upgraded from beyerdynamic DX 160 today to the IE 300. i have the fidelio X2 too. after I achieved a good seal with comply foams (very important, could take time to find a good seal) IE 300 beats both the beyers and X2 by a mile it actually outclasses the full sized X2 in so many ways. The IE 300 is a bigger upgrade than I was anticipating, an eye opener. i have owned Audio Technica M50, fidelio X2, beyerdynamic DT 1350, beyerdynamic T50p, klipsch X10, and a few more, the IE300 outclasses all of them by a long shot
Got my IE900 today, they're awesome, especially the base detail and the detail in general. The soundstage is "different". Deep or male vocals are straight in your head, while female vocals are a bit more out of the head, and instruments for example are very far out
Sounds like a good purchase.
Can you compare it to the (also single DD) Beyerdynamic Xelento iem at all?
@@keithb5612 Yes, I own both, so thats no problem at all. I just need more time to give a good take on a comparison - to not talk bs so to say
Would you say that the BASS is big in your home BASE?
@@dasboss9111 Thanks. It would be great to hear your comparison thoughts on the Beyerdynamic Xelento iem.
Having owned ie800 and now Campfire Audio Atlas, Xelento feels rather underwhelming when auditioned them. I was expecting more from Tesla drivers. Congrats on your having enough disposable income to afford ie900.
The comfort alone on these IEM's is incredible. End game for me. Tried other tips but the foam ones included sound the best.
How are they holding up?
@@blake350z Still very happy with them. You considering a purchase?
Hopefully this isn’t the last good sennheiser release, a lot is up in the air after the acquisition
that was just their consumer section, they still own the professional and audiophile sections afaik
@@starplatinum96 The audiophile stuff is part of the consumer section. They only kept the professional business
The acquisition from Sonova should lead to more freedom, I think in a year's time we will see some pretty cool new products.
@@starplatinum96 Nope, the audiophile products are included in the sale.
The reason I pulled the trigger on HD 660s
So from watching this it sounds like your saying that if u already own the Sennheiser IE300 then stick with those but if you are someone who wants something a little more premium that brings out a little bit more detail to basically the same sound signature then go for the IE900.
no buy it before sennheiser stop producing it
10 videos later and i realize ur the guy that made linus cry
LOL yep that's me
wait what, i need a quick rundown
These look like a flagship should!
Also, where our IEM TIER list at DMS???
i highly doubt youtube will release that range in near future, not while i still think to eat each day
have mine today, have been listening this afternoon, I'm satisfied.
Is it just as you expected? Or it barely met your expectations?
no one would have that experience, unless they used to smth like le jardin
its very impressive and no reviewers would 'spoil' the sound
either premier or ie900 i guess
Excellent Review. I really liked how you compare both products.
Love the wider aspect ratio!
Its unfortunate that some people regard the term v shaped as if it is an insult and must be avoided at all cost. There are many variations of v shaped and it can sound fantastic.
Yeah such as HD650, its default response curve sounds so weird. EQ it then bam, a very impressive headphone.
its not your own v-eq thing w max bass, highend vshape sounds pleasing and adds more 'highend feel'
@@Originalimoc lol yeah, true that precaution is better, but really relax your bona prob got 'overclock' by boyfriend dude every night, and we should accept
Mine arriving this week and I won’t be home. This makes me sad. Great review.
IEM ranking list when?
I am wavering in my considerations between the IE 900 and the focal clear. Mainly for electronic music, hip hop and acoustic. What would you say. What is more worthwhile?
I had both… at the I took the IE 600
Glad to see a new video! Question in case anyone wants to answer: what's the best upgrade from the k361 under 200 if I don't have an amp?
If you're looking for an open-back option, the Phillips SHP9500/9600 are always considered to be good choices. For an IEM, the Moondrop Starfield is a good option as well. I think you can get both the SHP9500 and the Starfields for under 200 dollars.
