstanding!! 00:17:21 I am so surprised. How did they come up with this? 1976 is a hot year. Jerry had many incredible moments with Jerry Garcia Band. For example "Sitting In Limbo" 1976-04-04 or same Date: Knocking on heaven's door. 00:27:19 Speaking of Heaven's door: With this Dark Star your are not only knocking on heavens doors! Hard to describe it: Transformative, sublime, majestic, deep dream state of the hive mind. I am totally in awe about this Dark Star. It's almost scary how good it is. Honey for the ears! Truly deserves to be famous! Btw.: Sugar Magnolia on the same date lets you scream: Sunshine day dream!! No matter where you are in life. 00:51:52 Jesus, what comes out of that is a pure eargasm! Precious delighting dynamics! With many: "Are you kidding me!?"-moments, wow! They're flirting with a million varieties of bliss. I missed Franklin's Tower after this one! They played it right after it on that day! Slipknot & Franklin are a sweet couple in fresh love. 01:06:40 - Oh, Phil you sweet humming bird! You can hear in the background how people scream in joy! You can feel in your tummy that you HAVE to dance hahaha! What a cooking jam! 01:14:00 - Has a really nice and warm turn around! It showes how life could be all the time all around the planet! 01:25:56 - You have to listen to this loud! All the adventures of the band and THE BEAR seem to be incarnated in this musical world! 01:50:30 How it growes out of them! 01:58:10 Building the tension! Getting hot! Bringing out the growing sunshine! Flawless! Super tight with elegant energy. 02:03:27 - Incredible positive! Jerry is nailing it like the whole band! Playing in the Band & The dreamy Other One that night was really enjoyable too! 02:22:04 - One of the best Dancin' ever! The mount everest of Grooviness! A happy cat walk: GD arrives in astonishing high levels of happiness. Never has a band played this good. I rest my case here!! You have to jump and dance hahaha! 02:55:35 Everything seems calm and quite. And chill. Then Jerry quietly appears with a thousand mini notes like a centipede and it is getting intense all of the sudden! Incredible dynamics by the whole band unfolds! 02:59:23 Very inspired jam! So much to enjoy here! They have a song and then they take it out for a wide ride. Amazing musical storytelling! Jerry is the high flying bird and the whole band is building the world he is flying through. Phil is super bouncy! 03:03:02 This might be a "Supplication" Jam. Maybe 1977? ;) Followed by another one? Haha 03:11:20 Man Smart, Woman Smarter? Haha I am guessing now GD songs. Reminds me "Iko Iko" too. Feels definitely like the late 80s! Frivolous Keys by Brent with an amazing response by Jerry! Very caribbean and cheerful. 03:15:06 Out of the blue we have a: Dark Star! Totally different phase and face of the band: vulnerable, tender, delicate, peaceful. Like a warm rain in the rainforest. A creation that creates itself over and over again in beauty. 03:23:55 He is gone! Some really hot licks here! Heartfelt version! 03:30:25 Bird Song! Should be in the 80s! 03:36:45 We are getting groovy again! Shakedown Street!! This might be the very late 80s! 03:43:29 Playing in the Band! That's the 90s for sure. 03:50:02 No idea what song. Maybe Blues of Allah? Incredible beautiful! Sounds like it is a couple of thousand years old. Very nice pick! 03:57:27 Jerry with an incredible feel for melodies. Striking beauty! No idea what it is. Maybe The Eleven? I need to know this. Sounds like an amazing concert night! 04:00:02 Not fade away! High energy by the entire band! Jerry blasts some serious sunshine out of his guitar! My love is bigger than a cadillac!! haha After a cool off we have a nice jam situation going! 04:10:55 The Other One! Very dreamy until... 04:21:45 We have all of the sudden a minor fade out into a totally different world. A jazzy twisted derail. With a truly unique almost scary vibe. Dissolving into total madness. Fearlessly played! And boom: 04:26:54 Beauty starts again: First little! With hints. Then it grows! And Bob brings the morning dawn after a long night. The vibe so fresh. This is why Grateful Dead played in a totally different world. So many layers! 04:30:52 Wow! Really special. I am just in awe what Jerry plays here. It's like a wonderful poem. 04:33:46 Chillout area! Wohooo! 04:37:31 Sugaree!! Mindblowing gorgeous heaven!! You have to cry because it is so beautiful. Transcendent bliss. May 1977? I am not sure. Great picks! Many GOATS of mine are present here. The Fox Theater 5-19-77 Dancing is my fav. The band is on absolute fire! Shout out to the 11-17-73 Here Comes Sunshine. It is other worldly. The song Road Runner on the 2009 Let it Rock Volume 2 JGB album (live from unknown year) reminds me of this HCS. Give it a listen through the magnificent solo. It’s got to be 73!

