The Bluetooth implementation in the One R will only allow ONE peripheral to be connected at any given time.
Thank you for letting everyone know! You could always record the GPS data externally with a phone, watch or tracker and then add it to the video in Telemetry Overlay

Finally getting the ONE R and seriously thinking about Telemetry Overlay. Since I usually go for long rides I guess I’ll be just recording the most interesting parts of my routes, thus my setting might be: One R/iPhone App for GPS data while recording and a Garmin Felix 5X Plus for full route GPS recording. Questions are: 1) would it be also your suggested setting, given my needs? 2) is the iPhone app recording live GPS even if in background, with the start/stop recording activated from the Roadie Remote? (iPhone unlocked, with another navigation app running) 3) is the acceleration data taken from the sole GPX flow? Should it be, do you know how many tracking per second are taken? 4) I might have read something above in regards with lean angles. How could they be (even indirectly) tracked by GPS/Attitude and exported in Telemetry Overlay? Many thanks in advance: these are many questions but hopefully useful for many people.
As far as I remember, the iPhone app only sends the GPS data to the camera if the screen is on and the app is open. Not if you lock it. Do you happen to have an Apple Watch? I think it's more convenient as it keeps sending the data (but I have not tested that personally). Both the iPhone and the Apple Watch record at 1Hz, while the dedicated GPS Remote records at 10Hz. So streams like GPS-based acceleration and lean angle should be more accurate with the remote. The camera also records accelerometer data but in the case of Insta360 camera it is often not aligned with the direction of travel. The Lean Angle data is also based on GPS data for Insta360 videos, not the other sensors (at least for now)
I subscribed to your channel and enjoy watching all the videos! Thank you very much! Tell me, please, what is "telemetry overlay" and where did you get this file? Is this a program? What's it? Where can I get it? Help me solve this problem! Thank you so much for your reply!
The first workflow for reframed videos, yes. Just import the rendered video in Resolve, or export as Transparent Video and merge footage and overlays there. For the second workflow (full 360 output), you will need to use some 360 plugin for resolve. You might want to do some research on KartaVR, they have options for that.
@@TelemetryOverlay Thanks for replying back. Quick question, do the software allow customizable overlays (non-telemetry), say for example a visual audio equalizer or a random image and if not do you know what software that can do customized overlays? Thanks.
Hi, Great video. I'm planning on buying the One R but want to know if the One R has lean angle in it's telemetry options or that i need to get an additional sensor for lean angle
Hi. The camera does not record the Lean Angle directly, but for motorcycling videos the software calculates it from the GPS data, which is not perfect but usually good enough. It also calculates an Attitude Estimate from the gyroscope and accelerometer sensors, which can be useful in other sports (but not motorcycling, where there is a constant acceleration)q. I hope this makes sense
I have an Insta360 but not the GPS remote. With my phone I find the GPS data to be pretty erratic. I have a Garmin handheld GPS, that a file from this be used rather than GPS info obtained by the camera/phone? I have a project I need to get with clear weather and don't have time to order the GPS remote. Thanks!
Probably. Does your Garmin device save tracks as FIT or GPX? In both cases you can import that into Telemetry Overlay. Otherwise you might be able to convert your tracker files with Garmin Connect (their online service)

Right. There would be a couple of ways to go about it. You can follow the second part of the tutorial and then export the video, import it in Insta360 studio (or a similar 360 software) and do the reframing with keyframes. You could also do it in Premiere with the VR Reframe effect by GoPro

Hey! Nice video and thumbs up for the workflow. I am using Telemetry Overlay too. However I noticed that with Insta360 One X2 I have a different (calculated) speed than the actual. How can I fix this. It's 10 km difference.
Different speedometers use different smoothing values. That accounts for some of the differences. You can change the smoothing amount of a gauge in Telemetry Overlay, or in the case of Insta360 switch between 2D and 3D speeds, which are calculated differently. Maybe that helps. Some speedometers are also more accurate than others. The one on my motorcycle is not very accurate, for example. And commercial cars are known to often display a higher speed than the real one, for safety reasons. It could also be that the camera or external tracker got a bad GPS signal and that caused a bad speed calculation
Hi. I have purchased the Insta360 One R 1 inch mod. I activated the GPS button on the Insta app. When I import a video from the 1 Inch camera, you software is not finding the telemetry data. Is there any way to correct that? I also have the Insta remote which I could use if it provides better telemetry than the iPhone app. Thanks
Are you locking your phone after pressing record? Unfortunately the phone screen needs to stay On while filming for the GPS data to actually record. Otherwise use the Insta GPS Remote, but make sure it has the GPS signal icon before you start recording

