I have tried many creams for the bags under my eyes that bother me very much. Some work temporarily for parties, some not at all. When I listen about surgery, it is about removal of the fat from under eyes, however I am not convinced that is the fat since some creams take them away temporarily. I am a bit confused about the treatment. I just know I hate having these ugly bags under my beautiful eyes.

If you want to get rid of those bags beneath your eyes, all you have to do is sleep with your head elevated. When you're lying down, fluid builds up underneath your eyes, so keep your head up with two pillows - but don't sleep with your face in the pillow. Also put a cold wet washcloth on your eyes every morning for at least 30 seconds. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it does work. I've been doing this for years!

Thanks for adding this! The only concern I have with pillows specifically is that it may put stress on the spine and could result in some other issues (I lose feeling in my arms when I sleep with my head jacked up like that) but sleeping with your whole body at a slight incline may help.

It is because you are pumping the fluid out from under your eyes with cardio. It is the heat of the exercise plus the draining that does the trick. The lazy way, very hot showers on the face for a minute or two. It expands the vessels and lets them drain. All this Apply Cold is nonsensical.

I've noticed that if I sleep on my back, I don't get the puffiness under my eyes. If I sleep on my side, then that side gets puffy. I figured it's like lividity, where your fluids pool when you die depending on position of your body at death. It's hard for me to sleep on my back, I even try to slant my upper body up for sinus reasons & find that's even better. As a senior woman on low sodium diet, this is only my observation, no scientific study, but it's free to try at home, no risks.

@@ardymoore694 I don't know you, but I want you to be happy. If happy is NOT having it done, that's o.k.! If getting a blepharoplasty done that's o.k. too. It's all about YOU. All I can tell you is I didn't know what was worse, the lower bulges or the upper over hang puffiness. I needed both. Ardymoore, I can't TELL you how relieved I STILL am that I no longer have undereye pouches. My surgeon told me I might want the upper lids done again, but the lower space under the eye never returns. I suppose had I to choose one I would have chosen the under eye pouches. Mine were rather 'sad'. They were gone the minute I was sent out of the O.R. (you will have to pay for an O.R., otherwise upper lids are done in the surgeon's office).
My friend picked me up to go home, and I looked into her rear view mirror,... and I was shocked that my bulges were GONE.
You can decide which procedure you will want, but there are two. One is to excise fat from the outside of the lid. The other is to do it from the inside thus no cutting of the lower eye muscle - which is what I did. Study up on it to make your VERY VEST decision, .. and I wish you MUCH HAPPINESS!!!! 😍

As an Ophthalmic Technician for over 20 years, who works with an Ophthalmologist who specializes in Levator Advancement surgery and an expert on dry eye, I agree almost 100% with the information you provided. However, I do need to make mention of a more minimally invasive procedure call laser lower lid resurfacing that works absolutely incredible! I do suggest your patients and follower only see a board certified Ophthalmologist for consultation. In my experience, general plastic surgeons are slightly less experienced with lid skin and tend to be a bit more radical with their fat removal. Thank you for your time. Keep up the good work.

My body moves with less pain because the inflammation is down. If i can feel it inside my body it makes sense it would work on the outside of my body too. I would suggest mashing a cucumber to get the juices out of them then soak the eyes in the mash instead of using slices because with the contours of the eyes slices may not get into every spot.

I had an Endoscopic Brow Lift 1 year later in November 2020. In reality, it takes a knife or a needle to remove or improve one’s cosmetic concerns. Now my eyes are complete! To eliminate those under-eye pouches, simply rest with your head raised. When reclining, fluid accumulates beneath your eyes, so maintain an elevated position using two pillows-just avoid placing your face directly on the pillow. Additionally, apply a chilled moist towel to your eyes every morning for a minimum of 30 seconds. It may seem absurd, but this technique is truly effective. Interesting video. I'm a physician myself but as we all know its too easy to overlook important issues in other specialties. I did not realize that some of those tightening creams could be seriously bad leading to dry eye disease. That said use for say a special occasion - in other words infrequent use - probably lowers the risk of serious issues. I've heard of people using preparation H - same stuff used for hemorrhoids elsewhere in the body - I was wondering whether this was harmful too created the same issues. Your thoughts on careful and occasional use of these creams etc would be appreciated. Thanks for an excellent tutorial.