Honestly, for me the k361s are my preferred long listening session cans (over my elegia, hd58x and fideliox1). The best upgrade to a stock k361 is a well EQ'd k361 :)
Get an amp first.
A small portable amp like the qudelix 5k is honestly enough to powerful anything, especially with it’s balanced 2.5mm jack. It’s also not that expensive for such a nice package
If you haven't gotten into open backs, the 58x is probably the best choice. Though, the monolith m570 is $200usd on amazon USA. I much prefer these, but they need a beefy amp like my thx 789.
Being an owner of IE900 - Really loved your videos from headphone show. Never knew you had this channel. Instantly Subscribed
Is this your main Channel ? One more thing...
Which IEM has the biggest soundstage possible in the world ? Curious to know and wanna try those someday
le jardin, phonix, multiverse, a18t
Outstanding review.
Oh I’m excited for the Grado review! I’ve had the 225e for years and absolutely love them. I’m debating between the 325x or the Hemps.
The hemps are awesome but you are paying for the look, if you want higher quality go the 325x, if you want bragging right and got some extra change go hemps.
How does these compare to Focal Celeste which I absolutely enjoy. Was looking to get a similar or better experience in a smaller form to listen even when lying down on the bed.
I would love to hear a comparison on sennheiser IE 900 vs Sony IER Z1R
It's been 3 years, any other options recommended perhaps better and cheaper than IE900?
Thanks for the review, anychance you figured out how to get a cable with a microphone for this one?
How does this compare to the Sony ier-z1r???
IER-Z1R blows these out of the water as far as I'm concerned. The IER-Z1R is one of the best iems ever made. Check out crinacles list if you need a "tier list" of sorts
@@drewdidonato8594 Wow I didn't know he ranked the z1r's so high. Literally S tier lol
@@blitzkreig000 yesss, I have them and they are truly amazing. The fit is wonky for some people though
@@drewdidonato8594 Nice, I have a set too but was wondering if I should sell them for the ie900. Guess I'll be sticking with the Sony's lol
Btw what source do you use for them?
@@blitzkreig000 honestly it depends what I'm doing. If I'm feeling like a pocket brick then I'll pair my phone to an idsd micro signature and run off that. If not, I'll throw a usbc to usb adapter into a dragonfly cobalt just for the simplicity and size. Works pretty well 😂
Surely you mean Sundara 2020 not Sundara 2021?
They really sound as close to perfect as it gets if you dont plan on turning the volume up to much (in that case particulary S' and T's stand out uncomfortably). Maybe my expectations to get blown away especially on those volumes were to high, but I will return mine anyways for that reason
For the price that Senn is charging this should NOT be happening. Long since lost faith in Sennheiser :/
@@jopar3292 They cost $2,100 AUD in Australia
What about the ie600?
How do these compare to the Final Audio A8000?
@kevinzhang6623 ie300 pretty solid, i mean there are ie for every 100 pick one fit your budget
Nice review! Sennheiser have been getting better at IEMs, no doubt those who asses IEMs on the number of drivers will be disappointed but there's something to be said for a good full range driver. Thanks for the honesty in advising an Apple dongle is just fine for these and that they don't need a n amplifier.
They will improve with a better downstream source, like a Neve RNHP Headphone Amplifier and a serious DAC (I have a Topping DX7pro, which isn't made anymore) I am so happy with this setup. iPhone is OK, but the IE900 deserve better, as you do, too! 🎉
great review, hopefully Sennheiser doesn't change after the new acquisition.
How does the soundstage of the IE300 compare to the Airpods Pro?
How does it compare to MDR EX1000, ive currently got the EX1000, is this an upgrade?
Love the 300's would love to upgrade to the 900. Such a comfortable IEM's
I’m getting this and the Dunu SA6 mkii. Please make a review of the SA6 mkii.
