    Hope they bring Jimmy (local to us if not on the road) and Tal (not local to us) along but we generally get Barry Oakley Junior on bass and Lamar Williams Junior singing, if we're lucky.!

    I love this! And I think it's great they're keeping the legacy of The Allman Brothers band alive! But yet people bad talk lynyrd Skynyrd as they're also keeping the music alive? It's a hypocritical situation! Which is bad cause that band is great with Johnny taking over from his brother.

    • @Music-Mystic333
      @Music-Mystic333  4 месяца назад +1

      Agreed. Of course there is a difference. The Allman Betts band honors the band and artistry of the band their fathers founded, but they also have their own bands with their own music. They are not trying to be the Allman Brothers Band. Today’s LS is obviously is not the same as the original band, and has largely become a very good cover band of the foundational LS musical cannon. The compositional genius of the band was never the same after the crash. They have turned out some solid tunes since then and have done a fine job of covering the original canon over the years, but with the passing of the original members over these years they are pretty much a cover band or perhaps to be more generous - a legacy band. There is nothing wrong with that, and as long as folks are still enjoying it, more power to them. I love that they still provide an opportunity to enjoy what I consider some of the greatest southern rock ever produced. Haha… turn it up!

    • @MrRugbyloosehead
      @MrRugbyloosehead 4 месяца назад

      @@Music-Mystic333 Agreed! But I like to call them a tribute band as cover bands don't record new music especially as good as what LS as done in the past ! I Really think they did an excellent job with the Last of A Dyin' Breed album as it was as close to what the original guys put out and a triumph for Johnny as he's been the band's focal point especially now with passing of Gary Rossington 💔😔 but I still think they deserve reconition for keeping the legacy and music alive for newer fans❤️🎸😎👍

They also have a commitment to honoring and keeping alive the musical heritage of their fathers by taking time away from their own bands to have these musical revival celebrations that are very well attended and appreciated by ABA fans across the nation. I don’t understand your desire to throw shade at such a beautiful endeavor.

    I miss when great musicians children used to be innovative and take what their folks gave them to the next level. This generation of coattail rider musicians just doesn't do it for me personally.

    • @Music-Mystic333
      @Music-Mystic333  8 месяцев назад +4

      I honestly don’t feel that’s a fair assessment friend. Both Duane and Devon have their own bands that record and tour original material. I and thousands of fans across the country are thrilled that they have taken time away from their bands to take up this occasional project of celebrating the music of their fathers. It’s unreasonable to suggest that they should be able to innovate new music to exceed the work of the greatest southern rock icons of all time if only they weren’t lazily riding their fathers’ coat tails. If it’s not your thing then don’t listen, but there is no reason to throw shade at the artistry of others that so many other people really enjoy. I am curious though, I would love to hear some examples of some of the artists to which you are referring; children of great musicians who innovated and took it to the next level?
