    I've just stumbled upon this video (and others now) and respect this man for teaching and raising awareness of this ancient martial arts. He seems to not claim that it is the best or superior. He is passionate about it and its history and its importance to his people. Much respect to him because he shows much respect to his art and other people. This is a sign of a true martial artist. ...just my humble opinion

    honour to learn about this art,it reinforces what sumatran silek tuo says about the silat system,its the oldest silat and they say that indian,greek,persian,cambodian and thai mixed in and that t was brought to sumatra by a son of alexander the great,many of your moves and concepts are very similar to silek.Also kalari payattu says the same thing that it has greek and persian in it

    we marathas had similar art i have seen old grand pa take down each others swords without banging blade to blade one move and break some ones legs but that's dead now cause my father's gen was no longer interested we are but we have no option to learn

    • @kenshiro100cracked
      @kenshiro100cracked 9 лет назад +3

      +Rohan PrabhuSarDesai Hmm interesting...It does mention that the marathas used guerrilla warfare tactics and skirmish with their enemies, killing them quickly before they disappear. Which are one of the things thought in Shastar Vidiya. Do you know what the art that your grandpa did was called?

    • @BhairavVani
      @BhairavVani 9 лет назад +3

      the Guerrila warfare wasnt only the cup of tea of those warriors who have fallen out of grace, and has become bandits. many noble maratha did approve of the same but Chh Shivaji convinced them that the honorable traditions should be reciprocated and he pointed out that Guerrila warfare was anyways used againts bandits cause the dont respect the tradition of honor ame is the case of this mughas arabs and turks they consider us fools so it is justified to do the same against them as they too are not honorable warriors. So this is the story I know how our great king justified this tactics the mughals made him a mountian rat out of frustration. marathas at many instance and crucial instance fought with the mughlas in open field

    • @kenshiro100cracked
      @kenshiro100cracked 9 лет назад +1

      Rohan PrabhuSarDesai
      Yes I know that they didn't fight entirely using guerrilla tactics. But I was asking do you know what your grandpa called the art that he knew? Because mardani khel looks like a sport.

    • @BhairavVani
      @BhairavVani 9 лет назад +1

      mardani khel is a show art I never could ask what he called that martial art

    • @kenshiro100cracked
      @kenshiro100cracked 9 лет назад +2

      Rohan PrabhuSarDesai
      Then I could only assume that the marathas knew Shastar Vidiya simply because they teach very effective techniques like the ones your grand pa knew. In Shastar Vidiya, they teach not to go sword on sword or sword on shield, ect. They teach you to aim for the man, not his blade. Shastar Vidiya also had other names too.

    Many ppl think we are alone in this universe. Not me. I actually truly believe that ancient gods are real beings on a higher plain then us men. And i also believe that the so called cryptids ,hominids, ets, ect, are just lower gods. We can barley gather such minds and such lethal power .

      mma is sports, this is as important as your civilizational existence. using this we survived and exists now. otherwise Indians would have been extinct from their land like native Americans. with all kinds of invaders torcher. mma cant save civilisations.
