Best Summers EVER, followed by winter, WINTER, and OMG It's STILL Winter, followed by the best Summers ever. Used to live in the numbered streets. Beautiful! Also, the sky is blue most all the time.
I lived there from 1997-2000 and loved it so much I'm planning on retiring there! My first experience with how friendly folks are was driving back into town from from the desert side when my alternator went out. When my car stopped in traffic I was expecting horns, rude gestures, etc.., but people got out and not only helped me get the car off the road they gave me a lift to a mechanic who later repaired the alternator at a more than reasonable cost. IMO it's a perfect combination of city and the outdoors, with so many eautiful places near by and for you fly fishermen three bucket list rivers near by: Henry's Fork, the South Fork of the Snake and a few hours west Silver Creek of Hemmingway fame. The only downside are some seasonal heavy winds, and having to make occasional trips to SLC or Boise for some things you can't get locally, but those are minor compared to what you get. Even the snow is usually a light powder that you can frequently get rid of with a broom.
Thanks so much for the videos! IF is on the retirement list in a few years. Consider interviewing some folks who moved there from very warm states (ie, TX, OK, AL) to tell how they adjusted to the winters and if they have any regrets moving there. Also, reference HOAs, folks who have never lived next to someone who does not value or care for their property needs to know-- it WILL effect YOUR property value if/when you try and sell. Having SOME rules about trashy properties is VERY helpful in those circumstances. It's hard to appreciate until you've experienced it without recourse!!
No it was first of july actually, maybe i hit only two or three i cycle cross country every summer different states alot of municipality have done this it agreed 21. Post covid government theft of tax payers money.
How about Pocatello? I am from Alaska and thinking of moving south. I am retired now and am not looking for a job. I used to live in MT years ago so I know the area. Sold my house before the madness and now can't afford to buy back there (Missoula-Bitterroot Valley). I was just down eastern ID earlier this summer. Found Pocatello a pleasant surprise. Actually not looking to buy nothing, just a pleasant place to rent for now. Is that available? Yep, I have been on the usual rental sites, etc. What is your opinion?
