    I own the same firearm,and I run mini shells through it w/an adapter. Less recoil, same result.

    About distance; Hickock was hitting his gong with it. I have one. I see it as a SHTF weapon.

    Oh, you might consider loading your side spare shells in the opposite direction which would make loading easier.

    push/pull
    for good control push the handle, pull the grip
    add a laser on it and it is very usable

    People have been able to hunt full grown deer at a very good distance with it, and effectively, thats not why i ordered mine tho.
    Its a nice lil gun to own.
    I ordered the SPX which will be here in a few days.

    I put a Knoxx breacher grip (recoil absorbing pistol grip) on mine.
    Had some questions about legality, but was told it was okay because overall length was just over 27 inches, after installation.
    It looks kind of funky, but it really cuts felt recoil on 2³/⁴ buckshot down to about what birdshot feels like, tho it doesn't do anything for birdshot.
    Oh, BTW.....Word to the wise....
    I got ambitious, and put two 3" magnum #4 turkey loads thru it, and it didn't do SQUAT for those!
    Take my advice,
    DONT DO THAT!
    Your wrist will appreciate it!!!
    Other than that, if you're looking to put a conventional type pistol grip on yours, I recommend that one.
    Happy shooting, brothers.

    very nice review . i’ve been thinking about one of these for HD and for the Truck in case we have another repeat of last year . within 20-25 yards with 2 3/4 shells it’s a very viable option. most deadly encounters are at extreme close range anyway

      If you shoot someone running away or at a non-threatening distance, it would have been better for you to have let him take everything you own.

    I got a different make because it was a good deal. It's ok. I can't really change it around in the ways I'd like to. Might be better to get an old used with 18.5" barrel and what ever stock you like. Several gun stores have said you can not change the grip.

    I'll stick with my 12 gauge bullpup. Takes 10 round mags or 20 round drums. Has a full 18" barrel. Can be shoulder \ aim fired. And is about the same size as this.

    Do a review with the Anguilla mini shell. Is that a good home defense round?

    • @guillermomaguire5394
      @guillermomaguire5394 8 месяцев назад

      Federal #4 mini buck is probably the best for homes. Patterns tight. Here at OPSol Texas, maker of the Flex Adapter, we have tested quite a few minis, and this one is solid. Other youtubers have tested and have liked. The Aguila minibuck has similar power, but pattern is about 30% wider at 8 yards from a Shockwave.

    I have this in 410 and put a dove tail safety switch on it as well as a picatiny rail on top with a red dot laser and a tactical flash light and a pistol grip on it and it is AWESOME !!! Perfect for self defense.

    A Shockwave needs only two additions: A GREEN Crimson Trace laser saddle and a Talon or other brand rubber grip cover. The one and only thing I HATE about this gun is the tang safety. WTF were you thinking, Mossberg? EVERYONE who owns one of these has bled because of it (Right, Hickok45?). A crossbolt safety on this is a no-brainer. Screw the tiny, if any, bit of ergonomic advantage they claim by using the tang safety. I grew up with a crossbolt safety on everything I shot from BB guns to shotguns, and Mossberg's tang safety was a slap in the face to my manual of arms. I have to REMEMBER to take the safety off to shoot, and that's not good. It should come as natural as breathing.

    • @richardpearce2186
      @richardpearce2186 Год назад +3

      Personally prefer the backstrap safety over the crossguard. Finger is on the trigger slightly faster. Safety is right there in your face. Gross muscle movement rather than a fine one. Different strokes for different folks.

    • @atomicsmith
      @atomicsmith Год назад +1

      You have to REMEMBER to take the safety off on any gun that has a safety. Most safeties are thumb operated: AR, 1911, Rem 700, etc. Also has the advantage that you’re not sticking your finger near the trigger guard to put it on safe. Also pump shotguns aren’t considered drop safe and really shouldn’t be left chambered on safe.

    Thanks for the review. Picking up mine this week. I didn't have a chance to look in the box & see what's in there...but did the sling come with it or no? Curious as it was suddenly on there when you took it to the range.

    not an A1 just a 590,they don't make a 590 A 1 shockwave that i have seen.

    • @bodazaphfa
      @bodazaphfa 5 месяцев назад

      The A1 marker is the same as a standard 590, which is what the shockwave is, in a “condensed” version. All the A1 means is those particular ones marked with the A1 are designated for the military. Theres no physical difference.

      If you had a stock on it you would have to register it as a short barrel shot gun and pay the government 200 for the license since it has the bird head grip legally its a firearm and not a short barrel shotgun