Have been listening to this beautiful compilation while I'm, reading Phil Collins book in Bali, thanks so much ,we that love Jerry probably will never be able to top his magic that he provided us
Mega project idea: 8-10 hours of 72-90 era slow moving jams to sleep to. All of it super slow, weaving back and forth, and right at the end have a Space that then mimics the end of a standard set 1 (short form), set 2 (long jam drums space), encore form.
I think this will be my next project. Do you have any recording you want to hear specifically? Song wise I'm thinking: Dark Star, He's Gone (outro), Stella Blue, Crazy Fingers... Any other ideas?
@@gratefuldeadosaurusrex Really disembodied (for lack of better words) jams from '72-'74, like this moment between Truckin' and The Other One on the "Believe It If You Need It" album. Every time I hear it I get calm. I would like the last little bit to be something like Drums>Space>The Wheel>Stella Blue/China Doll>Throwing Stones>NFS/Lovelight. And the final Drums>Space to be one of those '90s ones that lasts like half an hour and slowly builds tension
It was the offers of this old wild world > to live, to share, to occupy, to have fun and to live together. Unfortunately we have been so focused on the era change that we haven't had the time or the consciousness to organize but the spirit is still there 💃
this just came on my radar , oh my , great memory board in your brain , who ever you are you have dropped a masterpiece for all of are head @ hearts to absorb ,truly a work of art and well thought of great job , {Doclab}
You're more than welcome! Sorry it took so long for the next one to come out. It takes a lot of work but couldn't have done it without the dead putting in 1000x the work...
Thank you so much for all the time and work you put into these.....I like to listen to instrumental music when doing work that requires concentration and focus....usually alot of Jean Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream type of stuff...these mixes are now part of my work flow....I absolutely love the Dead's lyrics and their singing , and also listen to a lot of full shows and songs, but honestly sometimes all we need is music, sweet music...
Deeply grateful for this and your 5 hour compilations, 1971-83 especially, kept me going during Covid lock downs in India, more than words can say. And I think i already agree this tops it, only 3 hours in… (one small time stamp correction, the 3:07 supplication is from 5-8-77, looks like a typo as 5-22 comes later) 🙏
got through the 1st hour. beautiful. its like poetry and math and painting and science in one. i appreciate the music of the grateful dead. i did get to see them play once in sac cali in 1991. went to shows outside at sac, oakland, shoreline and seattle.
This is wonderful! Thank you for the work you put into compiling these jams. The Dead never cease to amaze when journeying into uncharted sonic territories and feeling wherever the music may lead. It is such a communal spirit and ride they embrace and take us all on together. Thank you!
Thanks for putting this together! I feel like I can't find enough super long jam comps as solid as this one. Full playthrough, time and time again. Much love!

Back for Day 2 listening party! Am I terrible that for me I only really want to listen to the jams? Don't get me wrong I love the vocals (mostly, sorry Donna lol), lyrics and vibes of their different songs, moods and styles over the years, but what the heck is going on with some of these jams?! They take me places emotionally that lift me out of despair and give me a vision for what my life is and can be that feels sublime. Never saw them, but I followed Phish for a brief season as a runaway in the mid-90s and it seemed like there were a lot of displaced former dead tour people around then. I have such gratitude for whatever vibe it was they turned me on to because a lot of things have come and go since then, but the Dead have been on fairly steady rotation ever since. Lots of gratitude for the DJ, love these comps!
Trust me I feel guilty everyday for taking out the vocals. But yes there is something so captivating about the instrumentals themselves and that's what inspired me to make these videos in the first place. Thanks for listening friend :)
This is excellent - looking forward to going to sleep tonight! Question - is it possible to to share higher res audio (flac?), I would really like to to listen to this in the car Thanks for sharing
this is nice. a fresh Dead mix with suprises that can go on for hours. believe it or not i miss the "2 hours of the Grateful Dead tuning" video. that was brilliant background music for gatherings. wonder why it got knocked off.
@@gratefuldeadosaurusrex it was literally all tuning, noodling, rat-tat-tat, tink-tink-tink, and audience background. all the stuff between songs or before the gig started. no talking outside maybe a "ch-ch" sound to make sure a vocal mic was hot. the entire recording was as if they were about to begin but it never started. genius.