Hey thanks for asking. I have heard the preparation H trick too. It seems plausible to help, however, if it hasn't been tested and we don't have clinical evidence to back it up - and that use would be off label, I caution away from it. I will have to look more closely at the ingredients to see if there is anything in it that could cause problems to the eyelids long term.

This is my personal experience as a 37year old woman, who didn't get into skincare until 35..
    1) Elevate your head at night, to avoid fluid buildup. If you wake up with a stuffy nose and undereye-bags that goes away during the day- this could help
    2) When doing your morning skincare routine, lean your head back and massage from the nose and outwards and upwards with your favourite cream on your fingers.. It "drains" some of the fluid. Don't pull your skin, but do keep a little bit of pressure there..
    3) drink more water!!
Dehydrated skin looses elastisity.. I'm so bad at this, but working on it. Just drink more water. Period.
    4) Keep two teaspoons in your fridge overnight and put them on your undereyes in the morning, it helps to depuff
    5) Keep your skin hydrated. Aloe vera is really good for this
    6) if all else fails, cream used to relieve hemroids can do wonders for your eyebags. Ask your doctor first before trying this tip though

Thankyou for all your kind advice.... When a person has been through trauma, abuse any excruciating painful stuff.... I recall you mentioned the affect on one's vision, so obviously puffy eyes also play a part... my question is can there be full recovery does it depend on age?....

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  3 года назад +1

Trauma can play a lot of roles on the eyes, trauma directly to the eye can result in tissue damage and therefore swollen eyes such as in the case of a black eye. Severe enough trauma can damage the orbit which can lead to muscle and nerve damage which can often lead to double vision. In both of these cases, the tissue does often heal over time, even for nerve damage - this can heal over the course of 6 months or so. Swelling of the eyelids usually resolves over a few days to weeks due to trauma, but obviously, better with treatment (like cold compresses). What I find most fascinating is how trauma can lead to hysterical amblyopia - which is where even though your eyes see just fine, your mind makes you think you are seeing blurry (or not at all). Crazy how powerful the mind can be.

Sleeping with one's head elevated can increase neck and spinal problems. I appreciate all the information given but for temporary tightening of that area, I've used Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx EYE - it actually works. Besides salt, another thing that adds to eye bags is carbs. Consuming carbs before bedtime will guarantee puffy eyes. Most people with a high carb diet seem to have baggier eyes. Also, keep a small stone facial roller in the freezer and use it to help smooth out bags. Feels good and works well.