Thanks a lot! I followed all your instructions, but my question is related to the settings tab. Do you first select Insta as telemetry data, or keep the default selection to gopro? Not sure if it makes any difference....
Hi. I'm not sure what setting you are referring to. In Settings, there's ""Insta: Read accel & gyro" and "GoPro: Read accel & gyro". Is that what you mean? Those settings are independent. They mean "When reading data from an Insta (or GoPro) camera, do yuo want to import the data from the accelerometer and thy gyroscope?". I’m currently looking into alternative methods to overlay telemetry data onto my Insta360 videos and came across this software. Specifically, the scenario I’m trying to sort out is non-continuous videos shot while riding a motorcycle. I use the GPS Preview Remote which records GPX data and I have a Garmin watch that I want to use to record the overall activity data. What would be the most effective approach to syncing Garmin data with the Insta360 videos? Strangely Insta360 strips time data when exporting from Studio. Is it possible to sync using each video’s GPX data against Garmin’s FIT data?

Sí. Solo ten en cuenta que Telemetry Overlay no hace la conversión de archivos 360, esa parte tendrías que hacerla con Insta360 Studio como puedes ver en el tutorial
Do you mean for 360 outputs? Yes. The last part of the tutorial covers that, if I understand you correctly. Any 360 space transformations will have to be handled with a (360 capable) third party video editor, not in Telemetry Overlay
@@TelemetryOverlay I mean in the final output of the video, the text/graphics position will remain in the screen instead of moving along with the image. In your tutorial, the map could only be seen if you look up in the sky. What I would have preferred is that the map will stay visible whether you look up or down, turn left or right.
@@geotaggingpeo-bohol5804 Thank you for clarifying. You cannot achieve that with a single video. You would need two videos (or two completely separate layers) and a software that can reproduce 360 footage plus a semi-transparent layer as a heads-up display. many thanks
Thank you. Can Garmin Venu 2 connect to Insta360 one x2 as gps?
I have not tested that combination personally, but it shouldn't be a problem
Go Pro Max has the same in-built unit as Hero 9, right? I wanted to use it as a helmet mount but wanted speed and analysis data.
Yes. It records the same data as the H9. You can follow this tutorial and replace Insta360 Studio with GoPro Player
@@TelemetryOverlay thanks a lot! I actually made a typo, sorry. I meant it has the same inbuilt GPS unit right? I do track days so needed GPS more than the 360 footage, but both combined would be amazing.
Yes. Same GPS :)
How to connect Garmin watch with 360 to get Gps thanks 🙏
This tutorial has a section on syncing external telemetry, but if both your camera and GPS tracker have a good GPS signal, they will sync automatically ruclips.net/video/zfaWz_uZ5as/видео.html
Hey I am a cyclist and have used this sotware for a while. However I also found there is no gauge for cycling power or watt. would you tell me where to find it and get it? thx a lot. ^^
Hi. The Power gauge should be available if you import data with a power stream, for example the original FIT files from a Garmin tracker. GPX files may or may not have power data. Feel free to send an email with data samples for further analysis
@@TelemetryOverlay my bicycle now has no power device but i'd like to have the device in the near future. Once i have the power device on my bicycle and the cycling power stream would be recorded on the FIT and GPX afterwards the "power gauge" is going to appear on" Add Guage." Am I right? ^ ^
in other words, no power stream no "power guage" showing up?