I have a question please I use a lot of FIIO equipment including their MMCX cables, are the cables on these sennheiser's industry standard so I can put other cables on them or am I stuck with the ones they give me thank
I own the ie300 and i can only use the Sennheiser connector cables
The improvement compared to the ie300 is as if the ie300 is only 100 or 200 dollar cheaper?
this and the Z1R is the endgame V shaped sound for many people
Do you know how it compares to the Shure SE846s??
Completely unrelated but I'm buying the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm Closed-backs and FiiO BTR5-2021 for my first cheap and pretty good value sound setup
we need IEM LIST (ranked) !!!
Dude... Crinacle has rated thousands of IEMs
oh no
How would you say these compare to the Shure SE846? I’m looking to upgrade and am very curious about these
I compared them today with my campfire solaris 2020. I Was a bit disapointed. They need a lot Power and i missed dynamic and punch. With my AK SP1000 i was on maximum Volume(150 3.5). I was definetly disapointed und can not understand all these reviews.
Surely the Solaris outclass these anyway? They are more expensive than the ie900’s after all - I know not all value comes from the cost, but CA tend to be the pinnacle of you paying for what you get - from what I’ve heard all CA Ken’s are fantastic! Only reason I’m leaning more towards the ie900’s myself is long term comfort. I sometimes use my Shure’s for 4-5 hours at a time so the majority of CA stuff just wouldn’t work for the intended long term use
@@bipadyhow in my mind the Difference wasn't 200 Bucks. It feels like 600 to 700 Bucks. If you Listen to snare drums or Piano, the comparison of the dynamic, the punch and "Sound Flag" ( Don't know the exact Translation of Sound Flag, maybe you say Echo) was really big. For me it was outclassed. I played Midnight Blue /Kenny Burrell and Aja / Steely Dan.
@@bipadyhow I have both. The ie900 are more comfortable technically but I can listen to the 846 longer. I get air fatigue a lot faster on these then any other iem for some strange reason. It’s not like the high are so high that it’s causing it. But idk it’s sounds very smooth but fatiguing at the same time. They are better then the se846 I can say that. I will also add that they did sound underwhelming at first and during audition but in my experience that’s do to tips most of the time and when I got a good seal they sounded very very good. I changed the air tip and solved the problem but I would still like to try others, as it could be these tip that causing the fatigue. I own jh audio 13 v2 and andromida but not the 2020 one along with this and the 846
This or the Sony IER Z1R?
For comfort, the IE900. Sound quality, the Z1R.
@@versaleyang sound wise the ie900 wins in terms of timbre over ier-z1r mup. Ie900 especially has better imaging and seperation ove the ier-z1r. Ier-z1r still got the better frequency response chart needing less eq touch ups.
z1r is a dam good and very capable flat stage monitor, trust me bro
I would get ie900 without hesitation if i can use it as an all in one iem. I can use it with my zoom call, voice call... with my super sony xperia 1 iii. Since this would not fit with cable with mic, i ended up going for the shure SE846.
Love my ie300. I’d like to get the ie900 but in the UK the ie300 is only a quarter of its price
Same here in Germany. 299 vs 1299€. Think he got it wrong with "more than double the price" 😂
@@MisterFDF what's your experience with the IE 300 planning on getting some
@@stgeorge4559 great sound and comfortable fit. Didn't like the ear hooks, though. But that's just a personal preference. What made me ultimately sell them was the extremely microphonic cable. Couldn't stand all the noise there. Other than that, very good sounding wired earbuds.
@@MisterFDF thanks appreciate it
Liked the video, but why are the iem‘s on the thumbnail slightly slanted? I cannot unsee it
which one is better comparing IE900 to Sony ER-M9?
Personally prefer IER-M9 sound wise. If you’re a bass head, IE900 is class leading along with Z1R
Iem 300 or 900....are they good for DJ mixing?
Wait there’s a 2021 Sundara? I just bought the 2020 Sundara.
Massdrop iE 9XX when?
Nice review! Would love to hear how it compares to the softears Turii. In the market for a single dd iem.
How come yours have a nice bronze carry case?
