It's fascinating to watch the rehearsal; the sudden stops and starts; the conductor encouraging the musicians to change their interpretation of a number of bars of music; Yeol Eum Son's sudden need to check the manuscript. It gives a human touch to the final dress performance. Yeol Eum has a prodigious memory and such a fluid performance that is beyond explanation. God has blessed her and her adoring audience.

She is a great master. Her soft and musical power - due to her unbelievable musicality - on the orchestra is given to very very few people.
Yeol Eum Son has transcended to a legend ,,, she is truly a tactful but smooth performer, and of course the pros here on the set embellished her touch to the max

A rehearsal! Wonderful, attentive playing by the orchestra these first 15 minutes...Ms Yeol is charming, and a real pro at this age...such flowing beautiful lines, and especially formidable pedaling throughout. What a treat! Oh yes, at 38:36, the "Waltz" section of the 2nd movement, one of my favorite creations by the Master, is absolutely stunning in the pianist's hands..gorgeous articulation, and pointing of counter melody.

Marvellous captions. As entertaining as the concert in full action. Yeol Eum son has such an agréable presence and personality with a great ability to play in a very personal way, light and strong all in one touch. Excellent musicians all around the orchestra and an excellent conductor. What more could you ask? It would be unrealistic and futile to try.

OMG that infamous clarinet tone, "0:52" and "1:33" singing in the concert hall. I love ❤ it! Also at "2:53" the trombone and others. The sound of orchestral warm ups and symphonic band warm ups brings back so many great memories. My final comment is that Yeol Eum Son speaks FLUENT Piano - OMG! 😊

드미트리예프는 매우 노련한 지휘자이다. 특히 한국인 여자 피아니스트와 협력한 경험이 많다. 한국 피아니스트 이경미, 서혜경을 비롯하여 드미트리예프와 호흡을 맞춰본 한국인 피아니스트가 특히 많다. 손열음이 드미트리예프를 만난 것이 그래도 다행이다. 다정다감하고 친절한 성품이라서 손열음에게 부담을 덜어주려 노력하는 것이 눈에 보인다.

Such amazing performance, by everyone in the orchestra!. If anything, sadly the camera fails to focus on the piano during several of the greatest action moments of that instrument. They should realize that being this a Piano Concerto they should focus on its performance the vast majority of the concerto - especially the more intense moments.

Following his entrance on the stage we see at 1:54 the great man dropping to his knees to selflessly greet the current royalty and his successor, Yoel Eum Son. Upon his exit from the stage he passes by the piano and in total personal intimacy brushes his hand over the bass pins of the Steinway, as if saying his farewell to an old and dear friend...such precious moments!