Thanks a lot! I followed all your instructions, but my question is related to the settings tab. Do you first select Insta as telemetry data, or keep the default selection to gopro? Not sure if it makes any difference....
Hi. I'm not sure what setting you are referring to. In Settings, there's ""Insta: Read accel & gyro" and "GoPro: Read accel & gyro". Is that what you mean? Those settings are independent. They mean "When reading data from an Insta (or GoPro) camera, do yuo want to import the data from the accelerometer and thy gyroscope?". This is optional because it takes more time to import those streams. You can get info on each setting by hovering the mouse on them
@@TelemetryOverlay yes this is what i mean...thanks for your help!! But is the Insta selection more accurate with its GPS telemetry data when using Insta360 camera and remote control? Or stay with the gopro setting selection?
The GPS is not affected by those settings. Only the accelerometer and gyroscope
@@TelemetryOverlay Have performed a comparison when loading the 00 insv file from the Insta360 camera. And I don't see any difference either
Amazing! 👏👏👏
Can I have any way to make awesome video like this in iPad?
Sorry. It's for MacOS and Windows
thank you, I just don't want to upgrade my PC, hope someday it will enable on iOS.
Pleas help mee import gpx to video , pc and smatphone
@@JardaStonava where are you stuck?
Muy interesante. Buen video. 👍😄
I recorded the GPS data with my Polar watch. How can I cut the GPX file , that the GPX file is synchronized with the video recording? Otherwise I have to record the whole trip, that the recording is synchronized with the GPX file. I only want to film certain parts, otherwise the camera is off. During a 2-hour bike ride, I will record about 15-20 minutes. If I load a 10 second video with the created GPX file into the program, the whole trip will be played in 10 seconds.
Hi Thomas, If your Insta360 video contains good GPS data Telemetry Overlay will sync the GPX file automatically with the video. If the video does not have GPS data you will have to adjust the Sync settings manually, as explained in this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/zfaWz_uZ5as/видео.html
@@TelemetryOverlay
Thank you for your fast reply. i have an Insta ONE X2 and it doesn't work at all.
the gpx file is exported from strava .
@@thomasha88 Are you recording the GPS data to the Insta360 in any way? With your phone or the GPS Remote? Regarding the GPX file, does it load in Telemetry Overlay? Remember that if you are using the full version you have email support. Feel free to submit your files for a better analysis
@@TelemetryOverlay no, just the .gpx-file from my polar watch. yes, the file loaded without errors in the program
Is it possible to sync using each video’s GPX data against Garmin’s FIT data?
damn u made me regret my fitbit choice over garmin... -.-
I'm not super familiar with Fitbit. Can't you record GPS data with it?
Is it possible to fix the positioning of the stats relative to the screen instead of rotating with the image?
That probably exists but I have never seen it.
Do you do editing for hire?
Not any more. Sorry
how can I reset the license and use it on my new laptop? I forgot the email I used to purchase the license.😂
You can do it from the bottom of the general settings on your old computer. If it is too late for that, send an email and we'll do it. Email response times are slower than usual at the moment
Hola.
Did it work with insta360 x and remote
yes, it works with the One X and the GPS remote
Map overlay for moto vloggers
using Google map landscape mode

Cool
Wow~ how overlay??
Sorry. I don't understand the question
I like it, but I don't do enough videos to make it worth the $149 price.
Insta360 app work properly on android phone??
I think generally it does, but this workflow is for Windows and MacOS
@@TelemetryOverlay thanks man 😊
Is this the paid version or the trial version?
The full one
@@TelemetryOverlay Thank you
100$ ? for the software ?
Till this day, he never explained why he made the reframed video he exported from Insta 360 studio. He just exported it, and renamed it "reframed" yet had to use the original clip with "OO" endings. I mean, just complicating things unnecessarily. These kinds of tutorials look like someone trying to flex their geeky skills than actually solving problems. And, are you sure anyone on earth is ready to be going through all these crap to get overlays on like 50-100 clips some of us take during each ride?
@@Sir-Kay the original clip with 00 is for the data, the video comes from the reframed one. The advanced tutorial shows how to batch-process many clips
But why does it need GPS?
To display metrics like speed, altitude, position... Or do I not understand your question?
Did it work with insta360 x and remote
Yes. It does work with the Insta360 One X and the GPS Remote