Take note, that if you have had your gallbladder removed, your stomach will no longer receive the Bile it needs to remove all of the fat soluble vitamins from your foods. Even with a diet of raw foods. Or a diet in general the Gallbladder is the only gland to make this bile.
Most MDs have no clue they are setting you up for a slow starvation of those extremely needed fats soluble vitamins when they do those Gallbladder removals.
Stomach stapling, reductions & lapland procedures causes this very same thing but with a much more concerning reaction to any over eating esp with high fatty foods.
Our Body needs good fats in our diets that is a must have fats converts quickly to cell growth.
Vitamin D3 is not only a Fat soluble Vitamin it is also a co-hormone believe it. With out D3 Not D2. Our body starts packing fats all over the body and inside the organs, the body just dosent know what to do with it, especially if your storage D2 is not converting to D3, the Fats have to put some where. E.G.. Brain. Lungs. Heart. Liver. Kidneys and Around our Bellies Thighs Rump Water storage.
With low D3 we will have high cholesterol levels of all types, this is our bodies way of telling us we have a D2 Conversion problem to D3 or we have D3 deficiency as cholesterol is quite literally our brains food. Taking Statens will remove the excess cholesterol in our livers but that also removes our brains food source, which is not good at all.
Now this is also another definite tell that our bodies are
Low in D3. Is always having high blood pressure no matter what you do to reduce the Systolic B.P. along with Air hunger.
Loss of your teeth do to crumbling, cavities from the teeth crumbling. Sleep disorders. Depression. O.C.D. O.D.D. Bi-Polar disorder are all signs you are extremely deficient and should get your Labs done by a reputable laboratory and always get copies of your labs so you yourself can learn how to read thos lab sheets and see what your Doctor determines as a bit low. fine or within range.
Each one of those comments is a red flag. If you're having any of the above and have had your gallbladder removed or a Stomach stapling for at least 4 years? get those labs. The Optimal range is when we are shooting for 80 to 120 with severe symptoms we're shooting for 130 until the most difficult symptoms subside.
Once diagnosed with D3 deficiencies your MD should never do your D3 labs again without taking you off D3 for at least 4 months so you do not get false highs in your labs and have your MD request you stop due to D3 being too high (Falsely too high) each time one stops their D3 protocols and one dips back to low double digits 10-20 (which most MDs think is perfectly fine it is not) so, getting your levels up again will be much harder each time you have to stop for a correct lab test.
The Females in Child producing age will have issues with getting pregnant keeping the pregnancy if low enough will make you appear infertile.
D3 deficiencies cause Ovarian cysts, fibroid growths of the uterus breast cervix and every other type of cancer as D3 is your first line of defense against cancers (this should be your very first lab test if you are having any one of these symptoms) these are abnormal but with low D3 should be the first check. Having heavy menstruation for a much longer time as well. D3 is also our first defence in fighting Cancers. Low D3 makes losing weight very difficult if not impossible and can help your body to become weightloss resistant.
As we can see being deficient in D3 can be a serious health risk to you your pregnancies and your offspring if born to a Mother who was low during the pregnancy. Your Children should also be placed on D3 also if when you learn of your deficiency.
Those who are of a darker Melanin are almost always deficient to the extrem.
Sunscreens that have a high SPF should be used sparingly it's also the best if you sit in the sun with your upper chest and eyes exposed to get sunlight helps the body to start and /or reset your natural internal clock. Which is a very good thing.
I hope I answered all of your questions that I could remember anyways. If I missed some feel free to send direct message to me and I will do my best to answer those I missed.

Sad to hear about your Sister especially, but knowing that your family is predisposed to potential D3 Deficiencies is a good start. If she has not had a Gullbladder since childhood now would be a good time to get her D3 labs to know her levels and if she is lower than 80 now would be the time to get her on the D3 Protocol. Mental illness is a huge symptom of D3 deficiency but this can also be caused by other issues as well all of those issues need to be looked into. The only way I am aware of to get absorption of Fat soluble Vitamins is by using OX Bile at least 15 to 20 mins before eating for absorbing through the Tummy. There are some topical creams you can use also. (In my experience my deficiency was to severe I was a 4 when The deficiency was found)
I had to go by way of OX Biles and eating foods high in D3.
Once the D3 goes the B12 and all B Complexes go soon after with Folate and Ferritin which helps heps with Anemia. I am also blessed with Pernicious Anemia also. So, I live on the B12 protocol with daily injections and the B complexes Folate Ferritin.
Low B12 causes nerve damage and painful joints, arthritis, vision issues such as 3D and blurred Vision to name a few. Once the body dips to below 200 in B12 the Nerves protective Mylan coatings on the ends degrade/dissolve leaving the nerve endings exposed tangled and becomes very unbearable pain wise. Go getting your levels up to the minimum 800 to 1200 and higher with nerve damage for me up to the 1500s was when I started seeing relief in my muscles joints walking easier less numbness and pins needles trigger fingers trigger wrist twitching eyes skin sensitivity. With some symptoms being diagnosed as M.S. sadly. Many lose their ability to walk some lose their ability to talk others become incontinent, many have all the symptoms while others have a few others have a list of but are walking talking Without issues and are not incontinent. Which is a great as t thing thank the GOD Almighty for saving me from that humiliation. Many of us will be in need of one of some mobility tools such as Walkers, walking canes, even wheelchair bound. Until we can get our levels up for some time without breaks in our Injections to allow our the cells in the body to fill up with the needed B12 and complex' that support the other two vitamins minerals micro minerals. I am now at a 174 and have a long way to go on both D3 and B12, an B Complexes. Of my deficiencies. Its hard to imagine that A lack of vitamins due to a lack of knowledge by ones MD can litterly cripple you, make your brain eyes hearing go from good to hearing aids coke bottles and swiss cheese brains.