I had both. They are basically 1080p vs 4k
I am planning on picking up the IE 300s what's your experience with them
true2
How do these compare to CA andromeda/Solaris?
Did DMS review IE300? I can't find it on his channel.
Would you do a review on the 2021 Sony WF-1000XM4’s? I hear that they’re just as good as AirPod pros which you did a review for awhile back.
Got them. Better sound in all stages.
Any chance there might be a upcoming review for the Linsoul KZ ZS10 Pro IEM? Been starting to appreciate earbuds a bit more lately after using the AKG headphones that came with my galaxy s10 phone and I hear that these IEMs are certainly a step up in the audiophile market.
I owned the KZ ZS10 Pros briefly-when my IE 800 iems we’re damaged! I then did a lot of searching for a new earphone. I bought The KZ ZS10 it was surprisingly close-amazingly close! sounding to my once costing $1,000.00 Sennheiser IE 800. That I purchased from Amazon for $788.00 I bought the KZ ZS10 Pro for my Son, brother and best friend, to help give them an idea! of what an expensive flagship model earphone sounds like! The KZ ZS10 Pros are incredible sounding for their low price of $50.00. I have since bought another IE800 on EBay for $212.00 The IE900 will only be about 10 to 15% better than my IE800. The law of diminishing returns.
@@SONJOY77721 Since my comment I purchased the ZS10 pros.. duuuuude.. these are by far the best earbuds I ever owned. I hear sounds and frequencies in music that I cannot hear in my regular Astro A40 TRs. The cable that comes with them kinda sucks, I got the version with the mic, the mic kinda sucks because it only works if you're holding it right up to your mouth. I since bought a tripowin cable without the mic and it's perrrfect
@@Jdawg0529 Alright! so glad to hear that you pulled the trigger! on those bad babies.
I have the se846. Will you please let me know if the IE 900s would be an upgrade? I listen to Hip Hop, dubstep, reggaeton and I also game..
I would go for IE600 instead.
it will
although why, se846 is a great iem too
For professionals what would be more practical and functional ?An IE 900 or an over ear lcd x for example ?(they cost the same money)
The IE900 are totally better in every way.
@@BillKinsman have you tried them ?
no go for ciems
depends if vshape is fine then why not, otherwise for audio editor, for example, ier-z1r is better, or mest mk2
does it create noise on earbuds when the cable is being bumped to your shirt ?
Did they first make the IE300 and then upgrade it or did they make the IE900 first and then nerf it??
its a refined ie800, in many ways, and delivers, sounds like flagship, totl, from huge audio company such as sennheiser
whats this overly kind words
z1r is monitor sound, ie900 fun sound
Is your IE300 video private?
@DMS would you recommend the IE900 or IE600 for a balanced but mildly boomy gaming experience??
itll shookt you
both will
is this for audiophile consumers, professionals, or both? Do you see this being used by video editors and whatnot?
Mostly audiophiles and high end consumers
Edit: if you’re an editor and need an IEM there’s always blessing 2 DUSK
@@DMS3TV thank you for the feedback...what other IEM offerings by Sennheiser would you recommend? Would you say this is better than the blessing 2 DUSK?

Final audio VR3000
Thanks for this bro
Ma send me the link of that wallpaper or whatever is on the back side
Which usb c dongle do you recommend
I would of thought you’d compare to the ie600
IE600 didn't exist yet back when I released this video.
For some reason I just can't get into Senn products... I never liked the HD800/S and I thought the HD650 was meh. I'd say Grado is my least liked headphone brand and Senn is a close 2nd to being at the bottom of the list. I want to like them but just can't.
Mmm i actually never brought a Sennheiser headphone, the only ones i tried is AKG which sounded normal or boring but realized i loved the details but was ear piercing on some of them. I wanna try Sennheiser because of how good the headphones are expecially the HD800s according to the reviews.