Thanks for your hard work of putting this cosmic journey together! People like you provide the "bus" to ride on for a while. Very cool artwork. Loving the mix. I am greatful ❤✌️⚡️💀⚘️ I listened to your other comp over and over and over. It of course never gets old. THANK YOU for putting another together. Love your choices by the way. ❤
You're so welcome my friend. The bus to never ever land :)
To say this is awesome is an understatement. This has become one of my go to listens. Thanks again.
And may the bus roll on forever
Those two Crazy Fingers feel like Spanish Jam > The Eleven with Dead Reggae backing, amazing.
Yesssssss bless your soul!
Oh this is so great ! I love Jerry playing anything ! All the time for us old Deadheads ! ❤️🐰🐇🌹👽🪐🛸🥀☮️🎹🎼☠️💀👻🥰
🙏🏾
Thanks so much for this effort. Saw your plea for patience with timestamps, but looking forward to the rest of them when you can.
I'm slacking on it. I'll get them up tomorrow this is a promise to you Toni ♥️
Thanks so much for your time and effort! If you feel you'd like to talk about your compilation processes some time, I'm sure I wouldn't be the only Grateful reader
@@toniseiler4951 Maybe I'll go live one of these days? Finally show my face haha
i really like how you included the cheers/whistles of the crowd lol- makes my high ass feel like im also enjoying this with others despite being in an empty room
This is making my crazy ride from Delaware to Connecticut more tolerable.....🍄✌️
Now I can practice jamming with my favorite jammers!
I got my first miracle March 26 my 18 Birthday at the Omni in the A. Before I marched to the PhilZone I stopped to hug a friend and found a heady twamp on the floor. Thank You for a real good time y,all.
In College One Roomate went Crazy because the Other Roomate listened to Eyes of the World on Repeat a hundred times a day.
I did this to my neighbor with Workingman's Dead and years later he told me that what stuck with him was the line 'please don't murder me'
@@benzminibusdoc We all had buses and vans and Jammed out to the same tape over and over. WD is another beautiful specimen for that.
when they finally capture one of those tic tac things and open it up don't be surprised to find beings blissed out and listening to this
The perfect goods.. 76, 77,73…..
You had me at Supplication!!💕❤🎸💯🌊🏄♂️🌊🐕👏👂💕👀
Thank you!!! Jerry grooving on guitar is incredibly delightful to listen to ❤
MY HAPPY PLACE!!!!! These LYRIC FREE compilations blow my mind. you can hear the lyrics brewing in the background...BUT YOU DON'T GET ANY! It is such a TEASE to be sure and I LOVE IT!! Many Thanks Brother...no rush YOU just take your time....
WELCOME BACK!!!!
Hi. Hope you are well!👋✌
Love a good Cazy Finger
1975-08-13 is so beautiful
Ha ! I used to do this on cassettes !!!
Best music for work. Really love the artwork and overall vibe. Well done
Thank you! Artwork is AI generated from silly prompts.
@@gratefuldeadosaurusrex that makes it even cooler. That’s a trip! What’s an example of a prompt you used?

