If you have not tried this drill, I highly recommend it. We ran it hard in the TAPS class I attended and it can be a workout as well as a shooting drill! I put it to use at work as soon as I returned from the class. Simple, relevant, challenging and fun.
Pat, at :31 your left foot was up getting ready to move to the next firing point as you shot. A guy I shoot with (M in uspsa) showed me that and I was conflicted about that stance/style . Of course at first I was like that's fuckin stupid...then... I tried it and I noticed I can go quicker and no shit Pat Mac does it too, I guess I owe a case a beer...
11Bulletstopper That's because you've been brainwashed by this "stance" bullshit. Shooting is done with your upper body. And besides, you're not shooting a canon. It's a pistol, for gods sake. Think about it like this... If some rapist just grabbed your loved one by the hair, and was dragging her towards his vehicle, are you REALLY gonna think about your "stance"? Instructors have somehow managed to make the coolest sport in the world(shooting), nerdy, geeky, and dorky. This is why I love PatMac. He has you practicing the necessary skills that you need, and leaves out the petty bs. What's your goal? Are you trying to slow fire shoot in the Olympics, or are you training for a possible conflict situation???? No offense about using a loved one for an example. I'm just being "real".
Have you tried running this drill instead of five yard incramints 10 yard incramints and instead of using steel running it with a ipsc target and using idpa scoring to score it? If you have I would be curious to know what your time was. Something to let me know what a good time on this drill would be.

a Marine in one of my courses shot this in 14 seconds. he never stopped. shot from each cone, one foot at each cone.

Stock Glock 17 but with Dawson sights. I did my second run at 15.45 but snapped the time off unclipping the timer from my belt. Dammit!
Dawson sights are excellent...I have them on my Sig P320 Competition X 5.25 that I use for 3-Gun Limited/factory Division.