It's matter of taste. I never liked Sennheiser sound either, and their products never really had the price to performance ratio. Now that the consumer audio business has been sold off, it's probably a good idea not to touch Sennheiser products for a while anyway.
Please review the JH Audio Layla / Layla Aion, I've heard it has insane soundstage for an iem.
👌
best sennheiser iem for making music and djing?
i recommend their headphone 820s or smth
I had high hopes that you will also review the Kinera Nanna 2.0
I would like to
How large are the diaphragms in the 900 and 300? Great video!
7mm
@@Kirko_bangz Thank you! That's what I was afraid of... Anything under 10mm just doesn't sound as rich or full in my opinion. Pass.
@@Onibabayaga u haven't heard many good iems with a smaller than 10mm driver then.
@@michaelgilbert7841 rofl there’s a specific reason that most IEMs have a driver that’s larger than 10mm. You can’t skirt physics my friend… I like deep, rich bass and smaller drivers will not produce that as well as larger drivers…Period. Go be delusional elsewhere or do some of your own research.

So you use the ie900 just with an iPhone?? You did not listen to it via a DAP of haedphone amp of great quality?
Of course I tested it with a DAP, but there’s not much point really. Phones are just as good for something this easy to drive if the phone has a quality DAC.
@@DMS3TV could you tell me which (IE300/900) is better for normal phone to drive?
@@ficklenesscal7775 I got my ie900 with a Dragonfly cobalt DAC a few days ago, the IE900 sound amazing, but i've tested the DAC for hours to see if it can make the sound any better, I couldn't hear any difference at all.
@@arbeloss5205 so u meant you hv tested the IE900 with phone "alone", then u add DAC to it, the difference is not big, right? I can't really relate ur comment to mine question.
@@ficklenesscal7775 that's correct, no difference at all, phone's DAC can handle them easily, ur not gonna need any DAC or amp to drive them.
What's the background music to this
What is the name of the track playing at the end?
Let me ask you what iem that's in budget price has the best detail and soundstage and clarity
I'm not an expert, but if you want wired IEMs, I'd highly recommend something by KZ, they are a very budget friendly brand and stuff like the kz zs10 pros are lauded by everyone who gets them as hitting way above their price range of about $40 US, and i myself can attest they are great for the price, sound better than any true wireless buds I've used, including high price stuff.
I've got to say, I have loved the channel ever since I discovered it from the video where you helped Linus with the Abyss headphones.
"They sent 6 boxes; and THIS guy-" lmao
Is this not eddy redmayne????
What soundproofing boards does he use?
jesus... by "less than half price" you actually meant to say "these cost 4.5 times less".
Maybe they're planning to make a Sennheiser HD 900 since this product is out it's probably secretly in the works
They need it because the IE900 blows the HD800S's away

Playing games? Would the IE 900 be overkill for the switch? 😄
Flagship IEMs for gaming are for plebs. I casually use my HE-1 on my Gameboy Colour.
@@dannybos7024 The HE 1 is not really portable, so my question was meant seriously. 😉
@@vancybergoth Oh oops. No but it’s fine for gaming. Of course you’re sacrificing imaging and staging, but the sound is good.
@@dannybos7024 Don't worry, i thought the joke was funny. I used the Focal Elear for Switch gaming for a while until I had a defective driver and sold the Elear after it was repaired.
You joke, but the 3d imaging of flagship Sennheiser iems make great gaming iems. They let you experience gaming ambience with VR-like immersion. This is for being lost into the game; not for competitive gaming that probably need exaggerated footsteps and such.
This vs shure se 846
now where did I leave those $1000
where is the 3k gain???
i really wanted to like the IE 300s but the bass was not detailed to me and the overall timbre was unnatural. also a negative was the comfort {but that's a "me problem"). hopefully the IE 900 is a better option.

Actually, for me using a dac made a huge difference when I thought it wouldn't. And a cheap vs an expensive dac also made noticeable difference. I am now a believer of dacs.
These are the Holy Grail