Incredibly beautiful slipknot. I'm in love.
Thank you brother
Wow this is a glorious day, the gratefuldeadosaurusrex dropped a new jam compilation!! I will listen to this at least a hundred times!!
Thank you!!
Hahaha I knew you'd be exited bro ♥️
@@gratefuldeadosaurusrex Of course! Because of your compilations I fell deeply in love with Grateful Dead! It has been almost 3 years now and I can't stop listening to them hahaha Have a great day!!
Some DEEP cuts in here. Slippery, smooth m, sonic exploration. This as Heady as it gets. Thank you for your hard work ✌️💀🌹
That's some truth
Fantastic. Thank you so very much.
Dang man this is good. Just put me on a journey in my mind. Thanks!!
this is great.. thanks for putting this together
It was the offers of this old wild world > to live, to share, to occupy, to have fun and to live together. Unfortunately we have been so focused on the era change that we haven't had the time or the consciousness to organize but the spirit is still there 💃
Yikes - nodding at stowe lake. Time to boogie
Sweeeeeet!!!
Just flow and more flow. 😶🌫️
this just came on my radar , oh my , great memory board in your brain , who ever you are you have dropped a masterpiece for all of are head @ hearts to absorb ,truly a work of art and well thought of great job , {Doclab}

Beautiful work! Thanks so much. This will be added to my list of music to write by...
You're more than welcome! Sorry it took so long for the next one to come out. It takes a lot of work but couldn't have done it without the dead putting in 1000x the work...
Beautiful
I work to all Dead and JGB throughout my workday!! GRATEFUL for all the TAPERS !!!
Greatest American Band,NOT just cause of their music, THEY SHOWED MAJOR RESPECT TO THE PEOPLE WHOM ENJOYED THEIR MUSIC,,...MAJOR!!!!

Me too😊
Me 3 !❤️🧡💚💜💙🎹🎼☮️🐰🐇🌹🥀
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccceeeee!!!! ✌️😎
Cheers 🍻
Thank you so much for all the time and work you put into these.....I like to listen to instrumental music when doing work that requires concentration and focus....usually alot of Jean Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream type of stuff...these mixes are now part of my work flow....I absolutely love the Dead's lyrics and their singing , and also listen to a lot of full shows and songs, but honestly sometimes all we need is music, sweet music...
Thank you! This is so good!
Deeply grateful for this and your 5 hour compilations, 1971-83 especially, kept me going during Covid lock downs in India, more than words can say. And I think i already agree this tops it, only 3 hours in… (one small time stamp correction, the 3:07 supplication is from 5-8-77, looks like a typo as 5-22 comes later)
🙏
Taking that back, yes it’s 5-22! 😅
Thank you for putting this together! (Plus all the other compilations)
This is fucking fantastic....you have great taste and aesthetic sensibility. Amazing jams.
I agree... one choice moment after another.
got through the 1st hour. beautiful. its like poetry and math and painting and science in one. i appreciate the music of the grateful dead. i did get to see them play once in sac cali in 1991. went to shows outside at sac, oakland, shoreline and seattle.
Recently discovered your excellent compilations. Listening to these brings me a lot of joy. Thank you!

Love that opening Supplication to kick it all off, thank you for making these 🌹 ⚡️
6 hours? Don’t you have a life?
But then I realise
Grateful Dead IS LIFE!!
So carry on and never stop making these excellent videos you legend!
Much love!
Thank you for your contributions sir

i think i just discovered the holy grail
love from France to every Grateful Dead fans ! (as a young one)
Good Lord this is gorgeous. Thank you so much.
Brilliant thank you
This is excellent - looking forward to going to sleep tonight!
Question - is it possible to to share higher res audio (flac?), I would really like to to listen to this in the car
Thanks for sharing
Always love those Milkin the Turkey jams. Classic Dead. Thank you for putting this together
way more interesting live than any of their studio albums i ever owned
edibles + heady jams = ☮ 💃🕺
My hero
Mil gracias. The Supplication always a favorite!!!
this is nice. a fresh Dead mix with suprises that can go on for hours. believe it or not i miss the "2 hours of the Grateful Dead tuning" video. that was brilliant background music for gatherings. wonder why it got knocked off.
Do I make another one that is 6 hours? Was it just literally them tuning?
@@gratefuldeadosaurusrex it was literally all tuning, noodling, rat-tat-tat, tink-tink-tink, and audience background. all the stuff between songs or before the gig started. no talking outside maybe a "ch-ch" sound to make sure a vocal mic was hot. the entire recording was as if they were about to begin but it never started. genius.
i should also note that sources WERE listed, too. whoever made it did it absolutely the right way.
One of the greatest compilations EVER !!!❤😊
I’m grateful to you for making this 🦋🦄
11.11.73 Dark Star is one of the best, along with 10.18.74. Great Winterland shows.
